  1. atta-boy Jay! Get some! I'd like to see a throwdown between Kyle, Jimmy Mac and Jay. Something tells me the Irishman wins... As ong as he didn't drive home, that's all I care about!
  2. Sorry Pix, that was funny! Keep it in context, the Onion is what it is!
  3. May I suggest for round 2, that you implement draft times. Maybe at least 2 per day. One due by noon and the other by 5? That way someone knows their pick is up. If they miss it, we could have you make the pick? Or just go next in line in your overall rankings... ?
  4. I see 3-2. GB will be tough...everything gets thown out agasint them. I assume a split for the season. Home teams win. I could see 5-0 start, but also a 1-4. There's just no way we lose to the Kitty Cats.. Smart money I think says 3-2 being conservative.
  5. Unfortunately, we're 2 years removed from when that was happening on a regular basis. I hope we can return to form!
  6. On any given Sunday really, but don't count the eggs before they're hatched... Pit should and probably will beat us as they are a better overall team. For AZ ,we probably will be favored, and probably should win. But let's not forget how pourous our pass D was and how great the likes of Fitz and Bouldin are. This could end up as a shoot-out game like the old Ken O'Brien v. Dan Marino games of old... I'll be super curious how Smith decides to right the ship on D. I expect better D line play w/ Marinelli, but I have no idea about the LB's and secondary. We'll see if Smith is worth his price.
  7. I don't deny the rankings...but the defense really failed more than the offense. But maybe that's about putting things in perspective. Did you think the offense would be any good? Did you think Forte would be that good? I sure didn't! So, by virture Orton wasn't turning the ball over like Grossman, and that Forte was much much better than Benson...they exceeded expectation. However, on the D-side, we expect our big stars who all got paid big bucks to kick butt. They in fact, got their butts kicked. Maybe the D was technically better, but in all reality they were probably the biggest disappointment and failure of any team at any category last year.
  8. I don't live in Chicago now, but I do know if you go to www.Pandora.com you can stream some really good blues and other music...
  9. I personally think it's both. We've had average talent on O, and average coordinators on O. Now, thankfully, with Forte, Cutler and Olsen, we are above average on talent. Now, it's time for Turner to put up or get out of town. He can no longer use lack of talent (Other than his own) for reasons why this offense is not explosive...assuming it's not. (Which I think it will be explosive.) Those few playes are what you call "lowlight plays". The few that are carved into the memory banks... There were other poor ones too, but those were amoung the poorest. There were also player error and great plays too! Turner is not a fool, but I wonder how much Smith is telling him to make it vanilla and how much is on his own accord? He's not the worst. But he's not close to the best either. personally, I want better. But he's who we've got, and I hope he gets it done. I expect something good as well...either because or despite the coaching.
  10. I could be wrong, but I could swear that Wolfe was run up the gut on 2 occassions, both in our own territory. I could be wrong... But also, that's a pretty horrid error. It wasn't even a draw where you try to fool the D. It was a play for Earl Campbell only. Turner also runs that FB play during the only times we're in the red zone and in crucial 3rd downs. It's not like on 1st to catch someone off guard. It's right when it's expected most. If I'm calling it on my couch, there's no doubt the opponenet's D coor is calling it too. Just to clarify, are your stats offensive or overall team scoring? Other than maybe the first half of 2006, the offense has been pretty mediocre. Not bad, not good, but just there. The 14th and 18th ranking pretty much means we're right in the middle...mediocre. 2006 was odd...and I think your numbers may have defensive and ST scoring in there.
  11. I do agree... I think "due times" would have helped... Right now, there's no way to tell if you're up without beeing logged into a computer. I see no reason we can't continue on. It's a lot of dead air until the draft!
  12. Hold your horses fellas! I was away at my folks' place for Easter w/ no net access. If these things fall on a holiday, some semblance of a longer tims is expected...or else we need to simply give an exact time a pick is due by. Regardless, after much discussion w/ a few Ravens fans, they have decided to shore up the receiving corps, and go with a local product... The Ravens select D. Heyward-Bey WR, Maryland
  13. I'll be honest, I don't know! I was just generally welcoming the new member to the board! I'm not on facebook, so I'm about as clueless as it gets! I still use an abacus to add!
  14. Yeah, @GB is the opening Sunday game in the evening. I plan on taking Monday off!
  15. I've seen them in LA (when the Rams were still here) and Arizona on the road. Both were friendly environments.
  16. Your expectation is correct! The Bears trade picks 2, 4, and 3 next year and leap up to take....nah! Upon discussing the pick w/ some friends that are NE fans, they made it clear they wanted to grrom the next LB as Bruschi is on the downward swing. The Pats select the next great Lithuanian linebacker, J. Laurinaitis, OSU.
  17. Have you been to either place as a fan rooting on the visiting team (Bears)? I've never been to Seattle... SF, love the city, but hate most the sports fans. They are among the worse IMO. There are good ones, but too many are bad.
  18. At least when we spend, we do so wisely! I'm not. I've had too many run-in's w/ SF fans... They are generally poor sports and bandwagoners when you're playing against them. (GB fans will rib you, but respect the tradition of the rivalry.) I've been close to throwing down about 3 times with unruly SF fans. Some are really nice, but there are too many that spoil the whole thing. If you go, I highly advise trying to see where the visiting team sits. The city is really cool and fun. If you go, let me know and I can point you to a few fun bars/etc... Are you planning on going? Maybe if I knew there were saftely in numbers...! I am planning on flying back to Chicago for the home opener though. I prefer being in OUR element!
  19. Is this still going on? Seems like interest has seriously waned and picks are coming with the frequency of Haley's Comet...
  20. As was I! My wife bought it for me with the 15% and is holding it until my b-day in Aug... As long as I have it on opening Sunday night, I'll be a happy man! (road white...)
  21. Just read that he's selling jerseys off the shelves! 1,800 sold on line in his first week, where TO only sold 600 in 2 weeks...
