  1. I think Swift is good when there are holes, and Johnson is best in traffic. FOr different games, different guys will be the horse to ride. Trade Khalil Herbert for an OL?
  2. boy did you call it - you can see the difference in body language. Let's hope we can ride this momentum past this game too!
  3. he's been getting better each week. he is gonna be great.
  4. I agree. It just takes a spark to start the fire. Also, to be clear, while I do think DJ Moore quit on that one route, he is overwhelmingly a tough great player for us. I am not down on him at all. He's a great player for us.
  5. for sure. let's hope they can make it more consistent now.
  6. we sure do a lot of depending on WR blocking. Do we think our WRs have a better shot of winning against DBs than our OL does against their DL?
  7. DJ throttled down, Caleb led him correctly. It should have been a TD. But the one to Odunze was CW overthrowing for sure. It was out of the back of the end zone.
  8. so surprised Moore throttled down there. he obviously thought that he wasnt where the ball was going. and that good evidence that Caleb is processing the whole field. CW threw a TD there, Moore missed it.
  9. thats right. Johnson and a big body f*cking pound it in. it is NOT rocket science, we dont need an option play, or to run out of shotgun there. Just call football plays.
  10. right. In fact, the Rams are showing us exactly how to do it. They arent good, they have guys injured, but they look like football.
  11. absolutely. you can hear the crowd is loving Caleb and Roschon, and booing the line and the playcalling.
  12. Put another way - the Rams arent that good, and they have players out with injury. And yet, they look like football. That's coaching right?!
  13. A freakin MEN When we blitz, they throw the slant behind it. Its only worked for 50 years...
  14. Ugh that bubble screen come ON youre gonna get Moore killed.
  15. about the game - why would you gamble a 3rd down on Odunze's blocking ability? Also, I think Swift is more of a home run hitter than Roschon Johnson, but I think Roschon's vision in traffic is superior. Swift could have taken different angles, and fallen forward for an extra yard on each of his runs, and thats the difference between 3rd and 3 and 3rd and 5.
  16. I agree with you about 99.99% of the time. We disagree about this one. Time will tell
  17. well thats what makes horse races. In time we will have answers of course
  18. I agree with all of this except the first sentence. I mean, yes it is possible both can succeed, but I just dont believe in Daniels as a real NFL QB.
  19. I totally agree. I still think Daniels will bust out, but you can build a very specific offense for him if youre willing to only do certain things, but i dont see winning a superbowl with him. Caleb is actually looking better every week and doing the big boy in-pocket things a lot of QBs never do, looking off the safety etc etc
  20. Ive been watching the all 22 films, and I can tell you that Williams is getting better every week, and also hes doing all kinds of things right. Daniels is being spoon fed a "read half of the field" kind of thing. Hes a one read and the run kind of guy. we have the right QB, its just gonna take a little time. But there is a lot wrong with the offense, so it's harder to see, so I understand where youre coming from. Caleb is probably the brightest spot on the offense.
  21. This just came to mind, so Ill add it: Do we see any evidence from the OL that the HITS principle is in play? Hustle? Intensity? (turnovers) & Smart? The OL has not been smart, intense or hustling. Xs and Os aside, in terms of motivating people, is Eberflus only a defense whisperer? Is he checked out and leaving it to Waldron? Is he really just a DC in disguise?
  22. yeah thats fair too I have been cynical about Eberflus for a while now, so I probably won't change my mind on a dime, but i have also said before that i think there is enough talent on this team to win despite what I think of Eberflus. But now that I see the problems on offense, and I'm hearing from players now that the coaching is too friendly and not tough enough, and thats been kind of an ongoing thing Ive been talking about for a while from Poles on down, I do feel somewhat like my read was right? Now all of these guys are certainly professionals. I dont think Waldron doesnt know vanilla blocking assignments, I assume they all know this stuff. My worry is that they are trying to be too tricky, and that kind of Nagy-esque cuteness rarely fools the other professional staff of opposing teams. because they are professionals too. Tom Waddle said today something like "stop being fancy, and do simple things well" and when it comes to the running game and the blocking scheme, that means guys winning their matchups. And a lot of that is about "Want to" - weve seen Davis's level of effort, and if the team didnt come down on him, then what are other players supposed to think? Players have said that they were more afraid of Bill Parcells than their opponent. Thats one way to motivate, but certainly not the only way. But however it's done it has to include real accountability, or it's fake. How do you get more out of a player than that players knows they have to give? being nice alone aint gonna do it.
