Colts freeing up space
I generally am in agreement with you guys on this one... But I could swear that early in his career, Moose was a #1 guy in Carloina.

Yeah....I see Miller as trade bait next season abd generally like him. I don't see Thomas working out. At least anything past this season...

Tank Johnson Returning to the Bears?
I say "no" to ass-hats!

Article on Lovie Smith Interview...
Agreed on Hanie... I liked his moxie last pre-season. I hope to see some improvement.

Sounds like Bears are trying to lock down St. Clair
Thanks for the post! That's some good news! Albeit, not groundbreaking, but solid.

Asomugha signed
Hmmmm...might be worth looking into, thoughts?

Thanks for the update! I'm just sadened by the downward spiral of the Bulss as a whole. I love Rose,etc...but dang. It's just not well run I feel.

I know...logic dictates that you are spot on in your assessments. My comment is more of a gut reaction. It just seems when guys are out there to be had, our franchises (maybe other than baseball and ackk...Ben Wallace) tend not to land a big name. Off promt a bit, and living in LA...Kobe could have been had at the right time for the right price. I'm honestly not a guy who likes to see a team be a FA landing pad like the Redskins. But, it just seems like these are roads seldom travelled by the team. Could we not check in and see about Peppers, Housh, Boldin? I just don't see it happening. To me, a good GM looks at ALL options, almost regardless how silly. What if what was preceived to be silly is in actuallity, doable? I just don't get that vibe... I feel like JA (...and I'm not intetionally intending to say "jackass"...yeah, I am...guilty) seems burned by some of those moves and refuses now to do them. He seems caught up in his own hype of finding diamonds in the rough after striking gold (which has now lost it's lustre) in Hester... I think really...I'm just venting again, and I apologize for flogging the dead horse.

Round 1 Choice
Love the post Ashkum! I will vote with my cranium first... I agree w/ Oher 100% and think you nailed the profile. I, as many already know, will now vote with my heart...and that is Laurinaitis. I fear we may lose Urlacher very soon, and he has the pedigree and toughness to fill in those shoes. We can work him in certain schemes in other parts of the D (OLB in certain schemes...maybe even DE on occassion....give Url some rest...) I loved our last Lithuanian LB, Dick Butkus, so as my namesake states...you can well imagine I'm fully biassed! He basically doesn't help us now, but he helps us in the next few years. I see him doing what Harrison did for PIT before Porter got shipped to Miami...

I wouldn't mind the Bears showing some interest...however, something tells me they won't. I hate to feel so negative...but it just seems like there's a pro sports flu going around this town that prohibits GM's from making any trades of any real oomph...

Fred Taylor or Duece McAlister
I'm completely with you on this jason... I harbor no faith what-so-ever in our coaching staff's ability to judge talent and scheme on offense. (Heck, I can make an arguement on D as well...but that's for another thread). We could have Barry Sanders and Smith would figure out ways to keep him on the bench... I'm so furious at this coaching staff I don't even know where to begin...

Bears targing Another Tackle in draft
I take Oher... Too much risk for Sanchez if Oher is available in the same slot. If Oher's gone and a copule others are too...then I'd seriously take a look at Sanchez.

I guess that is true... I think you are correct.

With all the talk of moving Tillman to FS
I think a lot needs to be seen from him before you can say that... He may have lost quite a bit while in prison. Additionally, he was struggling in ATL before the arrest...and there was talk of him getting benched as I had a few friends from the Atlanta area mention to me (Ie. Don't pick him in fantasy!). I think the potential is there...but I think buyer beware...

Colts freeing up space
It gives Marv the bigger black eye... The league can't really do anything...but the fans and writers can.

Colts freeing up space
From my understanding, I think you're right. If something came of the lawsuit, the NFL could step in then I believe. I would imagine it's basically over unless new evidence comes to light...

With all the talk of moving Tillman to FS
Dunta just got tagged.... TEXANS TAG DUNTA Posted by Mike Florio on February 19, 2009, 11:54 a.m. The Houston Texans have joined the game of tag, becoming the eleventh team to use the franchise designation on one of their impending free agents. According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle and Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Texans have applied the tag to cornerback Dunta Robinson. The move makes Robinson eligible for a one-year contract, with a salary of $9.957 million. If he accepts the tender, the salary is fully guaranteed. Not bad for a guy who’s knee exploded 15 months ago. The number represents the average of the five highest 2008 cap numbers at the position. It comes from the following quintet of corners: Champ Bailey, $12.19 million; Chris McAlister, $10.9 million; Nnamdi Asomugha, $9.765 million; Asante Samuel, $8.645 million; Patrick Surtain, $8.28 million.

Atogwe tagged...
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...,0,102718.story No safety to be had in St. Louis By Vaughn McClure February 19, 2009 If the Bears were hoping to find Mike Brown's replacement in St. Louis, they better start looking elsewhere. The Rams slapped the franchise tag on free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe, as reported by the NFL Network. Atogwe would have been a top free-agent target, and the Rams had no other choice after not agreeing to a long-term deal with the defensive standout. Atogwe led the Rams with eight interceptions this season. The Bears' trio of Brown, Kevin Payne and Craig Steltz had seven combined. Other options might arise as free agency nears, but the Bears are sure to do their homework at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. The safeties work out on Tuesday, led by William Moore (6-0, 223) from Missouri.

Overall, I agree... Do you know his status in regards to the shooting charge? Is that over?

I hear ya... On both counts.

With all the talk of moving Tillman to FS
I like McAlister and Florence for the right price... Bly and Madison I think are too far past their prime... PacMan needs to be sent packin' to a different league altogether...

Peppers
oh well...didn't think we really had a shot to beging with.

Haynesworth
Yep...same here. And I still can't get the image of that buffoon stepping on another player's cranium well after a play...
