As much as I find it interesting... Maybe the site should just outright ban political discussion. I personally find it intruiging and amusing at the same time. However, some seem to take to it with almost religious fervor... Thus resulting in hurt feelings, etc... I would say, why not be political about being political and put it to a vote? Let the posters decide if political talk on a Bears-talk web-site is fair game...

I still like your team...at least better than mine! Ocho Cinco will be just fine! ...so will old man Taylor! The others, I could see your point!

Got it! Your team is scary!

BRIGGS DOESN’T GET WHY BEARS TRADED JONES Posted by Michael David Smith on September 5, 2008, 1:47 p.m. Early in 2007, the Bears decided that Cedric Benson was their running back of the future and shipped Thomas Jones off to the Jets. Putting their faith in Benson was obviously a mistake on the part of the Bears’ front office, and some Bears players still haven’t forgotten it, more than a year later. “Honestly, more than I am frustrated that Cedric Benson didn’t pan out here, I am more frustrated that a guy like Thomas Jones, who was our best offensive weapon for the years that he was here, was traded and let go,” Bears linebacker Lance Briggs told a Chicago radio station, per the Sun-Times. “Because the guy, Thomas Jones, he was a great, great leader for the Bears. He was a fiery leader. He was a guy that when he got out on the field there were no biases to who he went to and told, ‘Hey, we need to get this done.’ “He went out and he played hard every day and even when we didn’t win our league, the guy gave his whole heart and soul. He was our best offensive player every year that he was here. That was more frustrating, that he’s not with us today.”But Briggs’ comments should be taken more as a slap at Benson than as a criticism of this year’s running backs. Briggs calls rookie Matt Forte “an instant upgrade from what we had here last year.” It’s safe to say that Benson’s old teammates don’t miss him. And if the opinion in the Bears’ locker room reflects the opinion around the league, it’s easy to see why Benson hasn’t found a job since the Bears cut him.

SHINE O: Orton. I think he'll play poised. He won't light it up, but he'll move the chains and get some scores. SHINE D: Agreed... I think Dusty comes to play and it shows. DIM O: McKie...I fear his blocking won't be good, his running won't be good, and his catching won't be good. DIM D: Tillman...he just doesn't look to be in condition to play... I am very worried about Manning picking on him. SHINE ST: Hester! He's gonna bust one! DIM ST: What do you know, there's nothing dim here!

I too wish you were the coach!

Let's roll the dice and see what happens! Hopefully we won't crap out!

Yeah...winning in the regular season. Let's see how that works out before you throw the baby out with the bath-water. There are NO proven #1 WR's on our roster other than one guy. Let's see how he does when the games count. Granted, his best days are behind him, but there is such a thing called vertan savvy... Maybe this staff just wants a hard working, no-nonsense guy to help teach all our youngin's... But, I think that's giving them too much credit.
-
I'd go Taylor...tried and true.
-
I'd like to see them as they're in...not just at the due date time.
-
Tanks! I'm curious to hear your take... I eagerly await the debates so that all the candidates can be put in a place of uncomfort and be asked hard questions instead of just "rah-rah" conventions...

Why are so many people certain Stewart won't get carries? I think he will. Also, why is eveyone so up on Ronnie? Ricky's been getting more and more and Brown hasn't exavtly been a reliable paragon of health... I know it's all speculation...but I personally would ask for more. Always ask for more... Worst they can say is no, and you accept it as it is. It they pull the trade, I don't think it's a big loss...
-
It's just so pre-mature... Before we start wanting to cut a vet like Matry, let's see him drop countless 3rd down passes for firsts,etc... I want to see him in real games before even remotely thinking "cut".
-
Thanks for the info!
-
But what do you propose we do about it? Do you bench the D and cut Booker?
-
But you need to take out pretty much complete lack of experience of #1 WR's in consideration. In our entire lot, only Booker has played the #1 WR position, and did it well for many seasons. I know it's easy to knock Marty now. But, the same could be said for virtually every starter on defense as well... Yet, we're all willing to call it "pre-season".
-
I probably wouldn't. There's too much ?'s with Ronnie Brown...so all you are really getting is Welker for Stewart. And I honestly don't think the Pats will quite set records like they did last season. Just my 2 cents worth...
-
Also remember, as I learned was back when I was a lad playing sports, if you don't go 100%, you usually end up getting injured...
-
I've always liked Booker. Given his veteran status, I give him a pass for the pre-season. I'd like to see what he does starting on Sunday. That's when I'll start making an honest opinion on what he brings to the table.

Hopefully Hester will at least provide some fireworks other than the darn junk the Colts will throw up there because it's the new dome!
