  1. Brad, What do you have agasint Booker? It really seems like you have apersonal issue with him. If Booker catches everything...why is that bad? Because an inept coaching staff and bad QB's can't find him? But yet when they do, he makes the catch? Gee, sounds like Moose, but catches the ball! That to me makes sense... Please, Chambers is a tier 1 guy, and Welker had youth and a potential returner upside to him. They are better than Booker! We're not saying Booker's better than Randy Moss! We're saying he's better than Moose! He can be had for relatively cheap, why the heck not? It's not like we're swimming in quality wideouts!
  2. OK... 1. Terry Shea was a bad coordinator. His opinion mean virtually nothing. 2. Miami wanting to get rid of him is somehow supposed to mean he's not good? I'm not so sure they were a good judge of talent either. Didn't these geniuses pick Culpeppy over Brees? 3. Isn't an over the middle possession guy what we need? We've got speed...and no hands. 4. Um, I think just about every person on earth would prefer Chambers over Booker. That's not an option here. The option is Booker over Moose. 5. Ok, now you finally have something. I do put some stock in Parcells. However, I think he's just cleaning house and cap room for major additions, etc. I will give you this one. But still. I think he'd have unloaded Moose. Yes! I presume he'd be better...because he doesn't have the dropsies! THAT'S HUGE!!!! ...and he's not prone to throwing his teammates under the bus like Moose has done time and time again! I think that makes him a better fit at the moment.
  3. Thanks for the post Prophet... It certianly lends credibility to this discussion!
  4. First off, let me quote Mark Twain..."There are lies, damn lies, and statistics". Number can be deceiving. I'd love to see a stat on drops! Or even better, drops on potential first downs! However, even if we look at numbers, they are about the same. Moose 12 TD's to Booker's 10. Moose 2183 yds to Booker's 1979. However, look at the teams. Besides the odd year that was last year, the Bears had a much better running game...thus opening up the field for WR's. Also, let's not forget that Chris Chambers was the #1 man in Miami for at least 2+ years, whereas Moose was the #1 man in Chicago. I think given that...Booker's numbers are more impressive. And Miami's QB's certainly weren't any better than ours. I'd venture to say they were actually worse. This isn't a change for s%&t's and giggle's. I think, and many other do as well, that this is an upgrade. And that if Marty is signed, Moose is let go. I actually think he'll do more to help the team than Moose and his butterfingers and under the bus throwing ways...
  5. I honestly don't either... But at least as far as this part of the year goes...we can dream!
  6. I guess we just disagree. I think he is an upgrade to Moose. I don't see the dropsies...therefore, I see a better addition. Not to mention, Moose has been throwing players under the bus left and right recently. I'm not sure he isn't a cancer in the locker room...
  7. The big difference is HANDS vs BUTTERFINGERS.... Neither guy will cost too much in the grand scheme...I'd rather go with hands and Marty.
  8. One word: "smokescreen". Why tell everyone we're in the market for a tackle? Best let them think we're hapy as pie with the matador. I'm for bringing the guy in...
  9. Drunk, you beat me to the punch! It's the HANDS! Big hands vs butterfingers!
  10. Agreed. But Booker doesn't have the injury history. I think it's time to cut ties with Moose, unless we can't land another vet in FA.
  11. Signing & trading Rex I don't think will work. Kolb is the starter there if McNabb goes, and Rex wants to start somewhere. But, I would love to see the Bears deal fo McNabb as long as they don't give away the bank.
  12. I think regardless, it's worth picking up Booker.
  13. I 3rd that! Bring the big hands back! I think enough time's past by...
  14. Yeah...all we get are picks. ...with absolutely no guarantee they they will pan out! We know what we have in Hester. He's probably the best return man the NFL has ever seen. On top of that, there's an upside to him that we've not even tapped into. It' could be just a flash once in a while, or he could turn into a scary WR. I'd rather chance it with him,, than numerous picks in the draft. You're wrong, if teams start kicking away from Hester...then we get awesome field position! Granted, our inept coaching staff and inpet players couldn't do much with it. With with a real big boy offense, that kind of field position is gold! Unless Ray Guy comes out of retirement, no other kickers are good enough for coffin corners. An out of bounds punt usually means a lousy kick. Yeah, I'll agree that he has his highest value right now...but I don't want to even consider it. I don't think we'd get enough in return. We get a lot of mystery that could be bust or boom. Odds are...it's a bust. Just look at our track record...heck, look at every team's track record other than the dang Pats! Draft picks are usually busts. Hester is simply something special. Something special needs to given in exchange. Picks aren't special enough. Not to mention, I don't believe teams would be willing to give that much up anyway.
  15. Huh? Please tell me you're joking, because if not...THAT IS JUST CRAZY TALK! What does getting a few more picks get us? It's a crap shoot in the draft. We already hit the Lottery with Hester! We would trade possibly the best return man in NFL HISTORY, for some "Maybe-Who-Knows"? And I don't believe we'd get that much for him. Minnesota (and the rest of the league) learned their lessen from the Hershell Walker deal. ...and what do we have left? We have the face of our franchise getting neck surgery, our best lineman getting leg surgery, adn...not much else! Hester is all we've got! He was the only thing that made this season bearable!
  16. I'd be OK with that. I may opt for a LB (give the new Url news) or a WR in the earlier rounds...
  17. I pretty much agree with the article. There is reason for concern. Henceforth why I was interested in Laurinaitis this year (until he decided to go back to OSU). I think we need to be on that same page now. Whether it's this draft or next, MLB must be in the mix and fairly high up... We need to groom a successor. I don't see Briggs as a real answer. I'm kind of in a funk over this news. Here's hoping he has a speedy recovery and comes out better. Set well soon Brian!
  18. Let's be honest, the whole thing is a crap shoot!
  19. I follow...we are basically arguing semantics! I hear you on getting Rex easy. I think there's some interest out there, but basically any team other than us that has a decent interest will probably get him. Berrian's trickier just due to the fact it's so thin at FA in that position.
  20. I think we are cloer to agreement than our verbiage seems to indicate! ...and hell yeah, I'd want to shoot for 16-0 if we could! I believe they tried in 85 and just fell a shade short!
  21. It'll have far more to do with their O Line and AP than anything Rex or Berrian would do.
  22. Because I think that's the odds of both those guys going to Minny. 1. We could tag or sign Berrian 2. We could sign Grossman 3. 30 other teams could go for Berrian 4. 30 other teams could go for Grossman To me, that makes the possibility of having both guys end up in Minny a slim chance. Minny isn't the only team out there with loot and needs.
  23. Agreed. I'd rather just sign Berrian to a long term contract...or even tag him over paying that loot for an injury prone player.
  24. The odds of them getting both I imagine are slim. But I could see them landing one of the 2 depending on what the Bears do, and who else is bidding on Berrian. I think Rex is theirs if they want him.
