I just hope we can get something for him...
-
I agree. But I still think that's a big blemish on Smith. He didn't get the play out in time...nor did he give instruction before-hand on what to do if the play isn't fast and forth-coming.
-
Agreed. The sack total this year would probably be closer to 20 w/o Jay...
-
Not sure how I feel about that. If we want Roach as a more permanant member of the D, assuming Url is back next year at MLB, would the other spot be more advantageous? Just saying...
-
Also in relation to the giving up of sacks...11 last year and 10 this year isn't an improvement. Cutler has Bruce Lee agility compared to Orton... The O Line sucks...

http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....ic-benson-.html 10/22/2009 Lance Briggs: No-huddle, Pisa's injury, Ochocinco, Cedric Benson Atlanta week was exciting, especially when you’re playing against a team of that caliber. You want to come in and make a statement about who you are as a team. Once a team starts to go no-huddle, you have a different type of procedure where we have wristbands on and we’re looking to get the calls out much faster. It’s just being more efficient. In order to be more efficient, we might do numbers or have the whole team look to the sideline to get the call instead of having to echo it all around … just a way of combating it. You never know when a team is going to go no-huddle. It’s different for Lovie (Smith) because he’s making the calls. He’s got to get the calls in a lot faster. For us, we just have to wait for the call and play. Losing Pisa Tinoisamoa, I just feel bad. First game he comes back, he goes down again. It’s terribly unfortunate. As teammates, the best thing we can do for him and Brian Urlacher is win. We all have to play well enough to get deals like Jay Cutler's (kidding). I’ve been doing this for a long time. We all know what the risks are playing the game. If an injury happens, it happens. But I don’t go in thinking, "Hey, I don’t want to get hurt right now.’’ You just go in and play hard. I had a chance to scoop and score against Atlanta. When the ball came out, I was already on the run headed to the ball. I had a good, clean swipe at it. Had I grabbed the ball and not let it slip out of my hands and scored a touchdown, this wouldn’t even be a discussion. It would be more like, ``Wow, that was a great play, smart thinking!" It was smart thinking: I just didn’t complete the task. Everybody joked about it. As soon as I came out, Bob Babich was like, "Wow, you missed it. That was a touchdown.’’ On a serious level, it’s something that should never happen. That’s one of those opportunities that help the team win. We lose a game by seven points. If I would have just fell on it or tripped or whatever, it puts us in position to do something. Chad Ochocinco, I haven’t really had a chance to think about what he’s said (on Twitter). This Lance Armstrong plays downhill. If he wants to meet me at the bottom of the hill, I’ll tell him, "You might want to get off the tracks when the train is coming through. Choo Choo!!!’’ I don’t have Twitter. I’m not into that. That’s not me. With Cedric Benson, we didn’t go after him in practice (back in 2006). But that comment was made to reporters, and I remembered it. I’m just saying, "Here’s your shot, here’s your chance (for revenge).’’ What happens with his personal life and with his personal issues is all him. I’ve got nothing to do with it. All I am is an ex-teammate

I just want a win... I'd like to see some improvement on the O-line, the running game, and the defensive adaptation (to no-huddle or whatever scheme is working for our opponent at the time).

Always seems a day late and a dollar short...

C'mon AZ...let's take things for what they are. Jason never stated he's a clynical psychologist. He simply made mention of observations he personally saw while being at the game. Not every observation on earth needs verification by a mob of PHD's, expert witnesses, psychics and telepaths. No one really knows what Tillman's thoughts were but Tillman, no matter what he decides or not decides to tell anyone. Usually in life, you can only go by what you observe. Jason put his 2 cents in. Maybe a different attendee saw it differently. We won't know unless someone steps up and states it so. But discounting an observation based on things the observer could not have knowedge of is just silliness. However, on the accountability issue, you are spot on.

So far, we tend to bounce back after losses. I hope that remains true. We also tend to fold after long breaks. Since we have no more breaks, maybe we roll. And on that note, I hope we don't get a first round bye in the playoffs!
-
Overall, probably. But they folded in hurry up mode badly. You simply cannot put 2 DB's on 3 WR's... That cost us a TD. Then, later Gonzalez isn't touched at the LOS, and run free to the end zone for another TD. I'm not sure what cuased the Turner TD run, but it was his only good run of the night in the only location that stopping the run would have been nice. I'm not saying the D failed, but they are as much responsible for the loss. No pick or fumble was returned for a TD. Atlanta's TD's were socred on the D.

We're seemed to be doing a better job adjusting, but a far poorer job preparing...
-
So true. So sad for us.
-
I've got no problem with that...
-
Get it Pisa. And see if you can come back for next year. We'll need the warm bodies I fear.

Amen! I read that article today and thought Rick was on the pipe. OK, I get why some might be angry at Kyle. Kind of a jelously thing. But overall, most fans I know wsh the guy luck unless we play him. As you mention, Favre is a whole other thing! I hate him passionately. Always have. Always will. Maybe I'll finally relent when he's in the HoF and can't play anymore... But until then, he is public enemy number one to me. Especially in our division for the love of it all! Rick is just trolling for readership...

You'll love it! I'd recommend going to Sterling. The wine isn't super, but the tram ride and view is! A really good wine book is "Oldman's Guide to Outsmarting Wine". It helped me when I was feeling like a buffoon! (still, can't help being a buffoon though...) http://www.amazon.com/Oldmans-Guide-Outsma...6081&sr=8-1 I'm completely jealous of your dad's career! Ha! If it's cold beer, I'll drink it! Some I just like much better than others, like Racer 5, Guinness, and Acnhor Steam...

Sounds good! Lucky man! I love wine country! The wife and I love Peju up there in Napa! Good stuff accross the board. I also loved the barbera from Turnbull close by there... If you have any good places/stories, please share! We really love Sonoma and the Russian River Valley as Napa gets pretty crowded, but it's all so good! I like the Speys too! We pretty much do the same. usually it's just bring a bottle of single malt of your choice, a cigar and whatever you want to grill. Sometime we do an odd tasting like we did Irish whiskie one year for St. Pats and are working a Bourbon tasting for Thanksgiving... Never thought of the home-made blend! I'll have to add that in! I basically will drink anything! But prefer (red) wine with dinner, scotch before and after, and beer when watching football...

I'm also a big fan of Talisker and Caol Ila! Bowmore is disappointing. I prefer Bruchladdich to Bowmore. I'm also a huge fan of Oban. It was my first real scotch that got me into it... I love the various Glenmorangie bottlings! The Nectar D'or is amazing! It's about $70 in the US, and has a nice preppery kick to it. If you'd like my spreadsheet, don't hesitate to PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you.
-
Not an Islay fan I see! I love the Islays! If you think Lagavulin is harsh, give Laphroig a whirl! I'm a huge Scotch drinker. I'm not a big fan of Livet and Fiddich...but I do like MacCallan's and Highland Park's a lot. Older Livets and Fiddich's are really good, but too pricey. If you're looking for a mellower Scotch at a decent price point, I really recommend a couple... 1. Auchentoshan 10 yr (about $30) - from the lowlands...very tasty! 2. Dalmore 12 yr (about $30) - nice highland...great w/ cigars I've got more recommendations if you'd like. PM me, and I'd be happy to send you a spreadsheet I have. I belong to a whisky club, and we meet about 6-7 times a year and try about 6-8 bottles per tasting.

Then no wonder I'm on the good stuff...

It would be nice... Maybe even Otogwe at S?

He needs to be dangled for trade bait...
