  1. Great points Grizz! However, I think you could somewhat classify Sayers as more of a finesse player...he wasn't a bruiser. Also, Willie Gallimore has crazy speed and finesse as well.
  2. I'm going to clammoring for Laurinaitis then!
  3. You're comparing apples and oranges. Not to mention, I never brought up AP starting. Those were other posters. You're telling me that Olsen couldn't start in Oakland or Miami..or in Atlanta? I could rattle off more. The arguement was whether or not JA drafted legit starters. I believe he did in Olsen. I'm not annointing him to the Hall of Fame, pro bowl,etc...I simply said he could start on a number of clubs. And I truly believe that. I'm sure many others would agree. Olsen was drafted I believe because he was highly regarded, fell into a great draft slot, Clark's not getting any younger, and Clark wasn't all that consistent early on with the Bears. I alwasys thought Olsen has a chance to be more of a Shannon Sharpe typoe of player...he's got speed for his size. Maybe even in a Dwight Clark mode. Not that he's in their calibur at the moment...but in terms of those kinds of smaller, faster players. (Or larger, slower in Dwight's case if I were to compare to a WR). He's dropped no more balls than Shockey...
  4. Agreed. He looked very solid in SD before he went out... I hate seeing injuries period...so good luck Dusty!
  5. Ease up on 88... It's a full time job supporting Grossman.
  6. I hate moose, but he's right. No WR that really wants a chance is going to line up to be in Chicago. Only loot will bring them in. Until we get a legit QB, that will be perception. Granted, I think we can keep the guys we develop if we want, but bringing in real talent will not happen if only for money. Moose proved it, and the fact that he grabbed the money is obvious. He dropped more balls than a marathon-session bingo machine...
  7. Olsen could start at TE for a number of clubs. It's just that Clark gives us a vet. Both those guys could also very well be our 2 best receivers as well. I think both are atarter quality... Clark was given a new contract due to his past performance, his leadership, his savvy, his experience, and cost. He's pretty much an aging guy with great skills that's good to have as we continue to groom Olsen and probably the new short guy...
  8. Good analysis! But I'd say that Olsen could be considered a starter on offense. It still a crummy average with that.
  9. Nah! None at all! I will go get a cup of Joe!
  10. It's early here on the west coast! OUt of ten, that decent then. I like the roster.
  11. Looks great to me! How many owners in your league?
  12. Tank's an idiot. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's not telling the truth... Canseco is an idiot as well, but I tend to believe his take on 'roids... But more importanly, I think the rest of the article is very telling. This franchsie has failed misrably trying to replace Jim McMahon. Seriously, that's shameful. THis is a charter franchise, and we honestly are the biggest QB joke in the league. It's not just this season or Rex. It's bigger than that. Honestly peaking, I'm almost of the frame of mind that we draft a #1 QB every other year until we bloody get it right. And that means trading up to get the best prospect available. I'm just so disheartened about the QB position. We're talking well over 2 decades of mediocrity at the position... It' appauling.
  13. BEAR with us bradjock! I think we all know it's early...but given our history at the spot, is it any wonder people are getting thrilled when they see something good? The grass is always greener is in full effect!
  14. Exactly! He is insurance for Forte...and it loos like it's a policy we won't need. But at least it was cheap.
  15. Even if he does, there's no way they'd let him start unless injuries or Quinn-like performances ensue. I think they keep him at 3 and maybe give him spot duty if the season is overat a certain point. Kind of like what happened w/ Orton last season. If he keeps this up, they guy could be our QB in a year or so...
  16. I threw up a little bit when you mention the Jauron/SHoop loyalty connection... I truly fear the same. If so, please can them all...
  17. nfo, you beat me to the punch on that one.
  18. I'd agree if I didn't see the plethora of horrible calls and decisions last season. Only so much can be blamed on injury... I will wait for final judgement, but I am expecting not so good things...
  19. I am starting to feel my blood boil. I honestly think this may be the last we see of at least most of this coaching staff if not all... I fear similar results as last year. I love that we have our nucleus of players set for a long while...but we need better direction. Someone that has a clue about adaptability.
  20. I do beg to differ... You have all these assistants,etc...they know the trenches etc. If I'm sitting in the press box and tell my guys, it's 3rd and long...we need a slant pass to the TE, and a fade route by the WR...maybe roll Hanie out in case he can scramble for the 1st... To me, it's not rocket science. At least on that one play. Many of us have even played some ball in eiather High School, college, etc... Because someone happens to have the job, doesn't mean they're any good at it.. I'd love to give our staff the benefit of the doubt, but I can't.
  21. Seeing Kramer announcing doesn't make it easier! (He is a bad announcer...) THose guys were rambling on about useless stuff and making errors all game long.
  22. I fully realize that. And if this were the Pat's, I wouldn't be worried in the least. But this is the same brain trust that insisted on running Wolfe up the middle on our own goal line... I think there's just reason to be concerned. You play every game to win. You know your hands are tied in the pre-season. You will change players out, and will run a few plays to test. However, at certain places and times, you need to just call the correct plays. This is as much a pre-season for the coaching staff, and they deserve an F for that one.
