best strategy for buying single game tickets
madlithuanian replied to BearFan2000's topic in Bearstalk
Word to the wise...never buy tickets outside Soldier. My freind bought bogus ones a season ago. They look so good now, you can't tell until you get up to the gate. It's a pure chance situation. Go to stub-hub or razor gator before the game if you couldn't get through ticketmaster. You'll pay a bit more, but they're guaranteed to be legit. -
Apparenlty my kool-aid is spiked... I meant to say "Mike Brown and Dusty..."
-
Considering Byron is unemployed...I'm sure he'd be ok being 3rd to 2 very suspect QB's...
-
He certianly interests me! I just don't trust our platoon of throwers...

I too was at that game in San Diego...and while the D looked good until Mike Broand and Dusty got carted off...the O seemed to do everything in their power to give the game away. I just think the O's ineptness is too big to over-come... If anything, the D will keep things close and then start giving in due to mental and physical drain. Much like they did in our Super Bowl run...

Do we have the best D-Line in the league?
madlithuanian replied to ElmhurstMarcus's topic in Bearstalk
I think I recall the same...for some reason I have Thayer in mind as one of the guys, but it could just be that I'm always seeing him regarding Bears issues. Yeah, I just don't get the mentality of the coaching staff far too many times than not. I place blame 100% on Lovie. I also think that element of the wide swing for the DE's caused a few banner running days for our opponents (chiefly Mr. Peterson from Minny). I also think having Anderson out there as a pass specialist vs run stopper was also a huge casue. Again, all coaching mis-decisions. You're absolutely right in mentioning how our coaches seem arrogant about this. Heck, evenin Madden if I keep using the same thing, the computer figures it out! It really speaks ats the tip of the iceberg that our staff doesn't make any adjustments in game. It's like they have the script and keep to it by hell or high water. I won't argue your assessment... An A+ line mixed with an F coaching staff give you at best a low B... -
I think I need to spike my kool-aid at the moment....

"x" takes a square!

Do we have the best D-Line in the league?

Coaching is a huge element. The cover 2 also prevent some results in it's own right. Under Chico, these guys rocked. Babich, not so much. Yes, injury and the insistance of playing Anderson plaayed a big part too... But I still think we're in the top. -
Do we have the best D-Line in the league?

I think we arguably have the best D line in the NFL... As mentioned, the Giants, Vikings, and maybe SD have really outstanding ones too. But we're right in the mix for certain. -
Agreed. I'm not sure Parker brings that much more to a table which is already on questionable legs...
-
Good point! Quite similar to why Griese signed with us...
-
I think we do... But I'm not willing to go into a bidding war for him. If he comes reasonably, then I'm all for it.

Tommie has always come off in the public light as a classy guy. No one really know about in private...but from everything I've seen and heard about and from him, he sounds like a stand-up dude. I hope he takes a larger role being a leadr for the defense and team as a whole. I'm sure Mike Brown is still the vocal leader and Urlacher is the "lead by example" leader...but I'd like to see Tommie get more involved in that area. I'm just happy to have him locked up and happy. I feel as though our D will always be one to deal with for many years to come. Now to just get some kind of positive out of our O...
-
I, for one, think everything is better in full fledged F bomb mode! (But, decorum prevents it here...) Long live George Carlin!
-
I won't argue the "cheap"...but I could go on about the "dumb" for a while! Not in relation to signing our our good players...just about everything else!
-
Good thought! Many of us like calling out the Bears as cheap...they are proving otherwise. Now, we can still call them dumb though!
-
I hear ya!
-
All rejoice!
-
Agreed! I think we need to really focus on the offensive (all pun intended) side of hte ball. Something tells me the D will end up being good regardless. I hear you on the draft. We had a billion corners and 2 TE's that are really darn good! Yet a O-line turnstile! It just makes no sense. I too wouldn't mind seeing what Kevin Jones could do. Maybe he re-energizes his career like another Jones we brought in... The way the Bears run the club is just plan foolish too much of the time.
-
...I think all that amounts to needing a regime change! I'm tired of egos and idiocy running this franchise! But, I full well realize that nothing will change... Henceforth why I drink during games!
-
I think I use the word for that reason! I think you're basically right. I see the Jauron team of like 00-01. Great D, good special teams (now great), and an o that just kind of sputters. I actually feel better using the term "rebuild". At least it feel like something is being done! But in reality, is it really? We do know there's potential upside on the line, maybe with Hester, and maybe with Forte. But I don't feel great at all. I think your last line sums it up beautifully! "We just don't have the key, solid unit to stabalize us, and it could hurt all units in the end."
-
I too am an accountant...I feel your pain!
-
Ha! I was assuming they would just direct snap to Hester!

Looking to help fill void, Davis stepping up his game

Other than Moose, when did we have a high end wr!? I'm just plain owrried about the offense. You could a novel longer than "War & Peace" on how bad our situation is almost accross the line barring maybe 2 OL spots and the TE... The fear is that the domino effect can go both ways...
