Yep...sad, but true. I fear Brees big time the way our D is playing this season. I need to see more than just beating on the Lambs for me to feel much better.
-
Thanks for clarifying that!
-
Forte should be in the pro bowl at this point in the season...
-
I don't recall 100%, but Harrison was in only a few times. The other NT was usually Dusty... But I started to see stunts! One of the Ogun sacks was just that... I really feel it's all of the above...

Both. THe BEars did play well (other than a little stiff in the passing game), but the Rams are awful. Let's not forget that this is the same team SF trounced a week ago. I love the win, but let's not make it more than it is. We still need to prove our mettle agasint Minny.

Done and the result was a 10+ yd gain. Success!

PFW: Vasher, Dvoracek are primary culprits in defense's demise

I hear ya! As you say, this sad state of affairs has just got many of us confused and feeling abused... -

Guilty as charged... -
After much painful thinking, I think the Bears will win. But it will be uncomfortabley close. I see something like 31-28 I see Forte having a 100 yard game. Yet, see a different Bear score at GL, probably McKie as it's been done all year. I see Davis having a good day. Also Olsen. Thus, so will Kyle. The dfense will stop the run again...and give up the pass again. However, with the Rams having a bad O line, I think there's a chance for a few big plays for us that could result in some much needed turnovers. I see us getting out to a good start, sputter in the middle through the mid-4th...and then have a drive towards the end of the game that wins it. It's really the MO we've had all season long. I see little reason to expect different. One element that will help, is that Manning should get some decent returns. The result will be similar to teams kicking away from Hester as they did early on in the season. Bears won't cover the spread, but hopefully should take the win. Bear down.

To add my 2 deflated cents... The truth lies in the middle. I do not think the player "hit" Hester. However, instead of either helping the fall, or bear hugging him, he put his arms up, in a not-so-defensive stance, and took Hester off his feet. I'm an old metal-head. I've been in my fair share of pits in my lifetime. When a lunatic comes at you, you do exactly what that player did and agressively give the guy a little shove, with a baisc intention of just protecting yourself. In this case, a guy wieging about 1/3 of his size just needed a little bear hug, and it I think it deserved a fine. Perception is a lot, and you need to send a message that even perceived violence from someone on the sideline will not be tolerated.

Honestly, I don't think there was a soul on this board saying THAT. I, and a few others, made mention that Dusty wasn't that much of a downgrade from Tank Johnson. I may eat an egg, but I don't think that calls for full on crow... And I still feel it has more to do with our horrific scheme (or lack thereof) than the actual play... But, I'm not happy with his last perfromance and think he should ride the pine on Sunday and only get in to spell some of the other guys. -

I do agree that Peterson's been the consumate team player. But this was a game out of reach. Peterson should be utilized if we needed some real production. In a situation like last week, it's time to let some other guys show what they have. Guys like Wolfe... I respect giving Peterson touches, etc on some level. But, I'm sorry. This is an issue. It's just another of far too many examples of why this coaching staff is failing the club. -
You are more correct than you think! We "were in first place".

Regarding Angelo...if his staff can't develop players...isn't that a mark agasint him? So even if he did draft a player that is doing well elsewhere, by virtue of not having a good enough staff to dring that about while here in Chicago, doesn't that mean Angelo has failed on that pick? Maybe it's just semantics... But it's nice to draft a Gage (can't actually remember if that was Angelo), but if he's not contributing to your team, he is a bust in my opinion. And it's a blemish on the person who drafted him. If you know your p*** poor coaching staff can't coach Jerry Rice right, why bother to draft a WR? Or more importantly, why do you have a p*** poor coaching staff? Sorry, venting again... But the buck doesn't stop solely at Smith. It goes up the food chain to Angelo and the bean counter too. Sell, sweet Virginia, sell.

Unfortunately, I see him sitting next to Wolfe on the bench staring at one another wondering why they aren't getting onto the field...

That's a pretty darn big "IF"...

Ha! True enough! Yeah...I'm in the South Bay, so it's about 30 miles or 2 hours from the valley! I did used to live in Burbank for a while, and know the Tinhorn Flats! Once I got Direct Ticket, I stopped going because my bar tab would always be too high! It was the Wanny years, so I had to drink heavily. I now am oddly finding my grocery bill to be increasing in that area recently...

I swear, if I had a penny for every baffling decision this coaching staff made, I'd be able to bail out GM myself... AP getting carries over Wolfe in that situation was just mind boggling. -
Then again, what better way to prove them wrong for ousting you...
-
Dang...other than Turnstile Miller and "Alright" Hamilton, all those cats should have had minutes last week...

I'm glad we agree on at least one thing! Overall, I think all your points are solid artbest! Angelo seems now to be paying the price for bad decisions. For every Hester (and is he good now?), there's an Okwo. He started off botching paperwork and losing a pick, and now he just makes some bum picks. And while many of us are hoping Williams becomes a foundation, I don't think there's one fan here that isn't at least concerned about either his health or his poor play in his first NFL downs. Angelo's really been getting a free pass on all this criticism, but I thinkhe's also to blame. I really couldn't agree more with your off-seson plan. I too worry, it won't be followed by Bears brass. I think Benson set us back a year. I think relying on Grossman so much set us back a year. I think settling for Smith will set us back at least 2 years. That means, under Jerry's watch, we've regressed 4 years. 2006 was an anomoly. 1985 was not. I know we'll never see a 1985 again, but can we shoot somewhere in the middle? Build solid lines and have coaches that are actually good at thier job. We already have a good RB, a servicable QB (At least I hope), a promising TE, a few good defenders...all we need are some impact players on the lines, a legit WR stud and an upgrade in the secondary. Dang...that is asking for a lot from this franchise. I think we'll have to settle for Rod Marinelli and a 6 pack of Old Style.

Heaven forbid they think outside the box!

Also add that Orton has done a better job of handling pressure... Maybe if Rex were in full time, more sacks happen.
