BREAKING: Bears confirm Lance Briggs out 6 weeks (small fracture in shoulder), Cutler out at least 4 weeks (torn groin muscle). @ESPN1000

The good news is that he doesn't require surgery, but the bad is that the Bears will be without their best LB'er for atleast a month. This hasn't been a good last 24 hours for Bears fans.

that sucks. I guess the era of Boustic begins early. I noticed the line was a little more stout with him in there but the worry is his pass defense. Trial by fire it is....
-
yeah me too, he helped me beat my opponent that had Payton Manning as his QB, thank goodness I have Demaryius Thomas and Decker as my starting receivers....that helps too with Jeffrey as my flex. So he greatly helped me push my record to 4 and 1 letting me take sole possession of 1st place in my fantasy league...show me the money
-
This is bad, he was the best DLineman production wise so far this season, and now we are even more decimated at the DT position and if there is no push up the middle the outside rushers have no chance as the QB will just step up in the pocket.

Heard on the Score he was whining about how Cutler is the only Bear that hasn't reached out to him since he retired. Sorry Urlacher, he is too busy learning the new offense to make you feel loved and missed...
-
Brad Biggs was suggesting that they brought back Adams until the guy they got from Dallas has learned the offense enough and to give John Scott a couple of weeks to get truly healthy then they will be cutting Adams and resigning Scott.
-
This is my first fantasy draft so not sure if I have it down yet:

RB Forte
RB DeMarco Murray
WR Demaryious Thomas
WR Eric Decker
FLEX Alshon Jeffries
TE Vernon Davis
D Bears and ST's (Hester and friends)

Here is a link to an article about it. Looks like they really like the rookie Wilson.

I completely disagree.
But, to each his own.
It's only what you make of it.
I personally like all the posters here, including you.
I miss some of the old ones, but just like life...as one door closes, another tends to open. So, I have have equally enjoyed many of the new voices.
Life is too short, and I'm too old to take anything here personally. I love great debate. Sometimes we have that, sometimes we don't. If you don't like that particular issue, ignore it and go on to the next one. Otherwise, odds are you will get caught in the tornado and make a bad situation worse. Just some words of wisdom from this old man... It's like TV. If I see "Full House" on, I don't get angry and upset. I simply turn the channel to "Game of Thrones". Each post is it's own channel. Turn to the ones you like, ignore the ones you don't.
exactly! well said

So if a person can only get fined 25% of their weekly salary and it was a preseason game where, per numbers given in this thread they are paid $1500, shouldn't the fine be for no more the 25% of that $1500 payment at the most?
-
They looked really nasty in the run game, I liked what I saw in that regard.
I agree, Long has that Bigcat Williams kinda nasty the Bears have been missing!

CHICAGO – Chicago Bears rookie middle linebacker Jon Bostic is apparently lighter in the wallet after the crushing preseason hit he put on San Diego Chargers wide receiver Mike Willie last week at Soldier Field.
Bears' starting weakside linebacker Lance Briggs tweeted on Wednesday morning from his Twitter account (@LanceBriggs), “Shaking my head moment. NFL fines Jon Bostic 21K for his clean hit against the Chargers.”
Briggs went on to Tweet, “Bostic's s hit illegal. Hit on Dustin Keller. Legal.”
Keller, a tight end for the Miami Dolphins, suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason on a low tackle by Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger. The hit is legal by NFL standards.
Bostic’s targeted Willie’s chest region on a short pass to the right on the third play of the third quarter that was ruled incomplete last week in the Bears’ 33-28 victory over the Chargers. Bostic was not flagged on the play.
The rookie out of Florida is scheduled to earn a $405,000 base salary in 2013 in addition to a $1,246,036 signing bonus. He can appeal the fine.
Bostic has been working as the Bears’ No. 1 middle linebacker since veteran D.J. Williams suffered a calf injury at the beginning of training camp.

Just heard on Mike and Mike that Bostic was fined for the big hit last week. Wtf? that was a legal hit, Goodell is ruining the sport.
-
"They were fired up; they were excited to be out there," Cutler said of the rookie linemen. "Keep going with those guys and (offensive coordinator/line coach Aaron) Kromer will coach them up. There are some corrections to be made. But I was at ease having them in there, which is nice."
Looking like Cutler is in both the rookies corner and that is good. It is nice when the starting QB is excited about , and confortable with the people that are paid to keep him upright!

The brought in a whole new coaching staff, the progressions mean nothing now really. I'm just pointing out that he did indeed have a good final 2 months sand the San Fran game. I like how you said or something,
New scheme on the OL takes those progressions last year and throws them out the window
9 games is 2 months+ right? 8 of his last 9 games he didnt allow a sack. If that's not stellar than I don't know what is....All you meatheads do is look at the negatives and forget the positives.
Welp I can't touch on the other games but I know the one game he did allow a sack in that 8 of 9 stretch was against San Fran, I watched that game and broke it down for everyone here. He got little to no help. I can't touch on the other games but idk why they'd only leave him on an island vs aldon smith and max protect against the lesser opponents in the other 8 games.
Well the reason he was on an island in that game was that Carimi was just as bad so it was a race to the QB and therefore they had to try to get Carimi help as well as at that point he couldn't stop anything and was getting bull rushed into the QB. Pretty sure they had max protect going most of the time towards the end of the season, as was pointed out by a few people on here in the I love Webb posts from then.
Some people getting fired/cut
