Exactly...

My wife teaches! And she's got to get those little ones motivated! If she taught like Smith, it wouldn't be called school, it be called nap time.
-
Great points nfo. I really agree. I see Smith's lips moving the same as a politicians, and both are lying to me. The only difference is Smith puts me to sleep. I know the guys on Comcast alwasy seem to jab Smith that he speaks like everyone listening to him is an indiot. I feel the same way. I feel disrespected as a fan. I expect it, but he ilicits nothing from me but utter disappointment. He reminds me of Kevin Bacon in Animal House..."Eeverything is fine! Carry on!" Yet everything around him is going up in flames... I'm investing in "No-Doze" for the next few years as I should be taking it non-stop during the football seasons while Smith is under contract. That and drinking heavily...

Welcome your new DC... ROD MARINELLI! ...and we just wait out Lovie's contract and press restart. (For that matter, Angelo too...) It's so bittersweet being a Bears fan... The highest of highs, the lowest of lows.

Man, I still scratch my head on why this club didn't go after Faneca... Henceforth why were are at where we're at...
-
As time goes on, I think that holds a large factor in it...

It's hard not to fall into the conspiracy theorist mode on this... But I think the ref was just an idiot plain and simple. But, I am glad I didn't have any money on it! Although it impacted a few pick'ems I was in... As much as I love your letter to him, I think it's a better path to ask if they can: 1. Get better refs 2. Get better training for their refs 3. Utilize current technology for replay

Nice work fellas! The guy on the right is a beast! The guy on the left needs to find himself and return to glory! (All pun intended...)
-
Do you think that holds any real significance?

I could be off on my tie-breaker facts... But I think it goes... 1 . Head to head 2. Division 3. Conference 4. NFL. That would make us behind GB, but ahead of Minny GB and MIN have split, but GB has a 3-1 divisional record, whereas MINNY has 2-2. So I think we're officially in 2nd... 1. GB 2. CHI 3. MINNY 4. DET

Are we really in first? Aren't we also in 3rd so to speak? He's right, but wrong in the same breath.

I fear this game... It is a trap game for us. I hope you are right.

I could not agree more...

I would tend to agree with that philosophy. I used to be more BAP oriented, but it's tempered a bit now. It would seem we pretty much have a huge canvas to work with this next draft since we have so many needs!

It's all stealing! Whether is petty larceny or grand theft!

http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....-d-steal-c.html Normally, I dislike this writer, but I couldn't help but laugh at the name for the D he came up with!

I'm basically sold on your (and I think it was jason's too) idea of OL. I think all else being equal, I'm all for it. The exception occurs if an incredible talent is available. If a Stafford/McCoy leave early and drop, a great WR falls, etc... I don't want to pass on exceptional talent over position. The hope is that the exceptional talent is at the OL to take...

Are the Bills experiencing similar woes?

Sounds a tad too familiar for my liking... -
Sounds a lot like Zombie Smith... http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...+It/default.htm Buffalo Nov. 13, 2008 By Matt Sohn Bills' lack of inspiring leadership holding them back Coaches often stress the importance of not getting too high or too low in response to whatever situation a team finds itself in. Dick Jauron and the Bills are doing that well … too well, in fact. In talking to sources close to the club, the lack of emotion and fiery leadership both on the coaching staff and on the roster is keeping Buffalo from escaping the doldrums of their three-game losing streak. After being praised for his calm in the pocket in a terrifically efficient start to the season, Trent Edwards' measured stoicism has reflected the offensive stagnation he has directed. Meanwhile, Donte Whitner's absence with a shoulder injury has left the defense without more than just it's most talented defensive back. “Donte's really the only guy this team can rally around,” one source said. “Without him, there's nobody on this team who will make sure you're busting your tail out there.”

Yeah...but it's really too early to make any assumptions. There will be lots of legal battles I'm sure...

Because he probably felt, even at not close to 100%, he's still better than Grossman.

THIS TEAM REST ON ITS LAURELS TOO MUCH!!!!!
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
They were a top defense 2 years ago and for many years before... Basically before Babich. Everything that led up to the SB... They think they are all that still. You can argue maybe they were never that...but it was somewhat a common perception that the Bears were one of the best defenses in the league 2 years ago and before. -
I do hear you there... And that's yet another knock on Smith and staff as you mention. It's just all so sickening...

I wish you were GM... -
I do not feel good about it in the least... I'd say we should win, but the way STL was man-handled by rival SF yesterday, they are equally pissed off... Bulger worries me tremendously.
