  1. Grizz, Montgomery is awesome, and he is MUCH better than Howard. I know the overal running game asnt great last year, but Montgomery makes fast decisions, hit the hole with authority, has a wicked cut, and fights hard for extra years. THe stats arent there, but if you watch him, you see that he gets the most yards possible out of every run he had. Oh, and also some personal attack. I dont have time to think of one, so just imagine one. Thanks

    What QB?

when the music stops, some QB is going to be left standing without a deal, and they will get underpaid on a short term deal, which puts MT in a position to win the job, and likely we pick a QB in the first round next year.
  3. no doubt. I just believe that Montgomery is one of the bright spots.
  4. Watching Montgomery last year, I am convinced that he is an excellent running back, maybe even "special" but he just had absolutely no holes, and no rhythm in calling running plays. Given a reasonable opportunity, he will succeed to the point where people will buy his jersey.
  5. I think 2nd string RBs arent so hard to find. If the OL makes holes, they do OK, if they dont, they get nothing. So, not surprisingly, I think we need to get serious about the OL. And I think that is still to come this year too.
  6. I've been wondering this too. And if we are building around MT, get him some freakin pass protection! More and more of my cut list from a couple weeks ago are being cut. Its early, but its all coming...
  7. its a great signing for sure.
  8. I was here then. Ive been here a long time. Im saying it makes you look weak and petty, and it's uncomfortable to read. I can give as well as I get, even if you have 7000 posts. My advice is to moderate the personal stuff because its really dumb and cringey.
  9. Stinger, this personal stuff is making this page less fun.
  10. I was remembering Graham the younger player. I just watched some more recent film on him. Yikes. I think I was right when iw as saying fire everyone. PLEASE make me eat those words Bears.
  11. This could be the Mike Glennon of TEs to cover for a draft pick, who can develop behind him for half a season if necessary. Just like Glennon, we may be thinking the money is more than it really is, NFL salary cap inflation is much steeper than ours.
  12. Either way., we wouldnt know, but we will soon
  13. I think they can get a 4th rounder for MT in a trade, since he has a year of his rookie deal left with a second year option. Pretty cheap to take a flyer on a reclaimation project for the #2 pick overall. Bear would have to eat $9Mil in dead space to remove MT. If they declare it a June first cut, it spreads it out over two years. But (and I know Im a tired record) it doesnt matter who is at QB if they dont have a clean pocket.
  14. I think Floyd is gone. I think it's more of a fire sale than people thought it would be, but Pace did the same thing with the WRs a couple years ago. Im still waiting to see what happens at OLT of course.
  15. I have been thinking the same thing. We can disagree with each other without being so condescending and stating opinions like cold hard facts, and calling people names when they dont agree. It isnt achieving the desired result of dictating from the point of an expert, it feels just internet fighty.
  16. I think that resigning Trevathan is a sign that the Bears will move on from Floyd, and replace him with a young player who wont be great at first. Trevathan provides continuity to offset a rookie. The logic may be that youre not getting production out of Floyd anyway, and you cant really afford a proven vet pass rusher there, so youre going to have to draft a young player to grow, so given they will be on a lower rookie salary, you can take a few dollars and keep Trevathan for the veteran continuity he provides to offset the inexperienced younger player. I think the odds of Floyd being traded or released just went up.
  17. this is good news. I gotta say, that while I really LIKE Kwitkowski, and I recognize his Rudy-like heart and grit, he just isn't fast enough to play in the current pass happy NFL. If you could transplant the heart of Kwit into a faster athlete, you'd have a pro bowler. This is an excellent move. I'm really looking forward to the next couple of weeks to see what the Bears do about Floyd, and other positions.
