  1. I just do not completely understand this. Brown has proven his worth to this team time and time again. Anderson started out with a bang his rookie year on third down plays and then disappeared. Supposedly Anderson played well at the end of last season however, to me that is just not saying much. Having a quality player who may not be the best however, shows true leadership, heart and effort to me is worth more than the risk on someone who continues to prove nothing week in and week out. As we have talked to death, there should have been a major shake up with this team back on January 4th and we are still suffering for the inept abilities of the people that are still destroying this team. Granted I do like the addition of Peppers and Taylor to this team however, there are still to many fundamental issues that this team is oblivious to.
  2. I was actually one of the moderators or administrators for TalkCubs.com however, do to the low membership (I think only myself and maybe two others) the guys who own the Talk Chicago Sports sights decided it was to expensive to keep a live. I have started a group on Facebook of the same name and even there I struggle to get the 23 members to talk or debate about subjects on the team. I even have an old classmate who is I think a professional blogger who is adding to the group as well.
  3. Defense definitely seems a little bit better and if the players who were injured all return, the "D" should be better. I am still worried about the "O"-line however, and do not see much to improve that.
  4. Always thought Quinn was not as good as his hype while at Notre Dame and I am shocked that Cleveland thought so much of him when he came out of college. I think he is better then Chris Simms by a very small margin and that is the only positive for Denver in trading for him. Apparently McDaniels wanted him last year when Cutler wanted out.
  5. He may not have the game that one in Minnesota does however, he is the true AP and I am sad to see him go. He was a hell of an asset to our team while he was here. Will miss AP and hope he catches on somewhere and has a great 2010 season.
  6. NFoligno, we agree once again. If Martz is a so called genius when it comes to the offense, why the hell does he not utilize the talents of the players that he has. I do not like the signing of the almost 300# TE that played for the Chargers and I am still not that convinced that Martz will help correct the offensive short comings that this team has. Olsen may not be an All-Pro right now however, this offense has struggled for quite a while and Olsen definitely has not lived up to potential and it is not all Olsen's fault. Just like Cutler's poor season last season was not all his fault. I hope that if Olsen is traded away (another huge mistake in my opinion) that we definitely do not settle for a low ball offer. With T.O. I think the 49ers were tired of him and took what ever just to move him out of town.
  7. The Broncos just tag him as a first round tender which of course eliminates the Bears instantly.
  8. He is an accountant who is only in the position because of his loyalty to the family. He does not know what the heck he is doing and as we all watch what is going on, we continue to regress and are becoming more and more of an embarrassment to the league and we should be the example for the league. No one is going to fear this team at all in the upcoming season.
  9. At this point anything out of Halas Hall from the coaching staff to management is insulting to each and everyone of us.
  10. This is just how pathetic that this team is becoming and the McCaskey family does not give a damn about truthfully what happens to this franchise. I am not excited about Martz, Marinelli is a stiff at best and you want to talk about their upper management, Ted Philips needs to resign and Jerry Angelo still needs to be fired and the house needs to be cleaned of the crap that is infesting the organization. Another sad day in Chicago Bears history.
  11. Hi Mark, Glad to hear that you are your family is safe. Hopefully your extended family is all safe as well. Take good care and always my best to you and your family. Robb aka ChitownMan
  12. I am with you all and hope that Chile and his family are all right.
  13. If we could only get McMahon to find a group to make the McCaskeys an offer they could not refuse to sell the team, the World may then just be all right.
  14. I agree with you on this Mad, I think Hanie has done more than enough to prove that he deserves to remain #2 and do not want a washed up and washed out Bulger.
  15. I understand what you are saying Connor however, what if it was both Smith and Angelo who made the final decisions on the people you listed and they did not listen to DePaul? I just hope either way that we get what we need right now which is a total house cleaning from the President down.
  16. According the the article on the Trib's website: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...l-director.html, it appears that Bobby DePaul who was the Pro Personnel Director has been sent packing. It appears that DePaul and Angelo had a decent relationship however, the relationship between DePaul and Smith was not the best. It appears that DePaul was instrumental in obtaining Jay Cutler and other notables as John Tait and Thomas Jones. So it appears that all the decisions are going to remain with two people to hopefully turn this team around in 2010. I would not hold faith that Angelo and Smith will make the right decisions to right this increasingly sinking ship. I am hoping that this will be the beginning of the end of the Angelo Smith regime. Maybe Philips will have the brains to bring DePaul back after cleaning house in January 2011 and let DePaul continue to do what he may have been doing to right the ship only to be vetoed by Angelo and Smith.
  17. I am surprised that Rex Ryan hired a DB to coach his "D" line. Hope that Carrier does well either way, just not what I would have expected.
  18. So LT2_3, I am not able to have an opinion about a person that I still have no real faith in and I understand what you are saying about the third round however, if you look at everything overall through all the rounds that Angelo (or as I prefer, Jack Ass) and tell me truthfully you are completely satisfied with everyone that was chosen. I personally am not a fan nor will I ever be a fan of Jack Ass. For each positive step he takes, he takes at least three to four negative steps. The Bears have not had a decent General Manager or Talent Evaluator since Jerry Vanisi was let go from his position. Until someone who all the fans are able to respect and trust in regards to player evaluation and getting the right pieces in place. My point is if you look at the third rounders mentioned, you are able to show and look at things that prove that Jack Ass is not that great of a talent evaluator.
  19. From what you have found, it is pretty scary to see the draft picks that Jack Ass has come up with in the third round. Only one for sure that has been worth a damn is Briggs and yet I can give you as an example Briggs crap that he spewed prior to getting his big contract when Jack Ass placed the Franchise Tag on him. Not a great citizen to really want to root for. Metcalf was not much of a player otherwise we would not have let him go and he would not be an unsigned free agent if he was worth anything. Berrian was another money grubber that really has not done much for Minnesota at this point. We all know the disappointments of Dvoracek, Wolfe should never of had a draft pick wasted on him as he is really to small to be hugely successful in the NFL, Okwo just never was anything, Bennett I am disappointed did not have a better year with being reunited with Cutler, Harrison so far seems to be worthwhile, Gilbert & Inglesias are still completely unknown as the coaches did not do anything to give them an opportunity to be on the field however, it looks like Inglesias may wind up being expendable. This does not bode well for the future and continues to prove to me that even though once in a while Jack Ass makes a great move (Getting Cutler), there are far to many more errors that Jack Ass makes to continue to ruin this team. Unfortunately for us, the accountant does not understand and has blind faith in Jack Ass and will not make the change that was needed back on January 4th. We'll have to suffer another year at least before ideally a true house cleaning may come about. Then again we are stuck with Accountant Boy as the President of this organization and he is to dumb to know any better that he is not qualified to be in charge of an NFL team.
  20. Congratulations BearSox fan, that is totally awesome. I agree with M.L. on this and your job now is your studies and doing what ever you are able to do in order to help the Huskies keep their winning ways. Good luck in the rest of your college career and hopefully we'll see you one day putting on the "Holy Grail" of NFL uniforms!!!!!!!!
  21. I was most disappointed once again with the results of the Hall of Fame balloting for enshrinement and Richard Dent being excluded once again. Dent as well all know was a key piece of the puzzle in the '85 season that we went on to win Super Bowl XX and Dent name the game's MVP as well. Dent is just as deserving if not more so then Bruce Smith, Lee Roy Selmon and you could include Alan Page in that conversation. The statistics that they have come up with prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dent is more than worthy however, the selection committee again fails to include one of the members of the Bears that has proven on the field that he earned and should be enshrined. I am always disappointed when players who deserve to be enshrined don't get in because it seems that members of the media or selection committee seem to have an ax to grind with Chicago and it players and the fans that love the team so much. I know there are players who do not deserve to be enshrined however, Dent's stats prove that he is seven years plus over due for his rightful place in Canton. Dent is also more deserving than two members of the 2010 class.
  22. I never understood why they wanted Hester so bad to be a true legitimate receiver. I understand he has shown "mad" quicks however, I do not think he had the right size as a receiver. Today's receiver are bigger, taller and able to dish out punishment. Plus the fact that they were further attempting to change the player that he was, which was a defensive back. Hester did very good as a return man and that is where Hester should be concentrated on. Let Hester be the returner that he is and once in a while you could put him in the slot just for fun however, our return game needs his explosion if he still has it.
  23. Hell, from what everyone tells me that, "We Are All Crazy In Chicago" and didn't Johnny & The Leisure Suits have a song by that title? Either way I am with Mad on this and just appreciate his spin to attempt to see something positive from what has transpired since January 4th. Personally I am more depressed about this team and the way it continues to slide down hill versus being the strong franchise it is supposed to be as the founding franchise of this league. I'll forget it about more once the Bowl is over on Sunday and will focus even more on the Blackhawks and their lack of a legitimate Stanley Cup goalie, the ineptitude that also resides in the United Center with the Blackhawks and know as well that pitchers and catchers report for spring training in about another two weeks or so. Granted when the end of July comes around and training camp opens, I will be just as excited about a new season until reality sinks in once again.
  24. It is going to be interesting to see how it all plays out and I agree that I am more concerned with the "O"-line and the DBs and the DL at this point and time and just not getting to excited for the 2010 season. Granted when we get to the end of July and get into Training Camp I will get a bit excited until I see how things play out through the season and at this point I am not able to expect to much and would not be surprised if this all blows up in the face of the franchise.
  25. Definitely seems like a kid to me and not sure how Cutler will respond to him if Day is hired to be the QB coach. I am still not excited about any of these hirings for this team and hope that my doubt is changed come September 2010.
