  1. I assume you mean Montgomery, and yeah he looked good to me too, but AP had 6.6 YPC against us in the same game. Their total YPC on offense might have been lower, but AP carved us up. Also, thank goodness their other RB dropped that easy pass in the endzone, or we'd have lost.
  2. it didnt cost anything, and being a pussy sucks
  3. lol, well owning it WAS the bet hahaha The more i saw, the more Leno looked good. If he plays well this season, I'm gonna blame Hiestand for last season.
  4. Well, opening day happened, and Leno was the starting LT, so Stringer was right, he won the bet and I lost. I also think Leno played Ok today. He had a couple bad moments, but by and large, I give him a B. I'll still reserve judgement to see how he holds up against other pass rushers he will face, so as to whether I am right that he needed to go or was too hasty, I suppose that remains to be seen. I still get to complain about him if he sucks again LOL But today, he played OK, and Stinger was right, and won the bet.
  5. we will see how well they compensate for the loss of Goldman. If it has to be the ILB that make first contact, then AP could be averaging 4 YPC and that means a lot of first downs. I'm not predicting that, I'm just saying I hope the DL takes care of the run too.
  6. stopping AP will be job #1 for sure.
  7. they said he had a personal issue, and now his ankle is tweaked. How much do you wanna bet that he was goofing around doing something he wasnt supposed to be doing, and tweaked his ankle.
  8. this sounds very much like the plan they must be thinking - but it really means they havent been able to make a decision yet.
  9. nothing just pride. but youre looking like youre going to win.
  10. Quinn will play 3-4 OLB and 4-3 DE, but Edwards is a 3-4 DE and a 4-3 DT.
  11. hahaha yes. and we are one week away from what really looks like I am going to have to admit you were right about Leno. I still maintain that he is terrible, and the season may prove me right, but I assumed the staff would see it and do something about him, and they surely seem to be starting him. grrr, but I will admit I was wrong when it happens.
  12. He is a 4-3 pass rushing DT, and a possible 3-4 DE.
  13. They didnt make a decision. They kicked it down the road. We all know Foles can come off the bench, so they are choosing Trubisky while keeping that door open. I do hope the light comes on for Trubisky, I always have, but if it doesn't, this staff has stayed with him too long.
  14. Based soley on Nagy's quote the other day, I think it will be Foles. I havent seen them together to have an opinion on which I would prefer.
  15. we need a big name NT to become available. He can play a one year deal to get another shot next year when Goldman comes back to us. Also, I am very worried about the OL, but it sure does look like Stinger is going to win his bet with me
  16. sure, if Goldman can get $ and not play, and that's best for him, I dont blame him. But I dont want to watch a team that isnt that interested in winning. If I get the feeling they are just making a paycheck, and not really fighting, then I am turned off.
  17. So apparently Eddie Goldman has opted to sit out the 2020 season. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2020/7/28/21345072/bears-starting-dl-eddie-goldman-opts-out-of-2020-season-report Add this to the politics etc, and I am getting dangerously close to not caring at all about this team or NFL football for the first time in my life. I would say that the Bears were one of the things I looked forward to most every year too.
  18. agree, if we have money to spend on a decent free agent, put it on the OL.
  19. He knows what he is doing and he will help Kmet grow. He will be a win now piece, and a booster rocket for kmet's future.
  20. sounds about right. anyway I'm sure we agree, if you can rush the QB, it's OK if you're not the best playing zone in the flat. Quinn is a major addition to this defense for sure.
  21. totally. like I said above, about half the time they will be in nickel, and Quinn can have his hand in the dirt and just rush the passer like a regular 4-3 DE. But on base defense downs, Quinn will have other responsibilities too, so that might be somewhere he could struggle. But I'd rather have a guy who brings a ton of pass rush and struggles a bit against screens and in space than the opposite (Floyd).
  22. yeah but in a 3-4 if Quinn and Mack both rush, then thats a blitz basically, and youre down a man in coverage.
  23. I just read this article, and it makes an interesting point. Quinn played DE, and OLB will be new to him. I expect that will show most on keeping contain and playing the screen, stuff like that. But we brought him here to rush the quarterback, and Roquan has his back on that side too. And all of this only matters in base defense. We're in nickel about half the time anyway, and he will play four-man-front DE in that formation anyway. Im very optimistic about our front 7. Who do you double team? It's gonna be fearsome. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2020/6/18/21296170/chicago-bears-chuck-pagano-robert-quinn-3-4-defense
  24. He is a hothead. Remember when he hit a teammate with his helmet? Thats what this is.
