  1. Ha! Yeah, the Browns look like a college team could beat them. Seriously.
  2. ...and let's not forget how lucky they were. 2 defenders bouncing off a journeyman RB for a score, a tipped passed that landed right into the paws of a Seattle defender, a missed Gould FG (granted it was long), double bonehead facemasks, false starts, etc... It goes both ways. We simply made more of our opportunities.
  3. Fair enough! But is watching a Raiders game really football? Sorry, Raiders fandom here in LA is ridiculous and I try to take a pot-shot on it whenever possible! Hey, I'm the same, I watch from 10AM until the Sunday night game is over...the only way I'd be watching a Raider game would be that it's the Sunday night game and I have no other option! With the the NFL ticket, I have too many options than to suffer an Oakland game!
  4. If Forte is hurting and the time off will help...then I've got no problem sitting him. Or maybe at mimimum, keep him on the sideline unless absolutely necessary.
  5. I hope your freind pays you to watch those Raiders games! I think I'd almost rather watch "Steel magnolias" w/ the wife! In fact, I thnk Dolly Parton could throw better than Russell despite the airbags in front of her! All kidding aside, the Riaders have a decent D, but their O is so atrocious, that it'll just be time before the D starts folding... Here in LA, people still follow the Raiders, so it's inevitable to hear a lot about them at the water cooler. My bottom 5 1. Browns - the worst hands down 2. St. Louis Lambs- These guys are horrible despite S. Jackson. 3. Chokeland Faders - decent D, putrid O. 4. Lionesses - Improving, but how can they not? 5. KC - just not enough talent there
  6. 1. The end result is the same. 2-1. How we lost in GB leaves too much of a sour taste for fans, but makes no difference in the record books. I honestly thought the Bears would be 1-2 at this point. I expected to split games w/ Minny and GB this season. 2. Agreed! In fact, I only see that fire happen at about half time for the past 3 weeks. To me, that is unaaceptable. That is on the coaching staff. I normally expect the Bears to come out strong, then falter w/ lack of adjustments. It's bizarro world right now. 3. Bingo!!! However, I unfortunatley didn't expect much from this coaching staff. Hoped, but not expected. 4. Yeah, this is really the biggest disappointment I think. 5. Agreed. But maybe that has much to do about Clark not being in there. I pretty much agree with your positives. I feel like the O is getting better every week despite the strange play calling from Turner. However, D really worries me. We can't keep hoping for missed FG's as teams continue to run at will on us until they decide to get tricky, pass, and make an error. If a team were to just run every down, we could be in serious trouble. This D cannot stop the run, and more scarily so, cannot tackle other than Briggs. Thankfully a better DL play this season has made a difference and we're at least doing better than the last 2 seasons. But, that's not saying a whole lot!
  7. Cleveland. But miles... Campell at least threw the ball to Moss. Quinn and Anderson threw only to Baltimore... But, St Louis might be the second worse with the Raiders close behind. Jamarcus Russell looks like a bigger bust than Leaf...
  8. Agreed. You just knew they were going to win at least one, and I didn't want it to be against us!
  9. Heck, anything can be argued barring a few rare exceptions! But, I hear ya...
  10. Can we package him in a trade? Seems to me someone would take a chance...
  11. The gyst I got was that he felt there are no real stars on the DL... No Sapp, no Rice. Harris being a shell of his former self...
  12. I feel like this is bizarro world! Seemed like in the past few years, Smith & crew would have a great first half plan, and then fail to make any adjustments until the last minute of a game. Now it's like they come in with no plan or heart, wake up, make adjustments, etc... I'm baffled. While I'm pleased that they are making adjustments. I'm still irritated that the team appears not to be ready to play for 3 weeks straight now.
  13. I caught it intermittantly... But he complained about the lack of oomph from the front 4 and how Anderson has not made the most of his opportunities. Seemed very disappointed in harris. Unfortunatly, I missed a lot...
  14. I see those same things... I wonder if the 'net were around back in 1985, would people have been bitchin' that Walter wasn't getting better YPC... This team is exciting now. Maybe too much so! But, right now, it's never going to be boring watching these guys. I'm thrilled. I htink we're a very competitive team. I don't believe we're in the upper echelon of the league, but we're in the top of the next tier. We have too many issues to be considered upper echelon, which we've pretty much all discussed (OL, tackling, play calling, running game, etc...) However, I, like many I think, are just waiting to see it play out. It seems like every week, the team is getting better. This week we got Olsen ont rack. Maybe this Sunday, Forte returns. I'm just excited for the season! I'm in Chicago Fri-Mon for the game this weekend, and I can't wait! I'm preparing to gain at least 5-10 pounds off the great eats and brews!
  15. We are definitely on the same page on this one... We seriously don't look ready to play when the coin is flipped. After about a quarter and a half, we awaken and start playing. This is on both sides of the ball. That is on the coaches.
  16. Injuries are part of the game. Always have been always will be. But logic dictates the more games you throw at players, the more chance they'll get hurt. And look at the ridiculousness of baseball. There are 90 millions game sin a season and an individual game matters not. I don't want that in the NFL. I'm obviously exagerating the issue...but 'd be happier if they went back to 14!
  17. My only thing is that the added injury dilutes the quality of the product on the field. If you're lucky enough to have season tickets, then buying 2 pre-season games is a small price of admission. I'd gladly do so.
  18. I simply think you bought into the used car-salesman's sales pitch on MM. Did you really think one guy was going to turn Rex into Montana and our other receivers into John Taylors? I only expected a vet that would be better than what we had, garnish some respect from officials and from opposing defenses. I think he did that.
  19. I think that's the crux of your argument, and where I simply just don't agree with you. I think we got red chip play and production given the circumstances. I'd even maybe settle for pink (a mix of red and white), but not white. You make it seem like any jabroni WR off any team could have done the same. You can make theories how another receiver would have done similar, but the fact is, you cannot prove that. I have no warm spot in my heart fro him, but I still think he was good more often than not given the cirumstances at the time.
  20. Very true. Lucky man indeed... And who knows, maybe he wasn't plowed. Maybe he was just driving like Mario Andretti and ate it.
