  1. I'm hoping the karma pendulum swings the other way next season...both in officiating and injuries!
  2. Officiating is just really poor in particular this season...
  3. Yeah. You don't like Iggy? I love me some Iggy & The Stooges... That's just me apparently. Well, we now know where you stand on Ditka, so having him sport the crappy sweater is not surprising that you are upset. What's the difference between professional football and advertising? Don't both pay you for services rendered? Don't get me wrong, I don't like the campaign. Yeah, I threw up in my mouth a bit the first time I saw it. But, I do get what they are trying to do. I just don't like it. But, I'm not up in arms over it. It'll soon be forgotten. Whereas, his leadership through 85 never will be. For all the bad he did, one cannot argue with the results of 1985. It wasn't all him. But he was a big part of it. What's wrong with trying to make as much money as you possibly can? This is America. As long as you don't infringe upon the rights of others...go nuts. If I could, I would. But no one wants to see me in an ad except maybe my mom...
  4. Fair assessment. Iggy Pop is the paragon of anti-establishment. And he's used his music to sell Carnival Cruises and John Varvatos. All can be forgiven. It's the product that we love from the past that holds the memory. Not an ad campaign. Ditka knows where his bread is buttered. He may shill for anything, but he is and always will be a Bear. Mongo and Jimmy wore the actual damn jersey. I forgave them. They too did it for the loot.
  5. It's a funny campaign. They have Jerry Rice putting a Dallas star in his front yard too. I'm sure more to come... ...and coach never has turned down an ad gig! Throw any color clothing on his body...we all know what colors he bleeds.
  6. Agreed. I was honestly hoping for exactly this. (Barring the end result...) I wanted us to be smart, and be in games every game. No more blowouts. No more complete stupidity. Yes, we still make some mistakes. Yes, we lack talent (especially on D). But we are in these games. All of them so far when we have Cutler under center. We are no longer a joke. That is this season. Next season, we build on that. Draft well, get a few key FA's and keep moving int he right direction. By year 3, we should and need to be in the mix for a run at the SB. I just hope we can keep Gase and Fangio around as long as possible...
  7. Yup. Time for someone new... We've seen this movie already.

  9. I heard something on the Score today regarding potentially Bushrod to NE... But I think it's pure fantasy. At this point, I think getting rid of Cutler and Jeffrey is stupid. Forte, if we can get something is a logical move. Emotionally, I don't want it either. But, it would make a good long term move if you could get enough value...

  11. Agreed... Given my work schedule I only really catch the tail end of Mully, the start of Matt & Jason, the end of B&B and the start of Lawrence. I generally like Holmes the best.
  12. F Berstein. The Bears owe him nothing... They owe us. Bring a trophy home! That's all we care about! And do it with class, dropping bad eggs and not deflating footballs...
  13. The youth movement continues! I hope the man gets help, but he's not needed on our team anymore... Here's hoping Hood can contribute.
  14. Dammit man. I'm trying to forget everything regarding the Trestman era!
  15. I think having Leno beat out Bushrod would be the best. We need youth...
  16. Love what I've seen from Amos and Langford.
  17. Bennett alone had about a dozen I thought!
  18. 1. Play calling on our side was poor. So many times in the red zone with nothing by FG's. Why run it in OT when you were moving the ball effectively through the air. Playaction... 2. Pass rush was non-existent. 3. Jay can't throw the pick in the red zone. Basically, this was the Lions' game. They were due for an uptick, and we were due for a downtick. It played out that way thanks to the refs as well. We still have a long way to go. But, we were competitive til the end. I just hate how conservative we went in OT. You just know the Lions were going to get something...you can't keep giving them a chance to win it. Coaching C QB B -/ C+ (the red zone pick was horrid) RB B WR B TE C (too many drops and not enough hussle from Bennett) OL B DL D LB C DB C We get a week off to re-group. Let's get the Lions back when they come to our house.
  19. Exactly... And wasn't there a huge hold non-call on McPhee on the long pass to Calvin in OT?
  20. Get in line... It's as long as a Disney ride on a peak Saturday.
