Anybody watch the MNF Game Yesterday? Bears Related
madlithuanian replied to Noots's topic in Bearstalk
Oh, we hear you loud and clear! I can't recall a soul on this board pining for McKie to be anything but a tackling dummy... -
Pass. Boldin, yes. But they'd want more.

Great point lemonej...
-
You sum it up nicely right there...

There does seem to be something that Smith and crew seem to like underdogs, late picks and walk on's... Other than the current underacheiving Harris, who's really a top pick that's kicked butt for us? Not Olsen yet... I've got to be mssing something.... Besides brain-matter.

I'm working on that button to no avail...

Win win is right... That's really how I see it. A fair trade as fair goes.

You make some good points. Overall, I liked Orton. I think he was, and still is a fantastic game manager. He's also shown some this season, that he could be a bit more. Something we never saw much of, but that was probably due to the skill set around him (O Line). I prefer Cutler. He's got silly upside and I think can make more happen with less. And I think he's proven that so far here. The whole idea of JA bashing over Benson is plain silly. Benson wouldn't be where he is today w/o the wake-up call the Bears were foreced to give him. Had he stayed with the Bears, he would have floundered and probably been out of football by now. The young man felt early on that he was owed... Then reality hit, and he made some bad personal decisions besided not preforming on the field. Then he woke up and got it right. Now he's a decent to good RB for the Bengals. I'm happy the young man got his act together. But I hope he fumbles like no tomorrow when we play him in 2 weeks!

The bias is shining mightily. All over, Orton is the second coming of Brady (just read peter King's horrid MMQB article on SI.com today) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...tml?eref=sihpT1 and Cutler is still the petulant crybaby. But, I'm taking it all with a grian of salt. It's week 5. There are 12 more weeks to go, and a lot can and will happen before the playoffs are all set. And we'll see how all this shakes out. I think the bears will be beyond thrilled to have Cutler, and I think the Broncos will be happy with Orton. I think Cutler is still the better QB. I fully agree that w/ Kyle, we'd be lucky to have more than 1 win. The O line makes a huge difference. Look at what Brady couldn't do yesterday...

I think I need to see a shrink! I have a lot of repressed memories of Bears' QB's of the past! That's atrocious!
-
Ah hell, I forgot about him!!!
-
McNown's right up there for sure! Did Burris actually play more than one game? Maybe I took it out of my memory bank! People saying Cutler are Denver fans...
-
Ha! I can't argue that one!

This is going to be a tough one. Hopefully the extra week of preparation actually pays off, and the team will actually start playing right after the coin flip! It's a game we can win. If we hold Turner in relative check and keep the pressure on Ryan, also assuming the O will be fine as they've been the last number of weeks, we should win.

I can really only attest for QB's MacMahon and on... And I'd say it's a close one between Hutchinson and Stewart. I'll lean on Hutch becasue at least Stewart had some skills that had some success early in his career. There are just so many to choose from! It's kind of sad...

It'll be ugly. But you never know! NE looks vulnerable and TB has nothing to lose... Who am I kidding, TB is dust.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091007/ap_on_..._annoying_words By MICHAEL HILL, Associated Press Writer Michael Hill, Associated Press Writer – Wed Oct 7, 3:25 pm ET So, you know, it is what it is, but Americans are totally annoyed by the use of "whatever" in conversations. The popular slacker term of indifference was found "most annoying in conversation" by 47 percent of Americans surveyed in a Marist College poll released Wednesday. "Whatever" easily beat out "you know," which especially grated a quarter of respondents. The other annoying contenders were "anyway" (at 7 percent), "it is what it is" (11 percent) and "at the end of the day" (2 percent). "Whatever" — pronounced "WHAT'-ehv-errr" when exasperated — is an expression with staying power. Immortalized in song by Nirvana ("oh well, whatever, nevermind") in 1991, popularized by the Valley girls in "Clueless" later that decade, it is still commonly used, often by younger people. It can be an all-purpose argument-ender or a signal of apathy. And it can really be annoying. The poll found "whatever" to be consistently disliked by Americans regardless of their race, gender, age, income or where they live. "It doesn't surprise me because 'whatever' is in a special class, probably," said Michael Adams, author of "Slang: The People's Poetry" and an associate professor of English at Indiana University. "It's a word that — and it depends how a speaker uses it — can suggest dismissiveness." Adams, who was not involved in the poll and is not annoyed by "whatever," points out that its use is not always negative. It also can be used in place of other, neutral phrases that have fallen out of favor, like "six of one, half dozen of the other," he said. But the negative connotation might explain why "whatever" was judged more annoying than the ever-popular "you know," which was recently given a public workout by Caroline Kennedy during her flirtation with the New York U.S. Senate seat vacated by Hillary Rodham Clinton. "You know," Adams notes, is a way for speakers to seek assent from others. Pollsters at the Poughkeepsie, N.Y. college surveyed 938 U.S. adults by telephone Aug. 3-Aug 6. The margin of error is 3.2 percentage points. The five choices included were chosen by people at the poll discussing what popular words and phrases might be considered especially annoying, said spokeswoman Mary Azzoli.

No need! Just bring up we won SB XX! EVERYONE remembers that one. Besides the one that just happend (whatever the current year is...), people ALWAYS remember that Super Bowl. Yep, we're still living off it. But, it was that big, that good, that important.

Loving the discussion fellas! Keep it up! I wish I could add more, but I'd bring the level of debate down!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/category/rumor-mill/ The Cowboys really are "America's Team" Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on October 7, 2009 7:00 PM ET The Harris Poll is probably run by a large company that does many important things. But I only hear of it one time a year, when they come out with the poll that says who is "America's favorite football team." And the envelope please . . . The Dallas Cowboys came in first in the poll for the third straight year, which doesn't exactly make up for the lack of playoff wins of late. But it certainly helps Jerry Jones' bottom line. The Steelers came in second, followed by the Bears, Colts, and Patriots. Completing the top ten were the Packers, Eagles, Giants, Titans (!?), and Vikings. The poll takers were asked to predict who would win the Super Bowl this year, with the Steelers getting the most votes (19%), followed by the Patriots (17%). There was no word how many people picked the Redskins.

He is on my fantasy team! Nah, a healthy Palmer makes me think their O clicks... Last time he was healthy, they were one game away from the SB...
