OK. I'm asusming we can't pull the trigger on a Cowher or Shanny. So Heimerdinger doesn't sound bad to me. Also, I'd be OK with Grimm in the same thought... He interviewd already and has been pretty decent in AZ. Plus as an OL guy...we are in dire need of improvement there. Hire a OC, like the Coordinator you mention...I think he's at SC... I think we could find a decent DC working under Ryan in NY. Or maybe even Rob from CLE...

I think this sums it better...

donate.bmpdonate.bmp OK, I'm in for $25!

I mentioned this site earlier... http://www.talkbears.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5377 Did you donate yet? Does it seem secure?

I am in the same situation. I too have Manning. I'm sticking with him unless I hear officially he will be rested.

Bait taken! I could "probably" do better... I honestly believe that. I'd have passed on Hester for sure, but we'd have Derrick Johnson instead of wasting Benson. We'd have Mendenhall over Forte. And I think Loadholt. Possibly Zbikowski. Definitley not Bazuin, Owko, Melton, etc...

They could get him cheap. Card board cutout is all that's needed...
-
Great points... Hoe this unfolds will truly be the only thing worthwhile in this horrid season.
-
Man, that would be nice!
-
I do not doubt that for a second!

I'll have to read up on AZ54's boycott. I know I've been financially boycotting them for at least 6 weeks and counting...
-
That would be a big, "NO".....

Not for some of us!

C'mon, play along! We need every advantage we can get!

I joked about wearing a bog over my head at a game earlier...but I think the bag may come in more useful as a barf bag. I'd tote it to a game on my hip if I weren't boycotting Bears products until a regime change. I really dislike our coaches and management. What a frustrating 2+ decades this has been... Welcome to Cubdom everyone. Watch as the hapless Lions will now surpass us shortly. I thnk the jerseys should remove the GSH. We do the man no respect with the product that is out there right now. Put it back on once this organization ceases to be a joke. I'm venting...and I think it's helping. I feel my blood pressure lowering. At least momentarily until we hear Marinelli will be the DC and Terry Shae is back.

Very well said 2000!

Moon Mullin says Smith will be back in 2010

Agreed. I heard Mullin on the score last night, and made mention how the McCaskey's don't deserve the "cheap" lable. Yet he goes on to say how the potential lockout is concerning the organization and is a chief reason they don't want to oust Smith. But, isn't that about money then? I'm confused. Pissed off. Sad. I need a double. -
Seems like more and more of these kinds of sites are popping up... The fans are indeed restless.

Moon Mullin says Smith will be back in 2010
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Agreed. I didn't expect him gone either. I've stated a number of times I felt next year would be his last. Easier to justify a $5 loss than an $11M one. I just hope we don't smoke and mirror wins and give a false positive. I simply have zero faith in Smith. I expect Martz as a OC. He seems to want the job. Maybe he's angling at a HC position. I imagine they will force a DC on Smith. And thus we fall into the mess we were in right before Jauron left. It's just sadly more of the same. Connor, you really hit the big problem right on. This Mickey Mousing w/ coaches will put Cutler behind for many year. I see next year as a wash with moderate improvement while we watch Green Bay, Detroit and Minny potentially get even better. Then I expect Smith gone, and a new regime in. Then it'll take about 2 years for that to kick in. So we'll have had Cutler for 4 years before seeing any real profits. It's virtually like getting a rookie. It just doesn't thrill me. Normally, I'd be excited about draft prospects, FA's, something. I'm grasping for straws.... -

Yep. It's deja vu all over again... -
I also wonder how much of the personnell decisions are falling solely on Turner. Doesn't Smith have a say? I feel he is getting too much of a pass and Turner taking all the blame. Don't get me wrong, I think Turner is not good enough. But I don't think Smith is either.

http://chicago.comcastsportsnet.com/pages/blog_moon Friday, December 18 CSNChicago.com has learned, in the strongest terms to date, that Lovie Smith indeed will be back as Bears coach in 2010. That has been my take of the situation for some weeks before this. Now two highly placed individuals within the organization have separately indicated that there will not be a change at the top of the on-field org chart, due in some measure to the looming prospect of a strike/lockout. The same assurances were not there with respect to changes on the staffs for offense and defense. Don’t look for any announcement one way or the other, by the way. Organizations typically do not issue statements that nothing is happening. But this is the first time that I’ve been able to find something close to “statement” on Smith’s future, which is now all but certain to be coaching the 2010 Chicago Bears.

I've got to imagine the bridge has been burned. If he were offered a HC job, the bridge may be repaired. Why would he want to come back to the team that "did him wrong" as the DC he already is in SD, on a SD club that has a legit shot at a SB for a few years? Sanny or not. The only way he could be coaxed, all else being equal, is as HC.

What pansies... Play in the snow. They deserve to lose now.
