...and why have you not applied for a job with the Bears?! I think they'd allow you Sunday's off to watch wins!

Good call! I forgot Bobby! I guess the exception makes the rule!

In LA? Check out the Lithuanian Fair!
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in The Water Cooler
Good deal! Lithuanian food is pretty much similar to Polish...very Eastern European. There's sausage, potato pancakes, cipilini (meat filled boied potato), kugelis (kind of a potato pudding...grated potatoes and eggs baked together), koldunai (meat dumpings like small perogi or wontons), blynai (like a crepe), grain bread...cookies. Also, the beer is quite good! There is a small beer garden there that's usually hopping with a younger crowd. It's right by the Griffith Observatory. Where in the LA area are you? I'm in Torrance. -
I'd really like to go more in an offensive direction if we're pulling at just coordinators. I'm not sure I like Kiffin...maybe the team he's with is bad and that's why he looks bad.
-
Works for me... But I'd like a LB a bit earlier than last... We need a replacement for Hunter and depth for Url...
-
Marty-ball anyone? The guy seems to always get his teams to the playoffs. He likes running the ball... Maybe he's a good fit...
-
We'll probalby be drafting another TE...I'm sure JA knows of one from a small school that's already injured...
-
Didn't we draft Steltz at safety?

Bucs TE Stevens: "People on the Bears got exposed"
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
I like him. Generally, I think he's doing a decent job given the circumstances. -
Sad...but it isn't saying much!

http://www.ltdays.com/ Good ethnic food, tasty ethnic beer, etc...! If you're interested...it's a good alternative to Octoberfest! Or in addition to! Ask me, and I'm happy to tell you more about it as I go virtually every year...
-
You may be right...but I doubt it. I can't think of one Chicago WR that has gone on to such success that it is truly a regret. Booker to MIA? Gage to TEN? Berrian to MIN? Nah...I trust our drafts not to know what they are doing drafting WR's... We can't even keep the sure hands guy, Hass, when the other "gem" Davis keeps dropping more balls than...well, I won't go there. I digress...

I swear Angelo likes to be clever for clever's sake. Ever since landing Hester where we did, all of a sudden it seems like every pick (other than Olsen) has to be some obscure person out of nowhere that we'll shock the world with!

Bucs TE Stevens: "People on the Bears got exposed"
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
COnsidering how poorly we matched up, I'm not sure anyone was on Stevens! But, yeah...maybe he was referencing our LB's... I somehow also think Harris. He seemes to be the most vocal of our group...and would be the one I would think someone would take to task. Url barely says a thing...but nor did he do much that game either. -
Agreed. But, maybe he never got the pieces to the puzzle and did the best he could... Just saying... And I've heard of his cushy camps too... I'm not sold on him, but I'd consider him considering certian alternatives...
-
Probably not, but I would imagine those guys could be hunted down. I do agreee overall...we need something O oriented. But as you mentioned w/ Singletary on your other post...maybe we just need a movivator and a good coordinator!
-
True enough... I think we're basically on the same page. And I htink we're both in agreement the page won't turn to the next for a while...
-
works for me...
-
THought everyone would get a kick out of it! Agreed!

Bucs TE Stevens: "People on the Bears got exposed"
madlithuanian replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Got to be referencing Hunter and Vash...Payne's too new based on his comment. COuld also be some D linemen too... -
Man, I do not want that... But, what about Billick? He was an offensive guru in Minny before going to Balt...and got a lot out of Dilfer at least for one season. Also has a ring on his finger...
-
He's only been there for a little bit...I think a year after Nolan got there. Tell me Patrick WIllis doesn't look really good! We know there's natural skill, but I'm sure there's something to Mike being there. But, granted, that's only one area. But they do look to be improving...and maybe that's Martz. While I fully see your point, and I'm sure I'm clouded by his tenure as a Bear...but I recall Buddy Ryan saying time and time again, he'd be a natural coach. Again, maybe too much Bears kool-aid on my part. I guess the bottom line is I'd really rather have a proven HC, but if we've gotta go the cheap (McCaskey) route again, I'd be OK with Mike.
-
Great read! Man, does that depress me though!
-
I just wnat a proven winner... One that'll get us more times to the playoffs than the front of the line in the draft... Cowher did always seem to get a lot out of very little on offense. Generally speaking, I do agree with you. I think we need an offensive minded guy...but Cowher is a proven exception. I'd rather have him than some up and coming (ie. cheap) OC that doesn't have HC experience. In all honesty, as much as my mind would kind of dislike it, I'd find it hard not to be happy if Singletary were next. At least we know he's got fire...and has also been asst head coaching in SF...
