  1. OK, now I'm starting to get jealous! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,526431.column
  2. I think that's a given! We need to draft someone high up...
  3. After this season, assuming it plays out as it has been (ie. Kyle = good, Rex = bench), Rex should be gone.
  4. I like where you're going, but I think now is not the time to get rid of Rex. If Kyle gets injured, we could be in huge trouble without him. We could lways bing in Jeff George again I suppose!
  5. Tell me about it! I agree with the philosophy, but I'm also a realist... There are too many obstacles in place to fight the power of the 2 party system. It has to be a Perot-like financed person or a huge celebrity/former Rep/Dem that garnishes the notoriety needed. That's why Ron Paul went Rep...he could get elected that way. He was a Lib for many year and most his viewpoints are just that. I vote Libertarian pretty much on state initiatives, local govt, and in national elections if I think neither candidate is that good or that bad. In the current situation, I think McCain/Palin is that bad...that Obama/Biden have already rec'd my vote (as I voted absentee).
  6. Your theory seems to make sense! Although, it's better if none of your picks are busts and all are HoF'ers!
  7. A libertarian is a conservative who's been busted. A libertarian is a liberal who learned economics. What is the derivation of the word Politics? It comes from Poly, meaning many, and Ticks, a blood sucking insect
  8. True enough... I don't think so. We all know there are many picks that are busts, but I think the expectation is that your first round pick should be a stud, your 2nd round pick a starter, and your 3rd a solid contributor. I think you could make more of a case for some of the lower picks making up for the whiffs...
  9. Surprises 1. Orton! Whoodathunkit? 2. Forte! I did not think he'd have this much of a positive impact as a rookie! Makes me forget about my wishes to draft Mendy! 3. O Line - overall, I thought it't be a seive, but they are doing a better job than I would have thought. 4. Davis - the WR has contributed, barring a couple big drops...and a heady play following Clark to the end zone last week! 5. Payne - agreed... Disappointments 1. The D Line - WHile M. Harrison has surprised pleasantly, all the other players have disappointed unpleasantly. 2. Urlacher - He still plays for us right? I've not seen him have a real impact play in 7 games. 3. McKie - Not sure I really expected much, but he's just not getting it done other than cheap gimme's at the GL 4. Defensive Coaching - Babich has continually not done much different game after game other than generate little pressure thus causing big plays to occur downfield 5. Mike Brown - agreed
  10. Olsen looked to be a slam dunk in the draft...however, whiffing on 2 of your top 3 picks is not good. I am happy some of the later picks are proving to have value though. I'd use the terms, "panning out better than we had thought" than "panning out very well".
  11. I'm sure we did use it...but I think what nfo and I are getting at, is we want it more than once in a blue moon on short yardage...
  12. I would also like to see a 3 TE set with Davis. I'd like to mix one of the TE's at FB once in a while too... Gotta be better than mcKie!
  13. Agreed there...however, as many have suggested along with yourself, Lovie can take over the D and push Babich aside. I'd like them to turn it around, but I fear as long as the coaching is the same, we will be on this rollercoaster ride... Thankfully, we have a solid O. Man, I never thought I'd be saying that!
  14. It is a small school, before Chris Gocong from Philly, the only football guy was John Madden! I like him as a possession receiver...bit target in the end zone and for first downs... Let Hester and others burn D's w/ speed.
  15. Barden could really be a steal! I went to Cal Poly...and have followed him a bit.
  16. Not just that...with the lack of pressure we're getting from our D line, you could have Mike Haynes and Darrell Green back there and they'd still get burned!
  17. Actually, you didn't state it as a guess... But, I don't want to get you in any trouble...so a guess it is then!
