Ha! Other than saying Butkus is Lithuanian and so was Charles Bronson...most people think it's just a small island near Greece!
-
Believe you me, I won't when I feel it's necessary! I'm watching him and his staff with a microscope!
-
Good deal! I wish I had a better story for mine! I'm just mad as a hatter and of Lithuanian heritage!
-
Well said...

C'mon guys! You're taking away my venom for Smith's odd antics!

My friend in the bay area was thrilled for us when he landed in Chicago. he told me we were getting one hell of a player that Nolan couldn't figure out to do with...
-
Gotta ask...is that how you have the "lemonej' name?
-
True...it'll always be a punchline. We all know he got looped, wrecked the car, and bailed. He got lucky. But, as long as it doesn't happen again, I'll only really see it as a punchline. Good points.

Honestly, I'd commit myslef to 3 or 30. But for the good of the game, I don't think we need the guys going full bore for 2 more weeks. I understand the need for the owners and teams having pre-season. And yes injuries occur. But the time out there is limited and a little less full throttle. If the speculation were cut down, what would be do!?

fines handed out after the Bears Steelers game
madlithuanian replied to BearFan2000's topic in Bearstalk
The NFL got it right. Carter did it in the heat of the game at game speed. Anderson was stupid and did it retaliating after a play. -
I totally agree about Briggs and Url. Url's always never been able to really say the right things... And lead by example is great and all... But, as you mentioned, sometimes more is needed. Birggs is now in that position to become the next great Chicago LB, as some will argue he may already be. But if he turns into the vocal leader...watch out. This could get interesting! ...and I'm thrilled to hear Molten Lava is rockin' it as a rook!

Honestly, no need. Time to move on and put the concentration on this Sunday! ...and props to jason for the great "Stripes" reference!

We're deifnitely on the same page!
-
I just hope he doesn't get the somewhat usual treatment of guys we wait to see and never see the field for whatever reason the staff refuses to say.
-
I agree. Best to just move on as I mentioned earlier...

Terra's the Howard Stern of Bearstalk... If you're taking him too seriously, you're making a mistake. Sometmes he can be a little out of line, and sometimes he can be hilarious. Most the time it's a lot of the same ol' same ol'. Like Stern (before satellite), if you don't like it, (turn the channel) ignore his posts.

I can't argue against your points... Good analysis....

I think it's best we all just move on... As John Candy and Steve Martin said best after an uncomfortable moment in "Planes, Tain, and Automobiles": DEL & NEAL: "AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH NEAL: "See that Bears game last week?" DEL: "Yeah, hell of a game. Hell of a game. The Bears have a great team this year. They're gonna go all the way this year." http://www.adrianspeyer.com/planes.htm

I hear ya! I've always felt that a championship team on O needs a top QB and a top RB and/or WR. We've got the QB, I hope Forte can be the RB, and maybe between the likes of Olsen and Knox, we may have the WR.... Man, what fun this is! I cannot wait for Sunday!

The last names are the same and first names rhyme. Bad joke, nothing more I thought. I think back in that day, every player, including linemen, made that silly pose for PR!

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...smith_bears_ap/ Here's a link to Smith...
-
Oh, I wanted him big time! But in hindsight now, I'm glad we passed! I actually am starting to feel the same. Like our D and O lines, I'd prefer to build from the draft now. Agreed. I think this is the "test" year. Next year, we streamline... But, one can still hope the test results in a fine tuning in the playoffs!

Trust me, if we could have got a Rice or such in their prime, it'd be great! But, it wasn't in the cards. I've got no problem w/ Wale, I just didn't expect much. Fair enough... All that said, I'm just looking forward to the potential we have now! Knox could be a real steal... ...and I'm glad we didn't overspend to get Housh...

I have 2 tickets for sale currently on a Stub Hub auction for the United Club seats. They are section 212, row 10, seats 4-5. I'd be moe than happy to sell them to one of you guys here for what I paid. If any one is interested, please send me a private message. https://www.stubhub.com/chicago-bears-ticke...et_id=210305032 My other 2 seats are with a few other people I know, and the 2 people I thought were going to take those tickets bailed.

Welcome board! Was he a bigger flop than Ricky Manning Jr? Manning Jr. really couldn't even see the field unless an injury forced him out there. In 2005 MM caught a team high 64 passes for 750yds and 4 TDs. http://www.bearshistory.com/seasons/2005chicagobears.aspx In 2006 , he had 60 catches for 83 yds and 5 TD's. http://www.bearshistory.com/seasons/2006chicagobears.aspx Those aren't HoF numbers, but they were pretty good for our offensivly challenged Bears passing attack...especially given a rookie QB and Rex. Also, whith opposing teams knowing MM was our only real threat. I'm not saying MM is great. I'm just saying that he's not the worst or even bad. I did like the system overall we ran while Daniels played...but I htink I'd have rather seen Alex Brown play in that scheme. Daniels just never impressed me. And maybe that's just selective memory on my part.
