So true. Another option...why not a momunment of the player...and a representative momument to our soldiers? 2 for 1...

I'll be there for the Lions... It's an annual tradition for me.

Time to get Kellen davis his reps... Let's see what that mountain of a target can do!

I honestly do not know what to expect. But I am hoping for a rebound. The Steelers are somewhat ripe for the pickin'. 1. They won a very close and emotional game at home. It took a last second drvie from Big ben to get the win. 2. Without Polamalu, they have not had as strong a D. 3. They are on the road. While the Bears are obviously missing Urlacher, for the most part, all else is intact given last years' efforts by Roach, etc. 1. The Bears O should do better. Could it be worse? 2. Being at home will help and bring an air of familiarity. I hope the fans really cheer on the team something vicious! 3. The experience of the loss should hopefully prove to be a lesson learned. I imagine they want to rebound with a vengeance. Logic tells me that the defending SB champs with all their experience and savvy should win this. However, the bears have it in them to upset them. I hope they do...

That works for me too!

That pretty much sums it up!

One of the 3 floozies that "dated" Hugh Hefner on a reality show I think called "Girls next Door". Even by Hollywood standards, the plastic was quite obvious. ...and annoying as well. Oddly, my wife loved the show...probably to laugh at the idiocy of the 3 girls. At first I was game to watch given the generic subject matter, but it got old fast.

I've seen far too much of her. Half the posts on Grouchy's avatars look seriously far better!

That's a pretty good idea... Kinds of kills 2 birds w/ one stone.

I couldn't agree more... If they think he can play, get him in NOW! Or he'll be making game saving tackles for the Pats...

Smith deserves majority of blame for loss

I guess I'm about as sure as anyone else w/o inside info. But regardless of the 2 decent downs, the big play was a bad call. There should have been a serious thought that this is a playaction down. I know that playing madden for goodness sake! You know you've got 4-1 as worst if you don't connect. If you do, you win the game just as GB proved. I'm not sure how you honestly don't jab the coaches. I'm honestly placing blame on all parties. But because the team looked so ill prepared, I fault Smith for that. This exact thing happens 15 more times and even Bill Walsh would be fired. To answer your questions: - We were going to play an offense expected to be elite ( I didn't expect it to be elite. Just becasue you light up pre-season doesn't mean it'll translate into the regular season. I'm simply not sold on the packer love-fest on offense.) - We were going to lose one starting LB, who stood out throughout preseason, in the 1st series. (That sucked, but we did have depth there.) - We would lose another LB, our pro bowl captain, before halftime. (This just pains me reading it...) - We would turn the ball over on offense 4 or 5 times. (Ridiculous. Regardless if Cutler/WR issues...it's just ridiculous. Good teams do not do that.) - Due to offense and special teams, our defense would take the field in bad field position. (Agai, a shocker for the most part.) If I told you all this, how many points do you think you would have predicted GB would put up on us? 50? 60? (Yes, I would have thought they put up more points. And the defense deserves credit for that. However they have a win and we have a loss. You only need 1 more point than your oopnent no matter how many or few yards or points you put up. Our D folded when it counted most. Our O actually gave us a fighting chance at the end of the game. I believe our O will come together. My question is, will the D fall apart? Again?) -

Always. But I just hate trying to rationalize a poor play call and poor play on the field. part of calling the right play is knowing your players' strengths and weanesses...and that was not accounted for with 2 min to go... -

We just disagree about Smith's part in the loss. It was winnable, but the team came in ill prepared, and that, to me is on the HC. Or at least as much blame as the players themselves. But yeah, if we go below .500, Smith should be canned. -

I hear you...but I just can't give Smith a pass. There is a history of this. The O was not prepared. Blame goes to everyone involved. The players, Turner, and Smith. The D played great for 58 min, but made the biggest blunder when they couldn't. When it all counted, they broke down yet again. We saw this happen numerous times in the previous years. If this was the first, you just chalk it up to bad luck. But when it happens too many times, I look at the HC as a problem. Again, I'm giving Smith a chance to redeem himself this season. And one game does not tell the full story. We'll know by week 8 what we really have in Smith. Either a guy who is the latest version of Wayne Fontes (just doing well enough to keep his job), or a real NFL HC that has learned from his errors. -

Too damn many... -
And let's not forget, D deserves blame too. It's great to play solid for 58 minutes...but when the game is on the line, you need to play 2 more, and the D folded yet again. One stop was needed and they marched up to the 50 w/ ease and then caught us w/ our pants down. It's like a guy in b-ball hitting all his free throws and then when there's no more time, he misses the 2 to clinch the win. If he does that game in and game out, then I don't want him making free throws. His % might be good, but he doesn't come through in the clutch.

I hear ya. Stats are nice and all, and it's great to play well for most of the game. But when the game is on the line, we played awful. By playcall or by playing. It matters not. Big teams win big games. We're not a big team at the moment. -

I'm just constantly baffled by this coaching staff... -
The receivers were awful! Clark was especially hideous...

Fair enough. But that team was not ready to play on O. And even though Smith is calling the D, it doesn't mean as HC he can ignore the O. As much as it's on Turner, Turner is on Smith's watch.
