  1. I think when you look at those numbers from Kansas City, you get an idea of how poorly Jordan Howard fit the scheme last year.
  2. I think it's an easy prediction to make - you look at Kareem Hunt, and extrapolate similar success here. It's another weay of saying that Nagy has a great system, and they believe that Pace picked a guy that fits perfectly into it. And this was in the third round, after having drafted most of Khalil Mack in the first round and Anthony Miller in the second. Dont forget that We got a 2 back next year for the one we traded away. If Oakland sucks, and we are good, those two picks we swapped next year might only be like 10 or fewer picks apart. Pace is absolutely killing it.
  3. I agree. I still have high hopes for Shaheen. At this point I think it's hard to tell anything, because the roster is so large, they may be playing depth games with players that wont be on the team come September. Yeah, there are so many bodies at this time of year, it's hard to read anything much into it.
  4. The Bears today signed undrafted rookie tight end Jesper Horsted and waived guard Tommy Doles in a move that strongly signals that blocking emphasis is being shifted from the interior linemen to the perimeter. Clearly the Bears have already lost faith in Montgomery and this move shows that they will be running Cohen a lot more than expected to the outside. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/roster-moves-bears-ink-horsted-cut-doles Yes Im joking it sure is slow.
  5. seems like it, and it sure isnt the McCaskeys. I think it starts with Pace. Some teams pay lip service to it. In the video about the Bills draft they had some guy in the hospital wearing a wrestling mask make their pick for them. That didnt seem authentic to me. These Bears do.
  6. exactly, and if it doesnt it costs us nothing is my point. I was reassuring Grizz that Pace isnt giving away draft capital for nothing.
  7. right, he needs to be on the roster for 5 regular season games for the 7th rounder to apply. Pace knows what he's doing
  8. He was injured so they signed another kicker, and they had two.
  9. I just think it's so cool that when a player and a team complement each other, they often end up together, even if the drafting of that player doesnt work out.
  10. The Bears traded a conditional 7th rounder for K Eddie Pineiro I remember reading about him in the draft a couple years ago. It's interesting, with the league making so many trades and Free Agency etc, it's fascinating how players that we think will be a good fit for the Bears in the draft that we don't get to draft, sometimes end up on the team anyway later. https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-bears-trade-for-kicker-eddy-pineiro-20190506-story.html
  11. One assumes we wanted to wait to see if we picked up an amazing pass rusher in the draft. Of course picking in the 3rd round, the likelihood was really low, but let's say for some stupid reason Bosa (or whoever you liked best in this draft at edge) fell to the 20th pick, we might be willing to trade up at that point for him. Yes a totally unlikely scenario, but there was no reason to extend Floyd until you knew that didnt happen. It didnt, Floyd is good, we extended him.
  12. he had other suitors, and that was the orice it took, plus we were revamping the team anyway so we didnt need to worry about the cap money that year. I think Pace was hoping to get a first round draft pick for him in a trade the next year, but Glennon was worse than anyone thought. But he knew the whole time he was drafting a QB, so he never saw Glennon as the future.
  13. If he hadnt taken Glennon, then everyone would know he needed to take a QB, and the first pick overall would have been in play, and wed have needed to trade even more for him. Also, I think the idea was for Glennon to play while Trubisky learned. Also, it was Fox's offense... I dont think Glennon was such a bad move. Is he a bad QB? Yes. Did we all expect him to be a little better than he was? Yes. But still, it wasnt a dumb move.
  14. hahaha thats my joke! woo hoo!
  15. and the D too. Pace is killing it. Nagy is killing it.
  16. three simultaneous. now if we could only find kickers that can regularly hit the uprights...
  17. yes but there's a whole dust up about whether we all understand that LOL
  18. the play is the two outside kickers kick a little early, and they aim to doink off the goalposts, then the middle kicker kicks, and if he's gonna be off, one of the riccochet-ing balls knocks it back on track. So now we are actively looking for kickers accurate enough to hit the uprights regularly...
  19. I want to be clear. I really LIKE Howard. I think he gave his all and I totally wish him well. But if I had to choose between him and Montgomery going forward, well I'd go with what Nagy and Pace think.
  20. Nagy has a three kicker goalline formation in mind. It will be amazing.
