  1. Unable to recover from his last injury, damaged goods are not something to invest any money in.
  2. I think it is pretty cool that Oba and Brendon are going to be able to play with each other this year. I have always thought that was something that is even more exciting when family members are able to play with one another on the same team.
  3. I think that the commissioner took into account how things progress last season as this was coming to a head. The Bears suspended him for a game, missed another, served jail time and appears to be taking responsibility with his actions. Hopefully Tank will follow through on what he is stating that he wants to be the poster boy of being someone who has had trouble, rebounded and became an NFL Player of the Year. I hope that Tank does everything in his power to accomplish this task and has no more problems off the field. He should be grateful that he will not have to miss the entire season and maybe back in time for the game at Philadelphia. Best of Luck Tank, here is to your future.
  4. According to the Trib Alex has already been demoted to second string which is disappointing. Granted I know Mark Anderson had one helluva rookie campaign however, Alex still deserves to be the starter until someone beats him out. I agree with jackie hayes that as long as Alex does not get to the point of being like the clown boy that wants out and has publicly stated that he will never play for the Bears again. I would be sorry to see Alex go and wishing him continued success where he would land.
  5. Why this is even brought up is beyond me. Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith are so convinced that Sexy Rexy is the man at QB and I do not honestly seeing the Eagles parting with McNabb. (IMO Rexy will never be the man.) I would love to see Donovan come home and get back to the bowl however, I do not see this scenario happening. I am not sure what the people who came up with this are thinking however, the probability of it happening are slim to none.
  6. I definitely agree with you on this DaSox24. Hopefully it will be a smooth transition for Devin to get on offense. Imagine the option of either Hester or Davis on third down, I like our chances for getting another first down.
  7. Personally I hope that Briggs does not show up to mini-camp. He wants out and there has not been a solid offer presented to JA at this point so Lance is either going to have to play for a measly $7.2 million or sit out for probably the entire year. It still bugs me that these athletes are all high and mighty and feel that they are being short changed after getting such a huge pay raise. I wish that someone would insult me with such a hefty pay raise. I have said it before and I will say it again, sign a player to an incentive filled contract and if the player meets the incentives, fine pay the bonuses, if not will the player give back what he does not deserved to be paid. Rosenhaus is an overly arragant douche bag that for what ever reason tells his clients what they should do versus advising them to be professional and respect the game and their talent that has allowed them to be the athletes that they are. Hell even with the Tank situation discussed on ESPNews today, Rosenhaus came off as an ass that I want to just beat the shit out of. It is people like Rosenhaus that give professional sports too many black eyes.
  8. I am not surprised by this move and SS2K5 is right that it appears that there was a rookie or two that maybe something special enough to make this team.
  9. It is going to be interesting to see how David does through camp and what he brings to the table. The write up expresses that David definitely has the talent to play however, 1-AA is a lot different then the NFL. If he does succeed, who gets cut at the end? Moose is a lock, Bernard as well. I think Mark definitely deserves to remain and Rasheed make too many clutch catches that he deserves to stay. I would be shocked however, not disappointed if Moose was let go because of age and wanting to give Bernard and Mark every opportunity to have break out years. Roughly eleven weeks to go until Training Camp starts. We'll see how mini-camps go as well.
  10. Exactly, basic football 101. Prevent 3rd and longs and you keep the defense from getting into the backfield. If Benson is as good as JA and company think he is, 3rd and long should hopefully be few and far between as Benson is running well and then you through in a pass or two to change it up a bit and make it hard for even the best defense to get to your backfield. Big test to start the season in San Diego, especially with Ron Rivera there and helping Ted Cottrell devise a game plan to disrupt the offense to prove to Lovie that Lovie made a mistake in letting Ron go.
  11. I really do not think that Leak will even make it out of training camp. I think Orton will remain and Griese until his contract is up, unless Grossman gets hurt and Griese plays balls to the wall all out. We'll have to see if there is a quarterback in the next couple of years that JA and company will think is a can't skip over and bring in to generate more buzz about a starting QB for the future of this team.
  12. I hope that Cedric proves his worth this year by 1. Staying Healthy 2. Proving why he was the #4 pick overall when we drafted him. We have had as everyone remembers two incredible backs that were the #4 pick overall that have gone onto have Hall of Fame Careers. I just hope that Cedric has a good year and that he excels as a player and a person.
  13. May all who believe that Rex will turn into something special, that Rex does have a break out year. I will continue to disagree until he some how proves me wrong however, I do not think he will. We'll see what happens come September 9th at San Diego.
  14. It is disappointing that Ian is leaving and going to the Eagles. I just wish that it would have worked out for him to stay in Chicago. I agree with DrunkBomber that Ian may wind up with a better opportunity in Philadelphia. Ian thanks for the time you were here and best of luck in the rest of your career.
  15. I be interested in Keyshawn to a degree with the fact that some of the other WR that we have are not working out well. Imagine the WR Corp of Moose, Bernard, Mark & Keyshawn with Davis to handle key third down situations. That would be pretty good however, I do not think that JA is that interested in that at this point. Besides who would Keyshawn the ball at this point? I am only able to hope that Grossman is what others think that he can be. Then we need to be able to stretch the defenses with the passing game. Time will tell what happens.
  16. I just watched most of the Chicago Rush's game against the Philadelphia Force and Bobby Sippio had another real good game. It appears that Bobby is setting records in the AFL and is probably one of the, if not the best player currently in the AFL. Imagine if you are able to, Bernard on one side, Mark on the other and Bobby in the slot. Or what ever combination for the situation. It seems that Bobby is highly motivated and a real physical receiver and has the speed to stretch the defense. It just seems that he is doing well enough in the AFL that someone in the NFL should be taking notice and why not the Bears. Time will tell if any team has noticed however, I think it is time an NFL team should notice Bobby Sippio.
  17. Is it not bad enough that we already have a problem with QBs on this team to decide that it may be fun to add another QB who was not that successful in college and was lucky in last January's National Title Game because his defense kicked some Buckeye Ass. Chris Leak struggled his entire career in FL and I understand he was learning Urban Meyer's system the last two however, I do not see him making the team and I hope to hell that Grossman has a far better year in 2007 or we are going to struggle to make it to Glendale.
  18. To trade down with San Diego for the 62nd pick in the draft and stock pile additional 2007 picks and a third round pick in 2008. What in the hell is Jerry Angelo doing. Trades away Thomas Jones who is really a high quality back for basically nothing at this point. I do not understand this logic and wonder what the hell is next. The other thing that is frustrating me is that the 2nd overall best QB IMO is still available to be drafted and losers have been drafted ahead of Drew Stanton including the goof from Notre Dame who everyone was hyping as a possible #1 overall. I think Quinn is highly overrated. I just hope that JA does something worth a damn as this draft continues.
  19. It is now official, Greg Olson out of Miami is the selection. This does seem like a good pick to add quality to the Tight End position. It seems that the concern with Olson is his blocking ability. I am pretty happy about this pick up except for the fact that his agent is Drew Rosenhaus.
  20. Never played for us and thus was not mentioned here.
  21. At least Charles Robinson got those two bad draft picks on his board versus just mentioning the players. One of my all time busts is Curtis Enis and the more I think about it, David Terrell did not impress me either. I know Curtis was mentioned in the article and David should have been. Don't forget Alonzo Spellman who showed promise and now plays in Arena League II. I also remember John Thierry as not living up to his potential either.
  22. Now they are saying that besides the Bucs there are four other teams inquiring about obtaining Briggs to include: Giants, Broncos, Bills & Redskins. I am not sure where the best deal may come from however, I would imagine that it will take place most likely on Saturday as the draft starts. We'll have to wait to see how this plays out however, it is definitely getting more and more interesting as we near the draft.
  23. Hey Bomber, I agree that Quinn is definitely overrated however, I think Russell will turn out to have a pretty respectable career. I also agree on Drew Stanton. Becoming a Michigan State fan thanks to my wife who is a grad, I have watched Stanton for his entire career. I just wish that things would have worked out better for Stanton and MSU unfortunately John L. Smith was not able to create the magic that he had at Louisville while coaching at MSU. I am not sure about Peterson being all that, especially with his dumb sommersalt move that hindered his last year at Oklahoma. I also agree that the hell with Kiper. Do not know how or why his is considered one of the best in analysing college to pro talent. I do not think that he is that great as it is anyhow. Overall I am not sure how this year's draft of players is going to do however, IMO Russell and Stanton are definitely the two best QBs available.
  24. The NFLPA should appeal this for Urlacher then Vitamin Water should pay the reduced fine. This to me shows that Goodall is getting a little crazy in cleaning up the mess that the bad players are making the NFL. This is completely insignificant in regards to the problems that some of the players are presenting to the NFL that Goodall is doing a good job of cleaning up. Either way this is bull that this fine is that high.
  25. Can you believe this crap that the NFL is pulling with Urlacher. Fine of $100,000 just because he wore a Vitamin Water cap and they are not a sponsor of the NFL. Where in the hell do they justify such a large fine for something that merrily insignificant? I would understand a monetary fine however, not such a large amount for something so trivial.
