  1. Dude, ANY game agasint our hated rivals matters. F the Fudgies! Go Bears!
  2. Agreed... I'll keep a lookout! Bring a win!
  3. Agreed. I really don't harbor the hatred for teams that basically suck. It's the ones that are good that are thorns in one's side... Last I checked, Detorit and Minny don't have any rings...next.
  4. Thanks for the post Connor! Good read. I wonder if there's a good possibility he'll be our HC after Smith's contract is up... Fits the mold somewhat... He'll be had fairly cheap coming in w/o any HC experience...
  5. Well put nfo... Expectations change as more information become available. I predicted 6-7 wins... and like you said, predicated on lack of offense. And while the offense has provided some reason for joy, the D is so awfully below expectation, that it does more than wash the good. Also retirns on ST have been far below expectation until late... I see this season as a wash. We gained some ground, and lost some ground and are pretty much a shade better than last year due to Forte being much better than Benson. Are we on an upward swing or on the downward sprial? I honestly do not know. The record only tells part of the story, which part of having one of the easiest schedules in the NFL...
  6. So sad... Prepare yourself for 2 more years of this at least...
  7. If Turner heard what I shoueted at him at the TV, I'd probably be arrested...
  8. Not I. I despise Green Bay more than any team that's ever played in the NFL... I dislike Minny too, but they're not even close to GB in terms of dislike. Minny's been a minor gnat... JUst let me know when they win a Super Bowl. Whereas Green Bay has far more history of F'ing us. In more recent year...the Jim McMahon cheap shot, Favre, Favre, Favre... I'm just ill thikning of potentially losing to those JA's...
  9. I thought it was a good assessment as well by Haugh. ALthough the rest is a bit of a rosier picture than I'd paint. We've certianly done better than initial expectations, but once those positive were set in motion (Orton, Forte, etc), this coaching staff botched far too many games... It's the old good teams find ways to win, and bad ones, ways to lose. PIT is winning those kinds of games, we're losing them.
  10. I actually have heard similar! I'd love to think they'll lay down for us, but they won't I'm sure! I just hope your bank is solvent! Let me know on Tuesday where I should deposit funds!
  11. Actually, I did once, but I can't remember the exact game, but I know we lost that game. So I felt it safer to predict a loss, and then we won. So I'm keeping to that... Plus, given what happens on Sunday, there could be added incentive on GB's part to spoil our hopes... So far in games we've had to win in our division, we're not so good... When it comes to divisonal games, especially the Packers, you can kind of throw the records out the window at this time of the year. While not that great, they aren't that bad. I'll hope and think we can win...but I fear the worst.
  12. It may depend on Minny on what happens...but I fear GB will play their hearts out to spoil our parade... 24- 21 GB
  13. I remember it well. But that was so bizarre and flukley, that it could have heppend while chasing a puppy in his yard... The odds of that happening again to a pro athlete are probably smaller than winning a lottery... I mean, if that happened with flag in the sand, then wouldn't you in theory want to bar any physical activity but that which happens in an actual game? It's kind of like not allowing you son/daughter to drive because accidents have happened on the road previously. Bottom line, S happens... But, at least in a showcase, there would appear to be far less of a possibility for serious injury. And going back to the driving...you try to make sure your children get a safe car, wear seatbelts, teach them dangers of drinking/driving,etc...to lessen danger. You can't stop fukes...
  14. Agreed. It's the old addage...good teams find ways to win, bad teams find ways to lose.
  15. http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com...nian-style.html Saturday, December 13, 2008 Hell’s Angels — Lithuanian Style My thanks to "thedweeze" for forwarding this story by Michael Yon, our 21st Century Ernie Pyle who has already tempted fate a hundred times just like Ernie, always too far forward for his own good. Here, http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/on-the-front-...tan-part-two/2/, in the second part of a series on Afghanistan, Yon describes the Lithuanian Special Forces: Hell’s Angels — Lithuanian Style U.S. and Afghan soldiers in Zabul Province give high marks to the Lithuanian Special Forces, who like to ride these captured Taliban motorbikes to sneak up on, and chase Taliban fighters. The “LithSof” are on their way to becoming living legends: Both Afghans and Americans report that the Taliban are afraid of the Lithuanians. Stories about them are filled with dangerous escapades and humor. Americans say that the Lithuanians are sort of a weaponized version of Borat, who think nothing of sauntering around a base in nothing but flip-flops and underwear. “They look like mountain men. They never shave, sometimes don’t bathe, and often roll out the gate wearing nothing but body armor and weapons. Not even a t-shirt,” an American soldier told me. The Lithuanians may be a little bit nuts, but the Americans love to have them around because Lithuanians love to fight, and when you need backup, you can count on them. That contrasts starkly with many of the NATO “partners.” Maybe when your country spends almost a half-century with the Soviet boot on its neck, its first generation of free soldiers know what freedom is worth — and that you sometimes have to fight for it.
  16. I feel your pain BearSox! Those thoughts have crossed my mind as well... Although, I always shake it off. I want guys like Forte, Olsen, and Orton to do well. I htink we need them to do well. To show that we have a future. If all is dire, while it would expedite Smith's departure...it won't happen soon enough, and means we will have even more holes to fill. I honestly do not believe we will make the playoffs. We cast that in stone virtually when we played severly uninspired games against GB and MIN. I never like not being in control of our own destiny, but while there's still a shot, I'll be rooting the players on with all my might on Monday and next Sunday! And even without a shot at post-season, I'll still be rooting like a madman... It's Green Bay dammit! ...and F Houston as well! Bear down!
  17. Our own coaches scare me more than any other team...besides the Steelers. They are tough, and winning games however they can. They are dangerous.
  18. Devil... Die Hard is fun escapism. Devil is a really good movie, very well written, very well acted, and some very nice visual effects.
  19. I'm getting confused with all these Ocho Cinco topics! Yes, I'd consider it for 2 2nds basically. I'm real hesitant to give up a 1st...
  20. I'd chance it with Chad before I'd do so with TO. I'd give up 2 2nds... Maybe one first, if we got a 3rd back. I fear shenanigans...but not as much as I did with TO. Maybe Johnson can be sold on the element that if he tries hard, he could be the next Rodman here...
