I could swear it's time for a regime change... I'm jumping to conclusions, but dang...it reeks.

I swear I was having heart aplpatation watching what you menion! And I swear every big play came against the bloody Cover 2 we insist on running even though the entire league has figured it out. It's a good D when you have good presonnell as we do. But you need to change it up! Again, it's pre-season, but I saw too much of is in seasons' past to think it's an anomoly in the pre-season.

Why, when Hanie was leading the Bears down for what would be an eventual FG by Robbie "Good as" Gould, did the mega brain trust of "Stomach" Turner & Co. decide to run up the middle when Hanie was hitting the mark for that drive and looked poised to score? Heck, he might have even had run for a first! Granted it's pre-season, but these guys do not have much legs to stand on. Their history shows a complete disregard for logic. I swear a 10 year old with Madden skills could have called a better play. I fear this will be long season...just with coaching alone.

Very impressed! I got slight visions of McMahon...a tough kid, willing to throw his body on the line, had enough moves to get out of trouble, and enough arm strength to get the ball in place. I like his moxie! I'd like to keep him. I envision having either Kyle or Rex start for the next 2 seasons depending on how it shakes out, with Hanie waiting in the wings to take over. ...I need to put the Kool-aid down though.

Agreed. If we see similar from Hanie in the next 3, he will be our #3...

Me too! He's an exciting player to watch! I really hope a one-two punch of Forte and Wolfe pay dividends for years to come!

Time for a QB conrtoversy!

Just that when we draft OL, they are busts... Granted, Columbo is now doing well, but he was a bust with us. I'm probably using the wrong lingo given how I'm irritated by the news and our performance this evening with the first team. If not for some nifty running by wolfe and a pick, it'd be plain disgusting now.

I really question our offensive scouts... I read many places this guy had some injury or at least odd physical issues relating to his back or legs. So many passed on him, we did not. It is bad luck...but dang. My conspiracy theory alert is going off...

Give it time, it just may happen...

This is truly awful news. I iwsh him the best...but I wonder if we'll ever see him play. I have a herniated disc and I hope he doesn't have what I have. It's unrepairable and you just have to limit yourself from doing things that could agravate it. What a sour day...

Williams has been sidelined since sustaining a lower back strain July 24 in the second training camp practice. When the muscle issue subsided, the rookie left tackle was further evaluated. It was then that the disc problem was discovered. The procedure was performed by Dr. Sdrjan Mirkovic and Dr. Mark Bowen. The Bears declined to give a timetable for Williams’ return, but indicated that they plan to keep the Vanderbilt product on the 53-man roster once the regular season begins. Roster news: In addition to Williams, other Bears who weren’t active for Thursday night’s game included linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer (hip), defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek (calf), running back Kevin Jones (knee), guard Terrence Metcalf (knee) and linebacker Michael Okwo (leg). Among the Chiefs who did not play were both of Kansas City’s first-round draft picks, defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey (knee) and left tackle Branden Albert (foot).

It is just in the PFT Rumor Mill, so you never know...and to doubt it is wise. However, tack in the talk of bringing in Fred Miller, and the general smokescreen nature of this coaching staff, and I'm concerned.

I couldn't agree more... Our offensive drafting is suspect at best. Thankfully Forte looks really good or I'd be spitting fire over passing on Mendenhall...

Multiple teams were concerned about Williams’ health prior to the draft. Some were sufficiently concerned to take him off the board. As we hear it, Williams has aggravated a prior back injury, and most likely will be shut down. This development, if indeed accurate, will throw a mediocre Bears offensive line into disarray, and will put even more pressure on the team’s defense to save the day, each and every Sunday. Williams was one of seven offensive tackles selected among the first 21 picks of the draft.

True enough! It's just been so long since we've seen the players in action, and seeing them so lackluster is a bit disheartening... But I'll curb my disappointment. At least Forte, Davis and Orton looked decent on the first drive.

Not sure...it's working ok for me, but I'm in the office with superfast connection. I'm working on a horrid accounting assignment while our D gets pillaged. It's not a good evening at the moment...

I know, logic tells me the same...but my heart is telling me otherwise! ...and they just score. 81 yard drive. I'm definitely livid.
