  1. Velus again. All he does is hurt us. Cut him today. Right now. Last week.
  2. agree, I amended my post to include that ball location can be fixed. But for example, if the ball velocity was higher, and the ball was thrown to the same spot at the same time, it would have arrived in place instead of behind (late).
  3. So Bagent's arm strength may be coming into these INTs. I LOVE the way he processes and gets rid of the ball fast, but he may not have quite the velocity to thread those small windows. WRs can help by fighting back to the ball, but I think now we know why a guy who is so talented went undrafted. Maybe he can build arm strength in the weight room. Ball location IS something he can fix quickly tho.
  4. Kmet having maybe his best game. For all his experience, people dont realize hes still only 24 years old, and still improving.
  5. Hes a great player, and maybe a step too slow to be a top MLB. A Hunter Hillenmeyer / Nick Kwiatkowski type. Great in zone, good tackler, a step late on drag routes in man. But hes definitely a Rudy player with a huge heart - a good WLB, who comes off the field in nickel.
  6. Velus Jones sucks. He is a liability. Cut him immediately.
  7. I agree, they signed him at the value of about the 10th or 12th best DE, given that they all dont get resigned in the same year. Still, I wanna see him feasting.
  8. youll be mostly happy with Bagent, hes played very well.
  9. me too - I thought he'd be the starter after the preseason, was surprised they went with Herbert.
  10. Ha i spoke too soon. 2nd and long - and then just as I am typing this... Foreman with the big run!
  11. There have been some mistakes, but overall, the offense seems to keep making positive plays. Making first downs, and avoiding 2nd and 3rd and long. I want to see Fields play out so I can give him the last chance to take the QB job, but if I had to win a single game right now, Id start Bagent.
  12. Fun stat from the TV broadcast. Bears are -37 points in the 3rd quarter, worst in the league. That means getting your butt kicked on halftime adjustments. Thats on the coaching.
  13. Sweat finally has some impact. Good to see. We need a lot from him for all that $.
  14. everyone misses a kick now and then, and if youre gonna miss, the best way is to doink - its the closest to making it.
  15. Bagent sees the blitz presnap, audibles out of the play, and into a screen that actually WORKS because the defense wasnt set for it. Thats good QBing.
  16. I totally understand your thinking. But I dont think Getsy survives, and so its gonna be something new anyway. I also (and you may disagree with this) think that Fields will never be an NFL QB. He's an incredible athlete, but he doesnt do the things we see Bagent showing us in terms of fast decisions, throwing with anticipation, general tempo and understanding situations - audibles, defensive weaknesses etc. he will have more games to prove me wrong this year for sure. Now I REALLY like Bagent. I worry about his long ball arm, but I have read that arm strength can be increased and developed. I dunno if thats true, but if it is, I can see Bagent becoming something great in the future. If not, hes the best backup in the league. maybe even now. But all things considered, I truly think that we have two top picks, and there are a bunch of QBs this year considered to be good, so I think you realistically have to take one int he first. Maybe not at #1. Maybe you like a guy like Penix or McCarthy in the middle of the first round. I dunno. But we would be bringing in a new QB with a lot more around them than any Bears QB has had in quite a long time. So to my way of thinking, until you have a top 5 QB, you are always looking for one.
  17. Look at Billings' strength blowing up the power big set from NO.
  18. I've been high on Bagent's ability since the beginning - I just think it's early to call him your franchise QB. There are questions around his arm strength on long passes. As for Fields, we will just agree to disagree. But Im not putting a ceiling on Bagent, but neither am I going into next year with him as the presumed starter without a top pick rookie behind him.
  19. yes first down. GREAT effort and athleticism by Bagent.
  20. terrible spot by the lady ref. Bagent reached the marker!
  21. yeah I loved the call on 4th and 1 too. Bagent did a lot of subtle things to manipulate the defense on that drive too. As one example, he twitched Mooney open on the first play.
  22. It's a great move. In the long run we will want to be building thru the draft, but having gotten rid of the previous roster and with having so much cap space, these are the right moves to make for now. And Im with you, DJ Moore and Montez Sweat, that's some good stuff right there. We need a QB
