Vikings Suspensions Might Get Handed Down Today
madlithuanian replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
I guess buyer beware... If the letter of the law says, you are are ultimately the one responsible for goes into your body, then that's it. It sucks that the product lied to it's customers, and should be prosecuted justly for such...but the damage is done. I still do have an issue, as you mention, that the league hotline said it's OK. I guess I'd need to know the exact details... ie. What is the hotline's power? Is it just a "reccomendation"? What was exactly stated, etc... Given what you are saying, I'd have no problem letting the 2 fat Viqueen cheaters off on a technicality. But, nor do I have issue with holding them to the letter of the law that they are the one ultimately responsible for goes into their systems. -

If that's the case, then it is on the NFL. But I seem to recall that it was "we don't think there is"...or am I mistaken? -

I just look at it as to who is ultimately responsible. And that is the player. If you don't know that it is 100% OK to do, don't do it. -

Point well made! -

Actually it's good! The early games have better odds of weaker teams "stealing" a game like we did to Indy last year... -
Sweet indeed! But for me, dessert is always an afterthought... It's the 16 oz. bone-in filet mignon entre that is Cutler!
-
Isn't all the rest just free dessert with the meal?

Let's not give the brain trust that much credit! ...yet!
-
I don't see why not. Although I think a playcall from the OC that isn't completely moronic would work even better. I think we all know what I'm referring to...
-
Nothing unusual there. Some jackass on the Lions always predicts something lofty.

I love Forte!

He's always been a smart player and hard worker, but I just have never ben enthralled. I think he lacks too much speed and athleticism. And he's slowed down even more recently. Part of what helped him succeed was the front four when playing well and obviously Urlacher, Briggs and M. Brown. I've been trying to replace him for years! I wanted Derrick Johnson a few years back to name one instance. I'm just ready for a change there...have been for a while.
-
Agreed. A true blocker has been needed and he appears to fit that role. I hope they do limit his touches though. He's been a bit of a fumbler. Didn't he caugh up the ball in Soldier last year and helped us seal the game?
-
I basically agree. It seems to me, he "got the memo". That is knowing we have to do more. He certainly has this off-season. Maybe he's turned the corner as a GM. We cannot hold pat and "hope". We need to continue to make strides. I hope the memo gets passed along to the coaching staff! i still have my concerns in that department. But, It's truly been a while since I've been this excited to have the season start! It'll be a long 3 months! In the menatime, maybe the Blackhawks can bring the cup back to Chicago...what the heck.

Bears agree to terms with tight end Michael Gaines

Good solid pick up! I sure hope it's the end of McKie... -
I read that article earlier today. I really have not been happy w/ Hilly and Roach...if the guy can come in and play that role, I'd be all for it. I would imagine cap space is not the issue.
-
Agreed. Glad it worked out that way in the long run.
-
I hear ya Pix. I think the handling of the WR corps last season will go done as one of the largest mysteries of this coaching staff's tenure.

Funny! Although I think you may be off in your description. I live in LA, LA fans are fickle. Chicago fans, while some can be unreasonable and harsh, aren't fickle. They want to see their team win and not flail around. Some may want to throw the baby out with the bathwater as you perfectly explain, but all LOVE their Bears team. I was hard pressed to see the Laker flags flying during the Sedale Threat years here. That's fickle. Wanting your QB to be perfect and thinking you know everything is just unreasonable. I believe virtally all Bears fans are "true"...just some are more reasonable in expectations than others. May I suggest a some better terms: 1. Harsh? 2. Unreasonable?

I'm still game for brining Jurevicious, but overall, I like your game plan.
-
I agree. He didn't need all the colofrful metaphors...but it still had me in stitches!
-
Glad to be the catalyst!

Quite true! My freind actually had picked Atlanta as a lark on a Vegas trip and was rooting like crazy in the playoffs for his $5 to turn into $1,000! I made a little loot myself in 2000 when I picked the Ravens. It does happen...just not that often I don't think. I really didn't think of Turner...and you are 100% correct. Heck, this entrie coaching staff got the keys to the new car, now if they can't win the race w/ s supdr-up Porsche, it's time to bring in a better driving team! I can understand your dislike of the Parcells tree. I'm not a big fan...I just respect what they've done for the most part. And somewhat jelous that we've never had a coaching tree come from the Bears. The wrong branches broke off...
