yes and no. he makes plays, but he got beaten in coverage twice in the 1st quarter. at the least he is good depth, and he can probably contribute more than that, but you can pick on him too. Then again, its usually Smith who runs with the TEs, so Ogletree can compete with Trevathan for what they ask Trevathan to do. But it doesnt solve that problem, it just makes it younger, and maybe a better playmaker, but both he and Trevathan have trouble in coverage.

No doubt. we need Jenkins back ASAP. He is missing valuable snaps. Ifedi has more experience, so it's less critical with him, but they all need to be evaluated, and get some cohesion.

It sounds like Goldman was exposed or tested positive (and there are LOTS of false positives with these tests) and that he may not be vaccinated, so he has to sit out 10 days. It is smart for the Bears to have a backup plan for Goldman should he test positive again. Someone to plug in for a week or two, and they probably already have that guy on the team in Khyiris Tonga so maybe theyre looking for depth.

I have a guess as to what they're doing there. Everyone is freaking out that Justin Fields looks ready to start, and Nagy is asking the QB people who he knows best and trusts to help him evaluate Fields so he doesnt get too carried away with enthusiasm, or be too slow and careful, and he wants outside opinions to temper his own. And if Dalton was looking good and Fields like a rookie, he wouldn't need it. I am going to guess that the reason these guys are here is because Fields is looking like he might ready or close to it, and Nagy wants to make sure he makes the decision correctly.

true, but getting a veteran backup who wasnt good enough to be a starter doesnt give Jenkins more experience or solve the issue either. I think we just have to grow with Jenkins, or pick up a temp vet as we go through camp. There no reason to get one right away, in fact the reps for guys like Borom will eventually pay dividends.

I agree, but since we all know the dynamic, and the Bears really dont have any options, I doubt we will get a 4th. If we do, I'll be very happy to get it.

Id be thrilled with a 4th, a 5th sounds right, but if it was a 6th or nothing, Id take it just to get his salary off the books.

I sure hope so, and of course it's not Quinn's fault if they don't put someone in front of him, it doesn't make him any less. I'm just saying, I look forward to seeing it against competition.

I agree. They see Jenkins as the future at that position. Will he make mistakes as a rookie learning the position in the NFL as he goes? Certainly. But Stinger is right, it will be no worse than what we've already had at that position for many years. And there will be plays that are much better too. And in time, he may well grow into a dominant force.

Let's hope we are two of them. Three if necessary.

wouldnt it be great to have a decade or more where we walk all over the Pack and get that all time wins and losses back where it belongs, after the past 20 or 30 years? I think we have all paid our dues in full, and it's time for the dice to come up winners this time.

I agree, he is the best chance at a real QB we've have had since Cutler was coming in, before we knew how he would actually be. And Fields is nothing like Cutler. Lots of reasons to beleive in Fields.

me too, I read in various interviews that Desai's scheme is going to be more similar to Fangio's scheme, especially in how it relates to Jackson. But no matter what we do, if the front 7 plays like it should be able to, it's going to make everything cleaner in the secondary, and probably give Jackson more interception chances too.

One of the things I love about football is the way all the pieces of a defense interact. If the front 7 is as good as they can be, the corners are going to look like Pro Bowl players. I think we can expect to see Eddie Jackson return to form too. Once you start to dominate up front, everything else starts looking really good too.
