  1. There has been times when healthy the Bears did not utilize him that much. I really feel that this guy has been unjustly crucified for his injuries. Obviously, this is not something he wants to have happen any more than us. If he had been able to stay healthy since drafted, he would have been in a position to get a contract similar to Berrian when his contract ends. I think when healthy, he is a better receiver than Berrian. I pray he is able to shake the "injury bug" this year along with Mike Brown. If Brown on D and Bradley on O can stay healthy, we will be a MUCH better team.
  2. Man, 5 QBs in the 1st 12 selections? Does your league give like 20 points per passing TD, LOL? It is hard to fathom and I pray it happens in my drafts for I would love to snap up the talent at WR & RB that dropped down the board! I would just go with a few sleeper QBs later and hope one pans out. (bear trap - on a side note I created a TalkBear Fantasy Forum at the top of the page where people have been posting the drafts they have done. You might want to check it out and see what some of your fellow TalkBears posters have been able to do in their drafts)
  3. I do believe, as ConnorBear said, he has worked hard to get better. Unfortunately, I also agree with you, so far I have seen nothing to show me improvement.
  4. The Ultimate Guide to NFL Defense If you ever wanted to read an in depth article on NFL Defensive Formations, this is it. A worthwhile read if you are a serious fan wanting to better understand the defensive formations used in today's game (and even some that are no longer used much).
  5. If our OL can play well, open holes for our RBs and protect our QBs I feel we can win our division and go to the playoffs. Once you go into the post season, you never know..... I am not talking major trade. I am not saying it even has to be a trade. If a trade, a conditional pick for a player a team is planning on releasing but wants to try and get something out of the deal. More than likely, it will be a FA cut by a team in the next week or two that is brought in to add, if nothing else, depth.
  6. I am a big Westbrook fan in FFLs. Like the starters.
  7. I was browsing leagues at Yahoo to see if there were any leagues with scoring systems set up that I liked and had opening (I know, I Know, I am already in 5 LOL) and I saw one with a max of 4 teams and a 3 round draft with the only starting position was kicker. Thats it, draft 3 kickers, no other players, play a 4 team league and have a 2 week playoff at the end of the year weith all 4 teams making the playoffs. LOL And there are 3 of the 4 teams filled! OMG, that is one sick league. http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/339097/settings
  8. Great to see ya again Noots. How's life treating you? Hope all is going good! Is there going to be a Noots' Notes column this year? TalkBears has a Front Page for news and it sure would be great if you decided to start up your column if you would include us in your efforts! Talk Chicago Sports Network (TCSN) I have no doubt DBDB would welcome your Column with open arms and set it up for you to be highlighted.
  9. I like your draft. I would have probably drafted different TEs and I am not high on Arizona as a team defense but from the looks of the other positions you probably waited until the end to fill in those positions because the other positions are very solid. Not a bad stategy. I agree, drafting #1 can be a bitch!
  10. I always thought Tank would be a stud DT so it would not surprise me if he became a Pro Bowler and very successful as long as he stays out of trouble.
  11. I would not rule out a trade. Yes, it would be a temporary fix, but I would be ok with that as long as we address the issue again in the draft next year. I personally think an NFL team should be drafting at least one OL player every year with one of their top 3 or 4 selections to keep a pipe line of youth and development at this critical area of the team flowing. Similar to the way Denver always seem to draft a RB every year.
  12. Up until last year our OL consisting of Tait, Brown, Kreutz, Garza, & Miller played pretty darn good. Last year was a different story due to age &/or injuries. Of those 5 starters, we drafted one, Kreutz, the other 4 were all picked up fron other teams, I believe all as FAs, some because of salary cap issues, some because the team they left thought they were better off replacing them with younger players.
  13. My guess is we are going to see a trade with another team for a guy that the other team wants to unload do to salary or a younger player on their roster taking over or we will see a player released for the same reason and we pick him up. Remember, that has happened in the past for us and paid off. Why not go back to the well again and see what happens?
  14. That surprises me, I always thought Idonije looked pretty good in limited ops on the DL.
  15. In the article, trying to read between the lines, I suspect they are looking around the league at options that are now or may in the near future be open to them. I got the impression they do not want to switch Tait back over after moving him this off season, that St Clair is their best option now, but if things "develop" they might bring someone else in to help solidify the situation.
  16. LOL, before this would have irked me. I was an advocate for getting a vet QB for 3rd string and send Hanie to the practice squad. Hell no, Hanie STAYS on the 53 man roster, he would be grabbed in a flash of the eye if the Bears tried that. He is definitely showing he is more than capable of being our #3 (if not our starter soon). He might be the QB we have been seeking for years. How ironic would it be that after all the QBs we have drafted and picked up as FAs that the best of the bunch might very well be an undrafted rookie from Colorado State. Too early to anoint him as our future savior at QB but it is fun to speculate.
  17. I agree, I was also disappointed that we did not select a QB in the draft and was disappointed in the selection of a TE who did not have the rep of being a skilled blocker. However, now I am tickled to have both Hanie & KD on the team. Both look very very promising.
  18. This, from what I heard on the Score this morning, is the same surgery that C Tillman had and he not only recovered 100% but was able to return and play the same season he had the surgery.
  19. I was pleasantly surprised with the play of our OL. I am very impressed with Forte, Hanie, Wolfe, & Kellen Davis. Was not overly impressed with Rex or Kyle, but not overly disappointed either. Jury is still out. WR is going to be a killer position for the Bears coaches to evaluate and decide who makes the 53 man roster. I did not like the first offensive possession of KC and the play of our 1st string defense during that drive but after that drive they played excellent. Just got off to a very rough start. The thing I like most about the game, as far as I know or have heard, NO INJURIES TO OUR STARTERS!
  20. I hear scouts saying this was pre-existing. This does not make sense. Yes, he had a minor back injury his freshman year in college. He missed a practice or two but no games from what I understand. He then went on to start 33 consecutive games, not missing any time do to injury in practices or games, all at LOT. Now if this was a pre-existing condition - a herniated disc - how in the he** do you play 33 games and never miss a beat? Maybe we should give the Bears the benefit of the doubt. I am sure if Angelo had any inkling Williams would have injury problems with his back, he would not have drafted him.
  21. I also really liked the way Wolfe played last night. I do not care if it was the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd string he was playing against, it does not take away from the fact he decisive, hit the hole quick without hesitation, had excellent speed and good moves in the open field. You can not take away the physical attributes he displayed just because he was playing against ## stringers.
  22. My guess is they are hoping that the slippage in performance last year was due more to injuries he was playing with than his age. He did play very well for us until last year. If you bring him back and slip Tait back to LOT then we upgrade LOT because I certainly trust Tait there more than St Clair. I do not like St Clair at OT. That is not, IMO, his ideal position. St Clair looked very good at OG last year, and if Miller and Tait hold down the Tackle positions in good order until we can get Williams on the field, then we can put St Clair at LOG. Once Williams returns, then Miller would be a backup, Tait goes back to ROT, and we should be set. I still expect the Bears to make another move on OL with a vet that is cut before the season starts. All this being said, I thought our OL played pretty decent last night. Next year in the draft or FA we MUST make more moves for our OL.
  23. I was at one time insisting we needed to have a vet brought in as the #3 as I did not like the idea of an undrafted QB being relied on if Rex & Kyle went down to injury. Forget it, this guy will do just fine. I would not mind seeing him get some time with the 1s, although I doubt that would happen.
  24. I agree, if Monk & Bennett hadn't muffed their catches, he would have won the game. Excellent looking QB prospect!
  25. Thanks Prophet, I see where you signed up already. Fantastic, great to have you join us!
