  1. Bingo! And i think Gore still got 100 yards and a TD against us...
  2. yes! There was one play I swroe ig he broke the shoelace tackel, he'd have hit paydirt! I think if you played him at WR with a legit #1 and a Hester on field, matchup problems would ensue... That's a lot of if's...
  3. Fair enough! Reed is outstanding! It's really bad drafting. He gets mass kudos for finding Hester and somehow that's supposed to balance out the failing grade for everything else? It's got to stop. We need to stop the bleeding NOW. Like I menioned earlier...I fear the organization isn't good enough Ted down... So, there's nothing that speaks to me that somthing will be done. We have a gigantic gold mine with this franchise, yet ownership insists on brining in a 6 man crew of pans and plastic cups to mine for it. All the while, many other organizations are using all the modern technology and good staffing to reap amazing profits from much smaller mines.
  4. Wow. The ineptness never ceases to amaze me.
  5. Yes, the WR's are performing better than expected, but it's not good enough. Any QB will struggle with what we've surrounded our QB with. But many would not hand the game over on a red carpet with a 2 for 1 coupon like Cutler has done now for virtually 3 games. Orton would have had this game as a win I feel. Cutler could have almost taken sacks all game and we'd have probably won it. The picks just simply killed us. I hope we will look better later, because we certainly look putrid for the deal now. The philosophy must be to build around Cutler. But I hope isn't not a mistake. Right now, the mistake I know for certain is having this staff be the ones in charge of his stay here...
  6. I'm exadurating a bit. But let's not cloud the issue with semantics. He's arguably the best in the league right now. Not sure who you think is better, but the point it he is a pro bowl calibur player that contributes heavily to his team's success.
  7. Why was he longsnapping to Cutler's shoes all night long? I'm convinced it was the cause of one of the turnovers... He is a shell of his former self.
  8. I'm not expecting Superman. I just expect a guy, who on a national stage, won't thow more than 3 picks. He's proven so far he can't. he may have won the SEA game, but he lost this one. I honestly feel orton would have the same record. While done differently. Not saying Orton is better. Just saying Cutler isn't delivering regardless what is around him. Rodgers is getting hounded, and he's not F-ing up as bad as Cutler. He has better WR's... There is a connection. Right now, the deal for 2 firsts and Orton looks like we've been feeced. There's still a lot of time to change that, but until it happens expect everyone to bash us for such.
  9. I just am... He's a failure. Here's PIT's last 6 drafts: 2008 - 1st - Mendenhall - looks to be very good with lots of upside if he can stop fumbling (The guy I wanted the Bears to draft) 2007 - 1st Timmons, 2nd Woodley - great D starters 2006 - 1st Santonio Holmes - pro bowl type guy (Also got T Colon in the 4th) 2005 - 1st - Heath Miller (one of the best TE's in the league) 2004 - 1st - Big Ben - 'nuff said (also OT Starks taken in the 3rd) 2003 - 1st - Polamalu - best S since Lott OK, mayb they got lucky, but when you compare ours (I don't need to put it up), it's just garbage. Until Angelo goes, we will be mediocre....
  10. I honestly want hester just returning and get him off the offense. We turned the world's greatest returner into an average WR. Bad trade-off...
  11. Good points. Regarding WR, I'm still convinced, as I have been all along, that we still need a real #1. Just becasue Hester catches the most passes or gets the most yards, doesn't make him a "#1". Millen or the other buffoon mentioned during the game that you need a guy that is a pro WR. Someone playing the part all his athletic career basically. We still need that. The savvy is not there with the guys we have. All can be great #2's, but we still have no #1. I fear Cutler may be a bust. I really do. At least with this staff.
  12. I fear the structure in place is not well built. While it deos seem Better the Mikey-boy...it almost seemes worse. Becasue there is some success which clouds the reality of failure. I keep thinking I'm watching the Fontes-led Lions. Just good enough to keep warranting keeping on, but bad enough that nothing will ever really come of it. The screen did work well. But, it's not making me feel much better.
  13. The wind has completely been taken out of my sails... I'm sure it'll pass, but this loss is one of the most wrenching ones I can ever recall. It just served as a harbringer of "no hope/no future". The Bears destroyed themselves. Bad teams always figure out ways to lose. At least there, we're good at something. We're great at losing. I saw no bright spots. Yeah, the D played good against another horrid O. But everything is sour. Only Briggs played with true passion. He was livid out there. I am mentally planning for the next few years to enjoy the kicking greatness that is Robbie Gould, and watching Lance Briggs tackle. Other than that, I only expect disappointment until an entirely new regime is put in place, Ted Phillips down... My Kool-aid glass is a barren wasteland the size of the Sahara desert. The Bears as they are structured to be, for years to come, are heartbreakers and dream killers. Oh well, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me infinitely, shame on me. I must truly be insane. I keep watching the same crap year after year w/ an odd smoke & mirror season every 5-7 years, and expect different results. I think I might need professional help. Sorry, I'm pissed off, apathetic, sad, and plain frustrated.
  14. I sure was. Should have known better.
  15. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him gone and i don't think we could get enough. But, I know virtually any team in the NFl would love to see what they could do with that guy. Especially a coaching staff that knows what they are doing.
  16. ...I just hope they play hard, tough, smart and get a win. Go Bears!
  17. New coordinator hasn't improved Lovie's defense Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 12, 2009 6:09 PM ET Since losing to the Colts in the Super Bowl three years ago, the Bears have defined mediocrity. They have won 20 games, lost another 20, and tried out three starting quarterbacks before landing Jay Cutler. The rotating signal callers have distracted attention from Chicago's biggest problem: Lovie Smith's defense isn't very good. The unit was below average in 2007 and 2008. With practically the same personnel back this season, Smith's big gamble this offseason was to appoint himself defensive coordinator. He was counting on coaching rather than players to fix things. And now Chicago's defense looks worse than ever. The Bears gave up 45 points to the Bengals in Week Seven, then 41 to the Cardinals in Week Nine. NFL Network's Mike Lombardi spoke this week that the Bears have been struggling just to get lined up correctly of late. That's coaching. On Thursday night, look for Alex Smith and the 49ers to attack a Bears secondary that has been vulnerable because the defensive line hasn't pressured teams. This is a crucial game for Lovie and his troops. If the Bears can't win, they will be 4-5 with Philadelphia and a trip to Minnesota up next on the schedule. A second game against Minnesota and a trip to Baltimore also loom. While the heat is on offensive coordinator Ron Turner, it's fair to ask what's Chicago's biggest flaw. They have a defensive-minded head coach running a defense that has been below average for three years running. There is very little young talent to get excited about. Yes, the Bears ownership won't want to eat the end of Smith's contract. But they might not have any choice if Smith's defense keeps giving up 40 points anytime they face a decent quarterback
  18. If the Colts, Pats or Saints had Hester and the field position, they'd be breaking NFL scoring records left and right...
  19. Jamar has no value at all. He's completley unproven...
  20. This'll be a very telling game no matter how you slice it!
  21. Chicago players have largely been a disappointment in fantasy (and reality for that matter). Even Gould... He's one of the best, but he's not getting fantasy points.
  22. I don't see Cutler on that list. We just brought him here, and I think the key is to build around him. I do see the rest of the 3 as postential trade bait. You could also toss Urlacher, Tillman, Knox, and Olsen. I don't see it happening, but it's possible. Just not probable.
