The true answer to our problems is Colin Kapernick. and maybe we could get Antonio Brown.
  3. exactly. Had we picked him off of someone's practice squad, then we would have had to get him on the 53 man roster, and then clear waivers to the practice squad. in this case, he was already waived so no need to do that.

Dear football gods - please render this thread moot and make us embarrassed of what we are thinking right now. Make fools out of us please.

Oh dude, I dont blame you. But other than the greatest QB of all time, they generally arent waiting for you on your deep bench LOL If Bray is Brady, I'll poop a football. Gladly! Wouldnt that be great? (Bray being awesome I mean, pooping a football is never great) But in the real world, a franchise QB is only going to be available to us in the draft. Maybe one who needs (part of?) a year to develop. We could probably package our two 2nd rounders to get up into the #20 pick range...

Interesting thought about Luck, but I think the salary cap plan is to build with a QB on their rookie deal. Also keep in mind that Nagy wasnt part of the team when they chose Trubisky. Nagy's team chose Mahomes. Maybe Nagy + Pace = a smart QB draft pick. I just wish we had a first rounder next year, if we are considering this. Hmmm...

yup, from the most optimistic to the most pessimistic points of view, this is surely the consensus. I dont hear anyone saying if he's terrible this year, let's give him another, and I don't hear anyone saying that we should bench him now for any other option we may have. Well I actually have heard a little of that last one, but if you say Daniels or Bray over a couple games, they'd stop saying that. I still think Trubisky can turn it around, but I can't say if he will.
  8. We claimed him on waivers. If we had taken him from someone's practice squad then he'd need to be on our regular roster. Not sure whether putting him on the active squad makes him easier to put on the PS and cut later. My guess is that either Burton isn't healing OR Sowell blew his audition.

so true. but the assertion that Nagy didnt provide options, hot reads and outlets would be proved false by those tapes.

Hey Adam, if you watch the video Grizzly posted above, you'll see that the play calling was sound. There were many potentially successful options. #10 just didn't find them.

Well, he has this season, and then in the off-season, they will make a decision. Whether you come to a decision earlier or not, there not much you can do about it until then anyway.

I'm not ready to give up on Trubisky, but it should be said that Nagy wasn't part of the team when Pace chose him. Nagy's team took Mahomes.
  13. we we're going to need that high 2nd rounder to trade up to pick a QB lol
  14. I agree, the pass protection was awful all night. They had trouble identifying blitzes and just couldnt block. Its as if they needed a preseason or something...
  15. By the way, I brought up the idea of Cordarrelle Patterson playing TE a few weeks ago. It was my idea, didnt hear it anywhere else. Just sayin...
  16. Does this mean that Piniero kicks the winning FG to beat the Packers? That would be poetic.
  17. who is the 6 year vet? I thought PS players need to have two years or less of "accrued seasons" so one assumes there is a kind of redshirting process too, years the dont "accrue" But a 6 year vet seems unlikely. who did I miss?
  18. I just want to say, that while I do still worry about Piniero's consistency and mental state, I trust Tabor, Pace and Nagy to do the right thing. So I am not rooting for him to be gone, but I will be rooting for him to fulfill his potential and do a great job. I hope he hits his kicks, especially the critical ones, and grows into the kind of kicker we can really trust. Here's to Piniero breaking all the Bears' scoring records by the end of his long multi-championship career.
  19. Great. Pace has good prospects and depth all the way into the practice squad. Get used to having our practice squad raided going forward. I wonder if we will see any waiver/free agency moves at this point.
  20. If we keep him, Im ALL behind him of course. And I want nothing more than a good and steady kicker. I dont hate the guy, or love him. I see his talent, but he doesnt seem to be confident, and Im just saying I wont be shocked if Pace, Nagy and Tabor go another way.
