LOL I meant in KC!
-
well that's just in usual trade language, in this one, you'd be trading his rights. But Trubisky would need to pass one! Anyway, I'm just joking. It's an interesting idea on cold heartless value, but no human beings would ever really consider it.
-
I assume KC would like to trade Mahomes for Trubisky straight up right now.
-
if we cant get picks for him in trade, then I agree about releasing him too.

I think that Long has definitely suffered this year. That's one huge difference. I expect some growing pains with the Daniel / Whitehair swap but i dont think that's really the root of the problem we are seeing. I think Long is biggest culprit, and everyone else has just been kind of flat. We can blame Nagy for not playing the preseason, but we've had five liver action games by now, so we oughtta be in rhythm by now if that was the issue. And frankly, if were gonna judge Nagy, he did manage to get to 3-2 without risking any preaseason injuries, so his gamble did kind of pay off. I dunno what to say about the rest of the line. Let's hope they find their identity and move some people off of the ball.

I think one of the last things Pace would do right now is to trade draft picks for a RB. If you want to see the RBs on our squad transformed, update the OL, and they'll all look like studs.

I was just doing some reading, and found this. http://sportsmockery.com/2019/05/chicago-bears-salary-cap-faces-a-possible-crisis-in-2020/ Kyle Long was gonna cost us $9 Million next year, and extending Robinson will also open some cap space. We may not have picks, but I bet we can be active in free agency at OT. And we may already have the talent we need on the team, just developing - I'm looking at you Bars!
-
LOL - thats a funny question. Value-wise, while I disagree with it, it makes sense to ask the question. But the league, the press, the fans and players arent computers, and IF Pace traded Mack, he'd probably get fired soon thereafter.
-
It might be time for the youth movement on the right side of the line.
-
I think a lot of the mental breakdown you see from Trubisky is because he doesnt feel comfortable in the pocket due to the OL play too. He isnt progressing as he should, but its not all because of him. Still, he isnt progressing, so it IS him in the end, but Im starting to think the path out of this isnt a new QB but new OL talent, which is easier to address in the offseason than a new franchise QB would be. That said, after a few more weeks of him, I might be really fed up.

Kwit isnt fast enough. he plays with a ton of heart. He is probably closer to the limit of his potential than any starter on our team except Mack. But his potential isnt that high. So I love the guy, but he simply cannot cover receivers, and the league knows it. Pagano hid some of that in his gameplan which was great, but kwit has already reached the limit of his capabilities.
-
Next year we might have a couple new OL, and they will be on rookie contracts, so we can afford to eat the bad vet OL money, even though thats not great.
-
thats how I read it.
-
the answer to all of your questions is "because the OL has been sucking" When I say Mahomes gets his receivers open, Im saying he looks off safeties. Daniel has done that too. Not as well as Mahomes LOL But in all cases, when you stare down your primary receiver, guys dont look open. Also, OTHER guys may be open and bad reads disguise it too. I think this is all on the OL and QB play.
-
I think what we are missing is a combination of the QB using his eyes to open up receivers, and the OL giving him time and space to do that. I think the WRs and the plays are fine. I wouldn't be shocked to see some new players on the OL, but I dont really know if anyone on the bench is really better than any of the starters. Except Long. He is done.
-
they are wide open because Mahomes uses his eyes to manipulate coverage, and find the open receivers. Notice how all the Wrs are in blanket coverage when Trubisky is in there, and the same receivers are open when Daniel is in there? Im not saying Trubisky wont get better, but this is who he is right now. And "some day" IS running out of time...

whatever the answer is, I hope Nagy is true to his word and watches closely enough to see what needs replacing. I love the family vibe he has fostered for the team, and standing behind people as they work through bad patches is an admirable trait, but sometimes you gotta make a change too, and I think and hope that this staff is able to do that.
-
round and round it goes... I think this loss and bye week came at the perfect time. I hope Nagy means what he says, and takes a critical look at his team and makes changes.

Id love to see it.

Schefter: Roquan Smith was not himself at practice

he looks OK. If it doesn't re-emerge, then cool. But if other stuff happens, people are gonna ask. For now, go kick some ass.
