  1. There are teams out there desperate for QB help, I wonder if there would be a market for him now. I know it would be a bold move as it would leave us with a rookie at #2 and we would have to bring in a #3, I also would admit the chances of this happening is about as good as me retiring next week, (sigh) but I would think he would be interesting in NE throwing the deep ball to Moss or in DET tossing the ball to C Johnson. Even SF is experiencing a revolving door at starting QB. He would not garner much, but I would like to get something in return for him and I do not see him being resigned at the end of the year unless things fall apart in the Orton camp.
  2. The new picksheet for week 8 is ready. Please enter your picks before the start of the 1st game on Sunday. http://www.talkbears.com/Contests/index.htm Thanks and good luck! I am out for blood this week John - Pixote
  3. Iguana - congratulations! You are the week 7 Pick'ems Guru! Jarrettsmama ties with 9 wins but loses the tie breaker! Great Job!!
  4. Man that sucks. I was so happy to see him finally get a shot and he did quite good. Then he gets ko'ed in his first game. Dumb luck. Hope he returns and continues to develop. I liked JA drafting him, was disappointed to see him cut, happy to see him resigned to the practice squad, was curious how he would do when given a chance in week 7, and was excited to see him in action. Now he get's injured. Did I say this really sucks? Yes, I guess I did.
  5. This is the ay I see it breaking down: Chicago: Currently 4-3 Week 8: Bye Week 9: DET – W – There is no way we lose this one Week 10: TEN – L – I hope I am wrong here but they are looking mighty good Week 11: @GBP – L – Assuming Rogers is healthy at GB I see a loss Week 12: @STL – W – I see no problems here as long as we contain Jackson Week 13: @MIN – W – If we can beat them with no starting DBs healthy, we can do it again Week 14: JAX – W – Jacksonville is on the slide Week 15: NOS – W – At home I feel we can take them – they have NO defense Week 16: GBP – W – Crucial game that gives us the lead in our division Week 17: @HOU – W – We will finish the season strong with a win here Chicago final total – 11-5 Green Bay: Currently 4-3 Week 8: Bye Week 9: @TEN – L – I think on the road at TEN will be a loss for GB Week 10: @MIN – W – MIN will never take them if Rogers is healthy Week 11: CHI – W – At home I think they will have the advantage over CHI Week 12: @ NOS – L – A slugfest – Bush should be back – NOS edges it out Week 13: CAR – W – At home they will take down the Panthers Week 14: HOU – W – I see no problem with them beating HOU in GB Week 15: @JAX – W – Again, JAX is playing bad at this point Week 16: @CHI – L – We will take them down with home field advantage Week 17: DET – W – No explanation needed Green Bay final total – 10-6 Minnesota: Currently 3-4 Week 8: Bye Week 9: HOU – W – I think they will edge this one out Week 10: GBP – L – GBP have too much offense for MIN to handle Week 11: @TBB – L – They will struggle against one of the better defenses Week 12: @JAX – W – You can tell I do not care much for JAX this year Week 13: CHI – L – Again, if we can best them minus 3 starting DBs, nuff said Week 14: @DET – W – No explanation necessary Week 15: @ARI – L – Arizona torches their secondary Week 16: ATL – W – Not a given but I assume they will do fine against ATL Week 17: NYG – L – Not a chance in hell they take the Giants Minnesota final total – 7-9 Detroit is currently 0-6 having already having their bye week and things are looking BAD for them. They play Was, @CHI, JAX, @CAR, TBB, TEN, MIN, @IND, NOS, & @GBP. It is hard for a team to go 0-16 as it is for a team to go 16-0 (well, almost) so I have to believe they will win one somewhere, so since I have been picking on JAX in this post, why not continue. I predict they will squeak out a game with JAX and wind up 1 – 15 for the season.
  6. It has been a long time (if ever) I have seen Turner's name as a Kudo (game ball) candidate. If our defense can step it up, and I think they will if Vasher & Tillman return healthy in week 9, then the sky is the limit for this team. I am looking forward to seeing the Bears with their "new" offense. I think this off season we will see a WR pickup to deepen our lineup. Now that we have a QB that can be effective, it is time to add some weapons for him to use. Before I feel it would be like buying shoes for a double amputee. Now I see it as a necessity.
  7. LOL, he threw 3 INTs. I am not sure his other stats but hey, good luck! (not)
  8. Thankfully we have a bye week next week and can give our secondary a chance to get healthy. It was a great game! We were so thin at the CB position I am amazed we came up with three INTs and kept this game in the win column.
  9. Fantastic! Congratulations! I know it has been asked before but I do not remember reading an answer, what did you name your son? Best wishes to you and your family!
  10. And what is your third option? LOL - Tough Matchups. I would probably roll the dice with Anderson. I know he has only had one good game (against NYG) but would you want to be the next QB to go up against a pissed off NYG defense? I would take my chance against the Skins. After all, STL did ok against them. OH, they might be pissed off also, LOL. I still would go with Anderson.
  11. Congratulations to flea, winner of week 6. He edges out staley - both had 10 wins but flea had the tie-breaker! Great job guys! A tough week for sure.
  12. I continue to be impressed with our ability to stop the running game of our opponents. We are actually 5th in the NFL in rushing defense. However, we are 27th in the league in Passing Defense. So we definitely have a problem that needs to be addressed. We are currently rated 12th in total defense, but we should be much higher if it were not for our pass defense. On Offense we are actually rated 13th in the league. I do not think any of us felt we would be ranked that high at this point. I certainly did not.
  13. I would hope we would win the turnover battle easily. If we do, and we stop Turner, we will win easily. I honestly think we win this one 30 to 17.
  14. Endurance is strength of rookie RB Forte The Sun-Times has an interesting article stating an argument that Forte's decline in running yardage is simply not using him enough. I am not sure I agree, as I applaud Turner for turning to the air when defenses stack the box, but it does seem to have some legitimate points. I was wondering what your thoughts are on this article?
  15. Nope, no restrictions that I aware of, our cool! (and thanks for the emails!)
  16. Not at all, there is no rule you can not have multiple pics in your signature. I have seen others with many more than 2. May I ask why you are concerned? You have no reason to be.
  17. http://www.talkbears.com/Contests/index.htm Good luck, will there be a PREFECT picksheet entry this week?
  18. Congratulations to bowlingtwig and sprout for getting 11 right in week 5, quite an accomplishment in a 14 game slate. bowlingtwig takes first and sprout 2nd with the MNF tiebreaker making the difference. Great job everyone, this is going to be a tough year, lots of upsets going on!
  19. NOS did everything they could to give this one to the Vikes.
  20. Works fine for me. Great catch!
  21. It never hurts to take a flyer on a QB and RB during every draft. Injuries occur and you need to keep players in the pipe-line ready to take over for a starter. Good teams do this. Angelo does it all the time on defense. He has to start doing it on offense as well.
  22. Actually, I'd prefer he return and play up to his past abilities, I was just asking a what if type of question, but hope it would never get to that point of wanting to trade him.
  23. Williams' Bear Debut May Be Near According to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times we may see Williams on the field a lot sooner than many of us thought. Now I see why they kept him on the roster. I doubt we see him as a starter until after our bye week but according to the article we might see him test the waters a few snaps before the bye.
  24. No, he's not sexy, but he is very hot.Check out the fantasy points over the past three weeks for four quarterbacks. The last number is the total of the three weeks. Quarterback 1: 13, 14, 19 = 46 Quarterback 2: 15, 22, 12 = 49 Quarterback 3: 16, 14, 14 = 44 Quarterback 4: 22, 11, 18 = 51 Now let's put names to those guys: Kurt Warner: 13, 14, 19 = 46 Tony Romo: 15, 22, 12 = 49 Jay Cutler: 16, 14, 14 = 44 Kyle Orton: 22, 11, 18 = 51 He's not "Sexy Rexy," but Kyle Orton has seven touchdowns in his past three games, his next three games are Atlanta, Minnesota and Detroit again (after a bye)
  25. Well the Vegas Bookies had us as 3.5 point favorites to beat Detroit. I guess they had little faith, LOL. We did quite well against Detroit. Now I see the opening lines for the next game with us favored by 2.5 points to beat Atlanta. I guess we still have a lot to prove to the Vegas Bookies. If we stop Turner/Norwood, we take them with out too much trouble. They also have Minny Favored to beat Detroit by 13 points and Seattle favored by 2.5 to take the Packers. I am a bit concerned that Minny will pick things up. I hope not. They play NOS tonight and I have a feeling they can upset the Saints because NOS defense sucks against the run. If they win that one and then defeat Detroit, they would have a little momentum coming into Chicago and should have their big left tackle back in the lineup by then. I think it will all depend on how we handle their running game. If we stop their run, we will take them without trouble. They will give us trouble with their run defense but their pass defense, ooops, forgot, they do not have one.
