  1. Not to be snide, but Forte pretty much did the same thing on 3-1 at the goal line before the 4th down TD, and got stuffed. Maybe it's the line...
  2. Must not be a lot to write about... It's a little too early for the panic button...
  3. My buddy and I will be in row 6 section 439 ...yelling our fool head's off! GO BEARS!!!!
  4. Good luck in Cleveland Jeff!
  5. C'mon nfo, give me more credit than that! We should change up plays. However, not just do it to be tricky. And i swear that's what Turner does far too often. he overthinks it, and gets it wrong. I have no probalem running Wolfe up the gut once we've already had a first down conversion and it's first or second down. Youmust keep them honest. But, you run outside with him, or cutback, or off-tackle, or whatever until they really stop it. I am not opposed to going to the well if it's still full of water. Once the bucket comes up empty, time to find a new well. Earlier you mentioned, why is Wolfe spelling Forte. And I agree. Wolfe should be in when down and distance call for it really. ...and when Forte needs a break. But if Forte needs a break on a crucial 3-1, now is not the time to get fancy. If you want to get fancy, at least put the ball in the best players' hands, and that would be Cutler's. Otherwise, give it to Peterson, Cutler for a sneak...just not to Wolfe up the midle or the darn fullback! Just becasue Garrett is a golden boy of OC's, doesn't mean he's great. But regardless, yes, not matter who we get, there will be something to complain about. That part of football. However, there's a difference between complaining, and seeing a constant failure to the obvious. Turner has botched similar all throughout his recent tenure here. He needs to held accountable. 'm not saying dump him...yet. But he should be on close watch with the rest of this staff. We cannot afford to Mickey Mouse around when we have the talents of Cutler and a few others on this club. I don't want to jump out of the frying pan and land in the fire. But nor do I want to keep cooking without any oil in the pan... You mention execution is the problem. But really? Is Cutler f'in up drastically? Is the running game really f'in up, or do we not just have the talent on the O-line? Failure to execute means the talent is there and athey are not getting it done. I'm not so sure the talent is there (on the O-line). Shouldn't the coaches know what we can or can't do? I may want to run the ball against Baltimore, but if my only running back is my 80 year old history teacher from high school, I'm taking my shots with the passing game. Turner did a better job last year, I'll agree. Especially compared to the atrocious year before where he basically deserved to be fired... And yes, you can only play the hand you're dealt with so well...but I am convinced after numerous years of watching him coordinate, that sometimes he loses too often with straight flushes...
  6. I think Turner calls a good 1/2 game. The other half is fair to poor. I make not bones about it, I've never been a Turner fan except for the a brief moment when he was first hired hoping for something that would never come to fruition. He been outright atrocious many years. This year, he's been better more often than bad. But, I'm not sure that's good enough. It might be for Smith and JA, but unless I see some decent improvment, my attitude of wanting better won't change. He simply make far too many boneheaded play calls. How many time does he have to hear fans, media, etc blast him for running Wolfe up the middle? This wasn't one time in one game. It's happened numerous times. And I fell bad for Wolfe. It's not his fault, and he takes the brunt of it since it's his name. You simply do not place Horatio Saenz in to run against U. Bolt in a srpint. Give your team a chance to win... Turner seems to fail at this simple equation far more often that one should given his experience and salary.
  7. ...add that to the never-ending baffling list on "What Was The Staff Thinking?"

  9. I suppose. But I think no decisions until after the bye. We may need the roster space of LB's if our giuys can't get healthy. Other than that, I see no harm.
  10. Great pictures! Thanks for sharing!
  11. Good question. Part of me think it should be a safety, but I'm thinking that there's no way it can be...
  12. Bears bring back Darrell McClover Posted by Mike Florio on September 29, 2009 4:45 PM ET The Chicago Bears have done a Tuesday roster shuffle, dropping cornerback DeAngelo Smith and re-signing linebacker Darrell McClover. McClover spent three years with the team, working primarily on special teams. As Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times points out, McClover was inked for his special-teams skills. He also will provide depth at the linebacker position if the team has any further injury difficulties. Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee) and/or Hunter Hillenmeyer (rib) could play this week against the Lions.
  13. They do look bad! Something just tells me, they'll rally at least one game and make it happen. I just don't see a Brown's team doing that for Mangenius. Detroit has improved. But, this is still a team we should beat solidly and the Vegas point spread of 10 speaks to that.
  14. Very true! And seriously, does anyone discount the '85 Bears because they beat up on an inferior Pat's team at that time?
  15. It matters if you're arguing "best of all time" etc... But all that matters is winning. I have seen "Semoething About Mary", but I'm not sure why you reference that. I only recall Chris Elliot and Diaz's odd hairstyle from that... I'm sorry you'd be disappointed we won a Super Bowl. I for one was livid we lost the one in '06. I'd be ecstactic to win one against 4th stringers! I'd have to take a seat for that team if my group of friends wanted to discuss great teams, but there's been plenty of good/decent teams that have won SB's. Not all are greats. I'm leaving college out of this, they don't have a playoff system relating to your Longhorns statement. If you win at least 3 playoff games, you win it all. By default, those teams are at least pretty good. You could stack up the 80's Giants, 80's Niners, and the 70's Steelers, and beating them'd be epic. But, I'd as soon take on any 3 that barely got in. I just want to the Bears to win. To beat who is placed in front of them. And do it legally. If beating a decimated team makes the Bears a loser...then say hello to another loser...
  16. That they are! but at least they have some semblance of a threatening running game... I've been witness to many a game in soldier that weren't remotely close. A few that were... This is a game we should win and win big. But, no would I be shocked if it were closer than we'd all like!
  17. Almost in retrospect, it's probably good we lost it. It was a big wake up call. And how the team has bounced back these past few weeks shows a ton of resiliancy. When we all looked at the schedule once announced, I think we all for the most part felt that 2-2 going into the bye would be about right. Well, we have a legit shot at going 3-1, and that's pretty darn good. Hopefully the lines can improve. If we can start seeing some meshing on the Ol particulary, we could be seriously very dangerous.
  18. I'm not even remotely worried about game 1. We could have won it if not for one bad defensive play...
  19. I really wouldn't doubt if Barry Sanders' kid's team could give it a whirl!
