  1. I generally agree. Somthing tells me the best of AP is in the past...
  2. And that position is nickel! He's strived there, whereas as S, he's always struggled. And I think he's had more reps as S!
  3. Lack of adjustment has been and will be a Smith problem. I htink if Smith were DC for Pitt...the Cards would be hoisting the trophy. I don't know Dick LeBeau. But, I do know that Smith is no Dick.
  4. I got bored and tried to read some of your and Lucky's dead horse flogging... You're one statement here really struck a chord... I could not agree more and think this is an indictment on this staff and management in general.
  5. Do Hester and Davis really run crisp routes? I honestly don't know...
  6. I think his game speed is much better... Biran also make the good point that Fitz didn't light up the drill either...
  7. He'd make a fantastic back-up to Orton. And probably push Orton at the same time. It should be an open competition at QB w/ Orton as the frontrunner...
  8. My fear is we drop all these guys and what will we get to replace them?
  9. He's from my college alma-matter... I like him. I don't think he'd be difficult to grab later... I think well worth the project.
  10. I copy/pasted form the source... Not to mention, it was the only real news we've heard about the Bears besides pure speculation on FA's and the draft...
  11. BEARS SIGN BASANEZ Posted by Mike Florio on February 3, 2009, 3:15 p.m. Though there could be plenty of free-agent options on the market once the annual signing period opens later this month, the Bears have gotten a head start by adding to the offseason roster quarterback Brett Basanez. The team announced on Tuesday the signing of the former Northwestern quarterback. Basanez previously played for the Panthers. He spent most of the 2006 season on the practice squad, all of the 2007 season on injured reserve, and all of the 2008 season on the practice squad. Basanez was the Big Ten offensive player of the year in 2005. It’s unknown whether Kyle Orton will continue as the team’s starting quarterback. Rex Grossman, who led the team to a Super Bowl appearance two years ago, is due to be a free agent again after signing a one-year deal to stay with the Bears after his rookie deal expired following the 2007 season.
  12. Exactly! Nothing will come easy for this club...
  13. i really don't know... Much will depend on how bad Vasher wants to be a contributing bear, and how much he thinks he could get elsewhere...
  14. All of which should be at least somewhat better next year than last... We only need look at AZ and ATL to see the turnaround many teams have. It's basically too early to tell... It could be harder, but nothing for this Bears teams will come easy.
  15. My family (both on my mom's and dad's side) immigrated to Chicago from Lithuania fleeing Stalin's regime during WWII. They moved to California right when I was born as my soc sec. card is from Ill. Spent many summers and a few cold winters with family in Chicago. So I always consider it my home away from home. I still have a few relatives, but a good handful of friends in the Chicago area. So the moment I started expressing love of football, my dad sat me down and had me watch Walter run... Sold ever since. I have tended to go back at least once a year to visit and try to catch a Bears game. Always iun the fall! I like to avoid winter and summer! In LA, they had the Rams still and the Raiders in the early 80's. But I actually was raised in Ventura, CA, which is further north, but not far enough to be a SF fan... So I felt I was a bit in no man's land...thus, I adhered to my family's team. As did most of my freinds in the area. My dad went to college w/ Butkus and hung around in some of the same circles...and that's how he got into the Bears. Before that, his European background only had him a fan of basketball (as many may know of some of the success the Lithuanian national team has had in some of the Olympics) and soccer. Thankfully, I only had to suffer about 6 years before the Bears started getting good in the early 80's! But, always having Walter made the pain far more bearable!
  16. I figure the Bears would be in the mix of possibilities. I wouldn't mind if the price is right...
  17. Just more fuel for Steelers haters!
