Wow indeed...

Granted, he started to lose it. But the point is moot, Ditka's not coaching anymore. And if we look at our track record of stoic coaches to raving lunatic coaches, right now, raving lunatic coaches (Ditka, Hallas) have one SB and numerous champrionships compared to stoic coaches (Smith, Jauron) who have zilch. I think we've hashed this out already...no need to continue on.
-
I'm assuming you mean Ditka, and yes, I would prefer him. I'd actually prefer something about 75% of Ditka... But, I've had my fill of 0% from Jauron and Smith...
-
Anything that comes out of Zombie Smith's mouth, I tend to disregard. He's been telling half-truth's and/or blatant lies for years now... In fact, usually what comes out of his mouth is insulting to fans. He thinks we don't watch the games.
-
I'd tend to agree. Warren was a guest on the show and was asked what he thought...what do you expect the guy to say? Lovie can give him a razz about being on DWTS all he wants, but right now, Lovie should be more concerned about his paltry defense and his BBF, Babitch.
-
I sure hope Babich gets the can... Nick Roach is no Urlacher... I'm concerned Tommie may be done due to injury...and therefore I'm more willing to think about trades... But right now, I'm more convinced Babich doesn't know how to use Brian more than Brian's faltering... Tommie's replacement is Harrison, and he's doing a great job. But, I don't see a replacement for Urlacher in the least...

There are a few I imagine. Let's also keep in mind Ogun was not drafted, Hunter was picked up on waivers, and I think there may be a few more 2nd stringers on the DL and LB crew. I think we both agree Angelo has done a good job on the D side, but I feel he is no genius. Other GM's have been as successful. Others far less...
-
True! Yeah, I was on the fence on his...moreso as he's still an unproven. Feel free to scratch him from my list.... My basic contention is that Angelo is no more the genius at this than most other GM's... He's got his hits and misses...

If you see a politician doing anything, he's being irresponsible with your tax dollars!

I was hoping to see a Bears jersey somewhere there!

On Taxes... Who Should you Vote for?

I do follow! I'm not 100% on health care as what I see needs more fixing... We're in litigation nation, and too many people sue for jackass reasons. THus high insurances costs are going right onto customers. Also, the govt mandates you can only get treatment by certain individuals, thus jacking up the price. If I get a serious laceration and just need a run of the mill stitch and cleanse, I should be able to go to a nurse or low end med student, pay substantially less, and go about my way. However, govt. mandate I see a specialist with over a decade of schooling etc for this minor thing. Also, when I'm sick, give me a Z pack! I don't need to see a hear surgeon for this! Too much of this gets in the way of truly making costs affordable. Also, I still have family in Lithuania. While socialized medicine has it's benefits, there are certainly it's probblems. Many a time, my relatives will pay extra with vodka (moreso before the fall of the Soviet Union), extra money, etc...basically bribes...to get the best care. Thus resulting in really "not-so-free" health coverage. There are exceptions I'm sure as I have friends in the UK that swear by their coverage. But I also have freinds in Canada who go to the US for the major stuff... Overall, I think we should hold off a bit socailizing medicine. But, I generally think something should be offered to bridge the gap until we find a truly good solution. -

Gotcha... Thanks for sharing! -
I don't think so... To me, that doesn't mean anything other than he appears average at his job. Hits and misses. Other potential misses on D (leaving this years' class out, as the verdict is way too early): 1. Okwo (previously mentioned) 2. Baziun (previously mentioned) 3. Tank Johsnon (some success, but overall bust) 4. Leon Joe 5. Claude Harriot 6. Todd Johnson 7. Ian Scott (some success) 8. Michael Haynes 9. Tron LaFavor 10. Roosevelt Williams 11. Bobby Gray 12. Brian Knight 13. Danieal Manning (still a bit early to dismiss) 14. Corey Graham (still a bit early to dismiss) PS - You can't open the can of worms on offense...plus Kruetz wasn't his pick.

You guys are scaring me... Let's hold off on trade talks for a little bit please. Urlacher and Harris are both coming off injuries. Let's let this season play out a bit more before trading potentially our best players for picks that Angelo might botch. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush remember...
-
Not sure I agree... Don't Bazuin, Okwo, etc prove otherwise?
-
Not necessarily, just ask Mandrich!

With Babich, Bears 20, Vikes 17 Without Babich, Bears 93, Vikes 0.

On Taxes... Who Should you Vote for?

You are 100% correct, communism doesn't work. However, our current tax system needs a drastic overhaul. I'm not really sold on Obama's plan, but I'm not remotely sold on MCCain's. What needs to happen is a flat tax. No more shelters, no more rebates,etc... Everyone gets taxed the same above a certain poverty benchmark. The rich have far too many loopholes (and I know this from being an accountant), and the middle to poor, have too little. Everywhere you turn, the rich appear to be getting richer. Just look at all the golden parachutes when these multi millionaires run companies into the ground... And the poor are getting poorer, and the middle class is losing ground. It seems to me the old boy network is far too alive and well. Once someone gets to a certain status, they are then lifers. Look at your top dog in your company. What does he/she pay for? 1st he/she gets a huge salary, then his/her lunches are paid for, his/her car is paid for, much travel is paid for, he/she gets invited to various functions that are paid for with all kinds of gifts etc. Granted, many may say that, his/her salary is basically higher due to those perks. I'm a Libertarian, so my gut feeling is to say, it is what it is. But the closer you look at it, much of these salaries,etc...are due to deals with the goverment and or old boys' networks that prevent membership. To me that's not quite free enterprise. I'll be honest, I'm not sure what the solution is. I personally want less government, but nor do I want the continuation of what is happening, because if it continues there will be a full on class war...and that's good for no one. -
Agreed. I see some kind of secondary pick fairly high...
-
I still think they are to be dis-trusted! But, some need to be dis-trusted more! It's virtually like this election is a referendum on the past 8 years...
-
That's a bummer! I'd prefer Detroit to be wallowing in ineptitude!
-
Any politician isn't a new kind politician. All are to be dis-trusted.

Sowell's bias is no different than Larry Elder's or Bill O Riley's. He does make some great points, and overall, I do adhere to a lazzez faire principle myself, being a Libertarian. But Sowell is sorely mistaken if he thinks this crisis rests solely on the left. Both parties are really equally to blame. However, ususally the standing party gets the blame. It was no different when the natural business cycle made Carter's regime seem feeble. Reagan got in when the ecnomy started on an upswing, and got all the credit. Bottom line, both parties usually spell disaster for the populace. What are the 2 biggest lies? 1. I promise I'll respect you in the morning. 2. Hello, I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you.

Damn straight! We need to groom someone for 3 years...
