I just sent a league email. I hope he gets it. I saw that you were co-commissioner last year. It's too bad that didn't carry over.

I've been on vacation from Bears chat because I needed a break from the idiocy of how our team is run. I even wrote George McCaskey a letter at the end of the season to express my unapproval for how the team is run by Nagy and Pace. None of that has changed. What did change is we drafted Justin Fields. He's a football player and game changer. Pace did nothing but get lucky with him falling far enough to take him. He still has yet to help much drafting the O all the while giving up picks and depth. I feel we are never going to get over the hump with Pace and Nagy. Fields can still be great, but he can't change every playcall Nagy makes at the LOS. I see this team can be the Doug Collins' Bulls. We have the talent at QB, but we need coaches that actually give our WR's and QB's a boost, not just hinder them. The defense is getting old and we will lose Hicks soon. Maybe Mack. It's OK. As long as we have a better GM not giving away picks to reach for guys every year... I expect a 6-11 season, no matter id and when Fields plays. Our opponents are tough this season, our OL and secondary are weak. It's a recipe to be middling. I'm OK with that. We have Fields. Now we need the right GM to build around him and the right coach to build a gameplan around him. Not have Nagy force him into his fantasy gameplan that even Joe Montana probably couldn't run.

Yup. Nagy fingerprints were all over it.

Gotta start somewhere. I did what I can do. I know it's jousting at windmills. But it was cathartic writing and sending it.

The Nagy-Pace party is back for another year

When Pace is finally relieved of duties after 2021 when we go 4-12...he will give the keys to the barn, and then toss a Molotov cocktail behind him and burn the barn down as he walks away. He will mortgage the future away so that no GM coming in will be able to have much success for a number of years. The draft will speak volumes. If Pace doesn't give up much draft capital if any, it means George is telling him to just lay low and give us one more year of service. I'm not sure George is shrewd enough for that scenario. But, it's possible. It's all a ruse to just really tank and re-boot next season. -
Will do. I used to work for a similar type of company. Eventually the broken clock got it right, and they brought in a guy that believed in modernizing. That one person brought them from profitable to extremely successful. I honestly don't trust any McCaskey or McCaskey "consultant" to purposely get it right. I hope one day, we just luck into it. If they like money, imagine what windfall winning will bring? Hell, even a few more games at the stadium brings loot. Yeah, they have been conned by Pace

I've heard form a number of various sources, none truly official, that the first "Lazor" game was still mostly Nagy. All of Lazor's plays went through Nagy, then the next 2-3 were more Lazor...which was when we saw our largest uptick. Then, once Nagy got off the hot seat, he took it back like the first "Lazor" game where it all went through Nagy. Seems plausible given what we saw. If I'm wrong, I hope George corrects me. But, even then, not sure that'd be the truth.

January 13, 2021 Dear Mr. George McCaskey, I am a longtime fan of the Chicago Bears and currently am on the waiting list for season tickets. I am currently 50 years old and have been a fan for as long as I can remember. My father passed his love of the team down to me. My father even went to college with the great Dick Butkus. My dad sat me down at a very young age in the mid 70’s and asked that I watch Walter Payton run. I did. And my life was forever changed. I watched some very bad years. I also watched some great ones. Including the best of all time, 1985. I’ve read countless books on the great Papa Bear and others throughout Bears history to gain a greater appreciation of the team. All my years as a fan, I’ve never written the club. After today’s press conference, I am compelled to do so. I have watched this team regress over the period of three years. I watched GM, Ryan Pace, draft poorly in the first round. I watched Mr. Pace give up a tremendous amount of draft capital for players who aren’t performing. I watched Mr. Pace promise me that he’d draft a quarterback every season. He has not. I watched Coach Matt Nagy not groom a young quarterback. I watched Coach Nagy tell me the team should run more, when he is the one making the call on how often to run. This is the Bears. We run the ball. I watched coach Nagy give up play-calling and see some success with Coach Bill Lazor. Then, I watched coach Nagy take the play-calling back, which resulted in some less than stellar performances against our most bitter rivals, the Packers and the Saints. I was truly hoping your press conference today would allow the fan-base to get a fresh start. Instead, we are getting more of the same. A trajectory that seems more regressive than progressive. To say I am disappointed is an under statement. While I respect what Mr. Pace and Mr. Nagy have done, they simply have not done enough. One winning season out of three is not what this team should be striving for. Sadly, watching more of the same from these two men is leading me down a path of apathy. My passion has simply been put on hold. I simply do not trust these men to lead the team. They need to regain my trust to gain my passion. I just do not see that happening after what I’ve seen for three years with Coach Nagy and longer with Mr. Pace. I currently live near Los Angeles, so I have to subscribe to the Direct Ticket in order to watch all the Bears games. I’ve been doing this since about 2004. This season, I am planning on cancelling that as I feel the cost of the Ticket will not be worth the product on the field. I will still watch what I can from the national games for the Bears and still root the players on. But, the questionable leadership from Mr. Pace and Mr. Nagy leave me with no other choice. I am hoping the Bears can again become a team to be reckoned within the next few years. But, I feel this coming season at minimum will not be worth expending much energy on. I will someday be a season ticket holder, and will take that responsibility to heart. I will attend games and root my team on. The Bears are in my blood. The Bears feel s like family. But, like family, sometimes tough love is needed. Now is that time. My parents and fellow Bears fans that I am in communication with feel the same way. Please consider a large chunk of your fan-base as unhappy with the lack of accountability from the head coach and GM, and we eagerly await candidates to fill those roles that are better suited for the job. Thank you very much for your time. My best wishes to your wonderful mother and matriarch of the Bears. Stay safe and healthy. Bear down. Sincerely,

One thing we learned is the every decision Pace makes about the bears i the "right decision". He said it. Really. He did.
-
Honestly, thinking about off season decisions under Pace/Nagy is pointless. We won't know hoe good or bad the move is until the next regime. You can't evaluate talent under these 2 clowns.

The Nagy-Pace party is back for another year
madlithuanian replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
I’m voting with my dollars. I will spend no money on any Bears items. I will not attend game unless I have to (I'm currently on the waiting list) and not buy any concessions. All until I see 2 seasons in a row of real success. I do not trust the Bears to do anything right. This is amateur hour. The only potential that this isn't a complete joke of a franchise is that they are just being cheap. They see the schedule next year and know it's doomed. So, why eat these contracts. Let it play out and let them go after. You can fire Nagy and just say Pace is a FA next year. Then rebuild. Maybe Georgie Boy told Pace he can't change draft stock, so draft where you are, so he doesn't sabotage future seasons. I'll be curious how the draft plays out. it might speak more to this theory... -
I'm not thinking so highly... Wins: DET & MIN at home, CIN, and NYG Losses: Everything else... 4-8 or 3-8 if we don't split w Minny.

Never trust a former mediocre Lion...

Yup. Fangio didn't send the house all the time, but nor did he have his DB's play 10-15 yards off the LOS. Makes a huge difference. Smith's D under Rivera was incredible. After that, just really really good. Our D under Fangio got to that really really good mode and touched upon the incredible. Pagano, mostly "C+" with a few instances of being very very good.

100%!!!!!!!! I could not agree more. They literally seem to be playing "prevent". Then when in the red zone, pure physics doesn't allow them to do it anymore.
-
Please and thank you. Except, keeping Nagy is not an option for success. He need to go. Anything involving him is simply a 100% wasted season and a waste of our time and energy.
-
Honestly, anything involving a high draft pick... And no Tru. I'm assuming this poorly run organization will retain Nagy, and having any hope means separating those 2 at the dinner table.

Well, like many here, this game doesn't look good. However, who cares how we got here at this point. It is what it is. The players are who they are. Coaches are who they are. We are predicted to lose. I hope we win. Let's enjoy this what what it is. A rare Bears playoff game. Let's worry about the off-season after the SB. Go Bears! -
I'd give up no more than a 4th. We need the draft capital.

Couldn't agree more...

Sorry, I've been absent for a while... Since last season, I've emotionally di-vested from this team. You guys have hit everything wrong with Nagy and Pace. I saw it last season and we've been seeing it again this season. I was hoping, that despite the ugly, that we were sill winning, that the light would go off and this staff would "get it". Nope. The fact that PAce has singed off on this staff...means he should go too. While strange thing still could happen. The record is great. However, Mark Twain said, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. Our record is good, but we don't pass the smell test. It's literally the worst offense I can remember seeing. I'm 51, and have ben watching for eons. Everything we do , looks so difficult. We don't look professional on offense. Defense is great...pretty much as always. But offense, we could usually hang our hat on a decent run game. But, Nagy refuses. No FB, no playcalls, the moment Monty starts going he's ushered off the field for another gimmick fail. I fear we will win enough games for McCaskey to let these clowns get one more year. I don't even care about draft position, good teams find way to get their guy. KC went 12-4 and got Mahomes. I just want a new GM and Coach. The experiment failed. I don't know who to get...I'm not smart neough for that. And we know no matter who you choose, there's no guarantee. Many great coordinators have whiffed as HC's. Smae w/ GM's... I'm just ready for a fresh start next season with an opportunity to still have a really solid defense and a reboot on O. There's not a single player on O other than Mooney that I would be sad to see go. (I want ARob, but I don't think he wants to be here - why would he?) Cheers fellas!

Fun draft guys! Cheers! I got a C! Much better than the D- I was expecting!
