Thanks for sharing that local perspective! I know Cowherd on ESPN nationally was giving Phillips a hard time this morning on my way in to work. I guess it may explain why Billichik has a handful or rings and Phillips can only complain about the music city miracle!

I don't like either option! I'd propose others...but given what you've given me to respond to, I'd take Griese over Culpepper. Niether are that good, we've already got Griese locked to a contract, and Culpepper has looked horrid in Miami and Oakland. There's a chance he could look a bit better given more healing time, but he could also be a complete injury bust. But it's not that easy... So much depends on who would be the starter, etc... Given that, I might choose diferently.

I wouldn't use the term meager...but no Stroud means a far more meager Jags D... I think the Pats have a decent running game, but not great one. I will revise my prediction! The Pats are going and will run the table...regardless of who they play.

Does anyone have a really good mock draft site they go to? I'd like top see one with multiple rounds. Not just round one...maybe something through the 3rd. Also, has time expired on underclassmen becoming available for the draft? Thanks in advance for any info!

I like most of your ideas but Culpeppey! Stay away!

I fully understand and have no real problem. But if you're Romo...why not just wait until the end of the season. Why set yourself and your teammates for questions they don't need to be fielding? I presona;;y think it doesn't mean jack...but if the media's going to run with it as you know they are..why give them something else to latch onto? Hold off a few weeks and then travel the world...instead of budget Cabo.

Thanks for checking on that! I guess as a 7th or undrafted, I'd certainly say, "what the heck!"
-
OK. I'm sold! You make great points. As I mentioned earlier, I would content with OL...I just want good value. And I don't want to miss a HR hitter at any position we've discussed just because our OL is not up to par. I just don't want to fall in the trap that we MUST draft OL.

I for one wil still watch even if they force feed Grossman, Benson and Fred Miller down my thoat. I won't be happy, and I won't spend a dime on the Bears, but I will watch. But I follow your OL thinking, but wouldn't your thoughts change a bit if we addressed it with someone like faneca in FA?

I have a frined that went to Wheaton that swears this guy will end up being a darn good LB in the NFL. Seems like a decent enough prospect in the late rounds... Does anyone have any info or insight? http://condraft.com/database/division-iii/...aker/index.html

I agree...I just don't see WR as the 1st pick.

Drafting another LT would be ideal! Damn the competition, etc! I'm just from another school on OL...I like the FA mode and a later round than first. For every Joe Thomas, there's a Mandrich. Same could be said of all the positions really... I guess I'm more of the mind that we have SO many holes, that in the 1st we should virtually take the best available. I'm content in honesty with OL, RB, QB, WR, LB, S....andy of those that's a worthy candidate should make a positive impact on this club. I don't want us to reach. Plus Angelo could be using the term "competition" as BS. 1. He could legitimately mean that, and maybe bringing in a complimentary back that differs from Benson. 2. He could be BS'ing and has no intention of making any change at RB. 3. He could be BS'ing and completely want a replacement. THis is a tough year to make judgement calls about this team. The past few season seemed a bit more easy. Now, there's just too many holes!

I follow...

A fairly young home run hitter that can catch, block and do some damage up the middle. Kind of a lot to ask for! I'm not sure who that is. I like what I've seen with Mendenhall. I like what I've seen of Michael Turner. While I'm not sure either really will fit the bill until given the chance, I'd be comfroatable as a fan if either of those 2 made it on the team. There are others too, but as far as the bigger names we have a shot at getting, those 2 look about as good as any.

I think we've all come to that conclusion. Please don't take offense, but it's kind of like saying we need air to breathe...
-
...us Bears fans know all too well about stagnating with QB's!
-
Thanks for the vid! I hadn't seen that before. I've only seen him in Bears pre-season games.

Interesting stats...I'm not sure I like any of the 4 guys you mention! Although, I'd be most happy with Young of the group. I'd take Manning over Rex due to less miserable games. I do think that we still should draft a QB if there's a guy there that warrants the pick. Just because we've miffed on our picks and other team have as well..it's no reason not to try. I just don't see guys that will be avaialable in the 1st as worthy. Now, in the 2nd...is another question.

I hate to tell, but draftin an O-Lineman 1st will more than likely not have an immediateimpact. For every Joe Thomas, I canrattle off dozens that were either bustsor took a while to get it. Whereas RB's tend to show immediate benefits. That is the non-busts like Benson. I refuse to acce[t that we have to be stuck with Benson. Right now, his dollars aren't that high, and he's shown to be competent when splitting carries. We should improve the OL in FA...and draft in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th depending on the talent available.
-
Count me in! I'd love to see him in a Bears uni!
-
There you go using logic again! I couldn't agree more...
-
I'm not sure that's saying much. I think he like to have Rex in to compete for the job. I'm not so sure he REALLY wants him if his price is too high given what we already know about him.
-
At leas in my case, you're preachin' to the converted! I wanted to see more of him. I don't have undying faith in NFL talent evaluators. Otherwise, why did Brady or even Montana go so low in drafts...? And why did Andre Ware go so high!?
-
No arguement there!
