  1. I love allyour slots other than QB. Anderson just worries me that he may not be able to replicate last year. Garcia is also getting long in the tooth...
  2. I just read Najeh Davenport was just dumped by the Steelers. I think he may be a decent fit. A vertan with a decidedly different running style than all our other guys. He could prove useful in the red zone without treading on some of our other backs' forte's... All pun intended... Thoughts?
  3. Thanks for the info! I was unware of that...
  4. No arguement here...Lovie and crew should be canned if this team doesn't perform. But, I still think this team is rebuilding, because I just don't see Rex or Orton coming to the rescue... We did a lot of smoke and mirrors in our SB run 2 years back. We've been found out basically. And as funny as it is to watch, Denny Green's tirade has too much truth in it... Bottom line, the cover 2 has been figured out, and our offensive play calling can be figured out by a 3rd grader with Madden rookie level only skills. The only edge we really have is on special teams.
  5. Works for me! We can now shop Capt'n Kirk and Gordon potentially... Myabe to Miami for Marion?
  6. I'm in for the long haul! Even if I'm in last place, I'll keep swinging with the only intention of getting a chance of spoiling someone's parade! I look forward to the draft! Now at least I can draft Mendenhall!
  7. I did! Thanks! I'm set up as the super-original "Mad Lithuanians"!
  8. Thanks! I guess it doesn't add much to the overall conversation. Can I press you what the turnovers are? How many did the D get and how many did the O give up?
  9. Thanks for the analysis! However I think there are still too many variables to just take the numbers at face value. The D did suck last year, but we all know the injury issues that plagued us. Also, regarding the improved passing from '06...it's probably due to being behind and playing catch-up. The stats may not be telling the full story. One stat I'd love to see is turnovers... I think both sides literally dropped the ball last year... I know you didn't want to bring up rankings, but I was wondering if you had a league everage for both? Somewhere to give a bit of a spot check... Maybe we're dirt bottom in O, yet pretty decent in D. I'd just be curious.
  10. In those terms of having an average offense, I think you are correct. I think you meant playoffs and not SB for Wash... But they do have an up-and coming QB, a very solid RB in Portis, and some decent WR's... I'd also say that Tampa did have stars...albeit aging ones. Garica is a forwer pro-bowler and so is Galloway. They also found odd spark in the running game over the course of the season when Williams went down. Compare those to our roster, and there's no comparison. We are simply green...with a bit of an exception from the Wash QB. But Portis does play an important factor there. With Seattle, they have Hasselback! That's huge! Pit's loaded! Big Ben is a star. He's a tough gritty winner. Fast Willie is very good, but not a star as you mention. But their TE is really good and so is Ward. He had an off year, but still, his presence and leadership means a ton. Granted Jax is a good case of not having a true star...although Jones-Drew and Taylor are close. But overall, I still hold true that you need a star. Exceptions make the rule. I'm not talking Hall of Fame star, I'm talking pro bowl type. Granted, the planets can align with defensive and return silliness, good match-ups, and luck, and virtually any team can make a playoff spot...but will soon get bounced becasue they don't really belong. I guess I'm not really concerned about going to the playoffs. I want to go to a Super Bowl. I want our plan of attack to be just that... In return, odds are playoff spots will occur if your goal is set at the higher level.
  11. Given what we have, I just plain worry!
  12. Almost all of them! (Other than the Lions...) Something tells me Peppers is going to be a beast this year...just a gut feeling.
  13. Got it. Even with a good OL, and let's be honest, it won't be great...you still need a star. Dallas didn't get there solely on the O line back in the JImmy Johnson days. It sure helped to have an Aikman, Irvin, Smith, Novacek, and Moose... Every now and then a team comes along that defies generalities (ie. Ravens), but you need offensive stars to win it all. Even NY had Plax and Manning this past season. I think we could be good enough to sneak into the playoffs given a number of factors, but I see us getting bounced out harder than a superball dropped off the Sears tower... Unless Orton somehow turns the corner something vicious. Which I think I have a better chance winning the Lotto...
  14. Pix count me in for league 3 (Fri Aug 22 - 8:30 PM Live Draft) I'll send you an e-mail shortly... Let me know what I need to do. Thanks!
  15. FYI - Check my post...scalpers have armies of guys doing it, you have half a dozen at best...
  16. I thought hte O line as a whole sucked...not necessarily one guy. I also am looking at a body of work...not just one year. He's done a fine job...and if he didn't have a turnstile next to him, maybe that turns out differently. The problem is that there are too many variables to just flat out say Tait cannot be a legit LT anymore based on last year. This conversation is bordering on silliness though. My initial thought is based on only doing so if the offensive skill positions were good enough to warrant the thought of such. Sure, there are arguements for and against it, and you are obviously against it. I would be, in theory, for considering it.
  17. Fair enough, but I was going on the assumption that the trasnfer from RG to LG would be easier than RT to LT... Yes, there would be loss, but the greater loss would occur at the tackle spot vs the guard spot. That's all I was mentioning... Basically that a vet guard could swap positions easier than a rookie tackle starting... And since our offensive skill positions aren't up to snuff, the arguement really is moot. I also know Garza played center...so I think he's got a little more in his repretoire than just a plain old RG. Maybe I'm thinking he can do more erroneously...but I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt.
  18. I follow... However, why not make the case to keep Tait at left and move Williams right? That way we have a strong vet at LT, C, and RG? But, I fully understand that you want to get Tait in his strongest spot and get Williams rolling in his spot. Bottom line, I'd be more inclined to keep Tait at LT if I felt the O line was the only question mark...in other words, we could delay WIlliams' growth if we knew we had a legit shot at greatness. I just don't see that case, so you may as well give everyone reps.
  19. I used to work for a publishing division of ticketmaster and for the concert industry. Although I didn't work in the ticketing area of ticketmaster, I do know that Ticketmaster does try to eliminate robots and all that, but the criminals are always a step ahead of the cops so to speak. When I worked in the concert promotion business, I learned even more about ticketing. Basically promoters, buildings and artists buy up the most primo seats. Then those are sold or given to high priority clients, managers, agents, etc. Some do go out to employees that really love the bands, etc... In addition, some primo seats are sold to the general public, but it's not that many. That's why you'll notice that even if you're first in line at a sale, you'll get good seats, but not epic. I have got to imagine it works similarly in sports. Note that these primo tickets that aren't handed out, do go back on sale...usually the day of, so if you see a sold out show, always check the day of and you could get lucky. Same with games I'm told... I don't think there's an easy solution to get tickets to legit fans. Even a lottery,etc... Who's to say broker X can't say he's a fan? It's really tough. I truly wish there was a better way...I'm just at a loss on what's the way. The only thing that I've heard was a potential program that the purchaser of the ticket doesn't really even have a ticket. The ticket is your ID. If you bought 4 tickets, only the person with the ID could literally sit in those seats. Granted, the other 3 people could be anyone. But it would force the owenr of the ticket to go. I forget the exacts, but there was mention that the ownership could be transferred, but only through ticketmaster with no more additional fee other than yet another transaction charge (they nickel and dime customers to death...but don't get me started there as I can go on forever...) However, even then, there's nothing that prevents a seperate deal to be made on the side. That's why it's so complex. The only real way is if the person who bought the ticket wants to sell it, they can only sell it back to TM, who will then sell it to the next person in line. Bottom line, the brokers have armies of guys going on line buying all year round, and we fans just go on once a year to give it a shot.
  20. Doesn't sound half bad to me...
  21. I follow your thought...however I think we need one surprise on offense besides having decent line play. A skill position needs to step up... a WR, QB or RB...
