We can talk about defensive mistakes, but NFL teams are going to score 20 points. Nagy's offensive playcalling has been atrocious. It has been an obvious and consistent problem for years. He needs to be put out of our misery.

I think Pace is well educated on the trends, and plays his hand right. He's blown it in terms of talent evaluation sometimes, but not in understanding the market.

Amen to tackling and special teams coverage. That's not about scheme, or working together, or learning plays. It's just individual effort, and exactly the kind of thing you CAN evaluate in preseason.

I was calling for both of them to be fired last year, so of course I am with you. BUT for better or worse they have gotten this year to save themselves, and so we will see what the outcome is.

He had skills, and he certainly got a good look and time to develop, but i guess he just didnt make it to the level he needed to be at.

I think they were playing vanilla to set up personal matchups for analysis, and thats why Trubisky was able to succeed. However, whatever the plan is, you gotta make tackles.

with a good running back roster, and speed at the WRs and Fields a legit threat to run or throw, we should be very hard to defend. Now we will truly see if Nagy can call plays in rhythm.

agree, and his ball placement was dead on on every throw. early on the WRs didnt make the catches and use their bodies right ont he slants, but JF put the ball where it belonged. He looks like a QB.

I agree. But you can understand why they dont want to. If they knew about his back on draft day, and took a risk with a 2nd rounder to pick a guy who wont be able to play in the NFL, that is not going to help them keep their jobs. At this point, if Nagy puts a good product on the field this year, and he and Fields have rhythm with play calling and execution, it might just be Pace on the chopping block. Im not even sure myself what i think of that, but i can see things going that way if Jenkins never plays.

Ive been watching film on Peters. At one time he was a monstrous beast who owned the league. Now he is a decent, but not spectacular journeyman who will make some plays and whiff on others. He looks like a better version of Leno. So that IS an upgrade while we wait for Jenkins, but he will make frustrating errors and get beat too. All in all you cant say we've lost anything by losing Leno, but we are going to need more (Jenkins) before we can really turn the corner as an offense.

could be camp legs, could be swapping people in and out, whatever it is, special teams coverage was awful. I expect it to get better, so i wont hit the panic button yet, but yeah that is a real problem if it continues like that.

It really did feel that way, and i think youre right, that is a very telling sign.
