I only offer realism for draft picks 7 and lower! While Cutler isn't jesus, he sure reminds me a whole lot of a Johnny Unitas! And let's not forget that Gilbert is just a poor man's mix of Hampton and Dent! I agree...
-
Yeah, but then where would I find the room for Rice!
-
Great points!

Let's be honest before we get too far along... Odds are they guy won't make the team. But it's fun to speculate!
-
I think they were pre-season favorites in Vegas before the (eventual) move. I have no issue going up agasint better opponents. That which does not kill you, makes you stronger...
-
Agreed! BRING IT! I have no problem facing a better team in our division. We will either learn from it or rise above. The greater the challenge in the regular season, the lesser the possibility for disappointment in the post... Let's destroy MINNY!

Bulls are making me old before my time

I think there will be improvement next year. (At least I hope so!) But I also think the roster will change up. Something tells me Gordon will be gone and that if the right offer came in, so could Deng. -
I hear ya! Actually, I think Minny has a winning record agasint us historically. So, even more reason to hate them!
-
Are we going to up Cutler's contract this year? I really don't think so. Maybe we do. Even if we do, I'm sure there will still be enough space to sign an aging player looking to prove himself. Do I really want him? Not particularly. But it's worth looking into I feel. Just to discount the guy and age, etc I think is a mistake. Do I think he's better than Wale? He was. Not sure he is now, but it'd be interesting to see it play out. It's apparentl Smith and JA are desperate to fix the DL. Nothing they do in that area would surprise me.
-
My gut feeling is that the game's premier diva will come back to Minny as expected last year. Here's hoping we can send him to the hospital fair and square if he returns!!! We'd have 2 shots at making him wish he never decided to play again. Man, I never thought I'd say this, but as long as it doesn't impact the divisional standings...I'd probably root for Green Bay for 2 games this year if this becomes reality.

I hear ya. I guess my thought is we have a boat load of cap space, why not see if he can be had for small $, and if he needs to be cut before final cuts at the onset of the season, then cut him. But what if he's better than Wale?
-
Until the last rounds of cuts, I think there's roster room. If he's not cutting it, cut him. It all depends on the $ he's asking for... What if he's leaps and bounds better than Wale?
-
Could he not help teach some of these young kids the ropes? It's not like our group was tearing it up last season...
-
If we can get him on the cheap, he may have a lot to prove...and he's part of the Marinelli/Smith connection. Plus he's a local guy too... Why not...

I agree on Kruetz and mostly on Urlacher. But let's not forget Andre Tippet just got in. Dude was good, but in my honest opinion, not HoF good. So, I think Urlacher compares to him a bit. I also think if Url puts in 3-5 more years as mentioned, maybe another SB run, and at least one more kick ass year, he could get there. Name recognition is a huge factor don't forget. Mix in his position, his stats, the team he plays for, etc...and it could make a case of HoF entry. But not yet...
-
Agreed!

Questionable. If Dent can't get in...I'm not sure those 2 are locks w/o a little more on their resumes.

People in glass houses... I think all of us can say that the Bulls surprised us. I thought they would get swept even With KG on the bench. The young Bulls showed alot of heart and moxie. I think you're right that eventually experience won out. But, the Bulls can take pride they pushed a very good team to the limits and showed that they deserved to be there and can compete with the best of 'em. I'm sure changes will be made, but it does look like a nice upswing for Chicago. -
ACK!! Please forgive me! 89 Should have been retired eons ago as well! I say 50, 89 and 99 need to be hung up!
-
lemonej brought up an interesting point during the post on the new rookies' numbers and Moore having Mike Brown's old number. And then mentioned other instances in the past... I have no problem with it. However, my thought is that if the players' number in question is in the HoF, we should retire that jersey! Ie. 99 needs to be retired NOW!
-
I think it'd rather see the one armed man from "Fugitive" than Davis...
-
Either he's waiting for Favre to sign, or he's showing off his diva-ness and red flags many drafters were worried about. May they experience no less than what we did w/ Benson! Couldn't happen to a better team.
-
He sure has the lock on experience dropping passes...
-
If it were single malt and a cigar...and if they won, he'd have been safe!

Gotcha. I live in LA, and many of my local freinds are USC or UCLA guys. In turn, I get to know their players a lot. I went to Cal Poly SLO, so I can handle the rare few from there as well. With my dad an Illini alum, I follow them a bit. Additionally, there's a few OSU guys at work that keep me posted. I'm happy to contribute with what I can! Sounds like we'll just pool it all together at the end...
