  1. no arguement there at all.... I'm just pining away for something vs nothing...
  2. I certianly won't argue agasint the double standard. Briggs performed. Benson did not. I'm not saying it's right, it's just reality. As much as you'd love to hear the truth, please never epect it. You're doomed for a lifetime of disappointment. I'd love it, but it's just not going to happen. I lok at sports teams' management like politician. If the lips are movin'...they're probably lyin'. Guys that perform, get more chances than guys that don't. Guys that the team invests a lot of money in get more chances than guys with small salaries. It's just that way it is. I hear ya on Jordan and Jones... I wouldn't mind either. How about even a longshot like a retired Corey Dillon?
  3. Flip is available and we get Vinny? I just don't get it... Maybe Pax knows something I don't. I sure would like to think so...if not, he's getting the axe next.
  4. I can't resist to say... As I wanted DJ too...I'd have rather chanced DJ in Hunter's spot than what we got out of Bustson!
  5. I don't find it odd in the least. It's 2008...news is instantaneous. And we now live in a society with TMZ,etc...stuff back in the day that would get hushed, gets out through odd sources all the time. We live in a giant fishbowl now... So be fore-warned.
  6. I'm in agreement with you guys as well... I think the Bears acted appropriately.
  7. As far as the Bears are concerned, they did the right thing. As far as Benson is concerned, if he is indeed innocent, he should fight it with all the money the Bears gave him over the years. Bottom line, he was pulled over, admitted to drinking something...was out late...all of which shows poor judgement given his earlier incidenct, went agasint curfews I believe (correct me is I'm wrong), and probably broke promises to management (I'm assuming they told him to please lay low...and don't embarass the organization again). If Austin is a hot-bed for police abuse, this should be looked into by the Feds. Until then, citizens should take warning and take appropriate precautions.
  8. I think you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the Bears memories Marcus!
  9. Pix, I missed the p*ss n' vinegar as I was in Vegas over the weekend for my bachelor party... Thanks for keeping things from getting out of control!
  10. Nothing's changed in my mind. While we can argue until we turn blue regarding some of the legal details and potential police abuse,etc... I stand by initial opinion that Benson is at minimum a person who lacks good judgement and is a distraction to the team. I am glad the team has moved forward. I hope he learns from this experience. And if it is found that there were police abuses going on, I hope those officers get punished to the full extent of the law. But in the meantime...this team moves forward without a distraction.
  11. That's their loss! You wear it so the hot chick at the bar comes over and asks you!
  12. Jason, It's a fun read! However, the biggest question behind any conspiracy theory is "why"? Would it be to solely play in Texas somewhere? I just don't think that's the case. I think the guys just has no heart and is a f up... BTW - If he never wanted to be a Bear, I'm glad that door hit him on his way out.
  13. Good write-up nfo... As you probably well know...I pretty almost called this from the get go after his first arrest. As Forrest Gump said..."Stupid is as stupid does..." Regardless of degrees of legality etc...the man is guilty of bad judgement. I am personally happy to be rid of him. I think Angelo's statement and action was more than approporaite. It is time to move on. Hopefully this young man can learn somethng from this. In the meantime, I'd prefer to stay away from Henry since he's only one joint away from banishment. I wouldn't mind taking a shot at Alexander who may be looking for redemption.

  15. I think you pretty much summed it up... The hope is Mike Brown stays healthy. I think MacGowan is on the other side. The question is whether Brown can stay healthy... I would also like to see what Payne can bring to the table. He looked pretty decent before getting hurt. ...and I would also like to see Steltz get some reps.

  17. Point well made... But I just still have my doubts about our staff.
  18. That would make sense, but I seriously doubt our stubborn staff would do it.
  19. Thanks for the posts! Do you have links to the defensive positions?
  20. I follow your logic and will concede that, at minimum, he has shown the ability to attempt to say the right things. Now, we will see if he can indeed DO the right things...
  21. I am really not sure other that what he said as face value. I agree, he isn't well spoken. But I also feel he has had a selfish streak in the pasrt...and I really see nothing in his statments that make me think anything has changes signifcantly. And even if he meant those things...it's deeds not words in the end. Talk is cheap, and his actions will speak louder...whether they be bad or good. WHile I do look at his "mirror" comment as a step in the right direction...I'm not sure how genueine it is. He may have just been coached to say it. Or maybe he's grown up a bit. But until he proves otherwise, I'm going to assume we will get more of the same.
  22. I hope not! It should be 101!
