Even if Hester's a bust at WR...how do you not keep a roster spot for him?
-
Your first line had me in tears!
-
The default and classic have been the one's I've used. I prefer classic at the moment. Old habits die hard...

Ferris here... Without being snide myself...my understanding is he's on the PS, then any team can pluck him away. I don't want him plucked. If/when Grossman gets injured, we'd then have to go shopping in the FA market to get a guy. I'd think differently about Hanie if we had a legit 3rd option. We don't he's it. Here's what what know... He looked good when he played agasint 3rd stringers. He at least didn't look bad. Let's not put ourselves behind the 8 ball and hope that no ohter club takes him. If we even had 2 decent QB's as our guys, I may feel different. But odds are we will need the 3rd. History dictates so. Why not our guy in camp now who's looked good when asked to regardless of what competition he's facing? Let's see how the next 3 games pan out...things can change. But right now, we should make Hanie our #3 on our roster.

Chile! I regret not reading your post before I posted mine! You took the words right out of my mouth (or keyboard)!

Bad idea... I'd rather see WIlliams go on the IR... We can't risk his getting injured. I think it's time to chalk it up to dumb luck and prep him for next season and not rush him back into a potential career ending injury. We need Hanie. Rex has made a career of being injuerd... And as much as I want to give Orton a chnace to prove himself...I fear neither him nor Rex will get it done this season. May as well throw the kid in for reps at the end of the season if/when all hope is lost.

Agreed Cracker! I only recall Sweetness involved in any screen that worked....barring the unusual here and there. But not consistently.
-
You are such the eternal optimist Pix!

Right now, I'm leaning on Oher...but that's really only because he's the only guy of the lot that I know a little something about. ...and it seems like a no brainer. He should pan out.
-
Thanks for the head's up! I do now recall hearing about Oher! I eagerly await seeing the NCAA play itself out! (I fear we will indeed be picking early...)

QUESTIONS! I got it last night and overall I'm happy. But there are a few things that are bugging me at the moment...but maybe I've not sepnt evnough time going through everything yet... (I picked up the PS3 version...and am working in Franchise mode) 1. Can I not change the view to show both the LOS and the 1st down line? 2. I'm definitley having problems running the ball ( Ican only gain yard going fast outside w/ Wolfe), and returning kicks. Maybe I just need to adjust the sliders. 3. Is there a training camp section? Or is that the little training things bertween the pre-season games? 4. I'd like the info below the players to be just their name, not the action you're doing. (like Urlacher will go from "Urlacher" to "Hit Stick" if I use the hit stick...) 5. Are thee new downloadable rosters from EA or SOny to get all our guys (Like Hanie, Laroque,etc...) Anyone noticed these or other odd issues? Overall, I like the playability and am glad that darn cone passing BS is gone...
-
Something willhappen...our QB will get pulverized...
-
It's just part of my grander scheme to trade Briggs, and put someone in place to eventually replace Urlacher... I'm too unfamiliar with those players...I need to get a year of watching under my belt!
-
Somewhat... At least those Bucs teams were better coached with Dungy! But there is an eerie similarity...
-
I'm with both you guys on this... It really just makes me ill though. I'm so done with Lovie... He needs to show me something and prove me wrong. I fear a very long season...
-
I hear ya! But I figure having Favre on the cover will jinx him like they have all the other players... I usually end up creating an all-time bears team when all hope is lost and play in a dream scenario!
-
We don't have adequate coaches...
-
Good list...I would take Vasher and Olsen off though. Unless there was truly something to get. Even with that said, I can't see Vasher going. He must stay! I could live with Olsen traded for value. Tillman too...but Vash is too much of a ballhawk! I also can't bear to see Mike Borwn go...not to mention I don't see many teams forking over a lot for him. I would also the following: 1. Grossman 2. Orton 3. Peterson 4. Manning Jr. 5. M. Anderson
-
Where do you update rosters? I just bought the PS3...so I'm a bit new to this. Is it automatic or ask you if you want to update once you put the game in?
-
I'm getting it tonight after work... I'll let you know in the morning. But it looks great from everything I've read and seen.
-
It really seems like you're arguing for just the sake of arguing. Jamar Williams again is not an apple or an orange in this argument... I'm not going off speculation from camp notes, or other posters' opinions on Olsen. I'm going of of numerous national publications and my own viewing experience. The guy can play at a starter calibur level. Granted, I rattled off a few teams that were suspect, but overall, my feeling is that any team would take Olsen if their starter was unavailable. Right now, he is no Witten, no Clark(s), no Cooley, etc... But odds are if those players were no longer on those teams for whatever reason, Olsen would more than likely be starting. It's not like the guy was a draft bust from the 7th round. He's a first round talent. He's shown very good signs of being a very good TE. Sure he needs to work on certain aspects of his game...who doesn't? But, the kid looks like a legit NFL TE. To say he couldn't start on other teams or ours for that matter I think is just being agrumentative for argument's sake. And you trust our staff to use him correctly? Something tells me he'd be hugely more successful on some other teams. I'm not talking about him being the next Tony Gonzalez right now...we're talking about him starting on any NFL team. He can.
-
Exactly! I personally am not a fan of Simms. But given our options, nor am I vehemently opposed. I personally would rather us make a blockbuster trade for Quinn if Anderson starts playing exceptional again in Cleveland. It would give us a name, a fairly local prospect, and a potential franchise guy. In the meantime, we do need to continue to bolster the OL. I want to see more FA moves and a continued plan to draft .

Oh it's bad... But I'm surprised you're wondering where the Hanie love-fest is coming from. Isn't it obvious? He drove the team to 2 scores and possibly could have had another if not for shoddy receiving and coaching. I'm sure you're well aware of the time honored Bears tradition of thinking the guy on the bench is better than the clown out there... Bottom line, when your options are Rex and Kyle...your vision gets clouded and any silver lining looks like platinum.

Get ready for a long season... Do you have Hanie stats? (I'm obviously grasping at straws...)
