What do you guys think of the whole Jay Cutler nightlife fiasco that the media is currently playing out. I think the Chicago media (especially the papers) have no clue anymore. This is probably one of the biggest weeks were you can generate interest in your product by building up a buzz about the draft and prospects, but they failed to do so and instead make it out that it is "evil" to go out on your time and have a good time. No wonder they are losing out and eventually going to have to fold. It cracked me up listening to the score tonight and some "nerd" called in and compared Cutler to a CEO of a company and that it was not proper for them to hit the club and have some drinks. I think it's great Cutler and Olson are hitting it off and can have some drinks together, thats how some of the greatest bonds can be formed. Hopefully they form a connection on the field also. I'm grateful of the respect the people of Bourbonnais have, if you thought the last picture of Cutler and Olson were bad, some of the things you see during TC could be taken just as bad also. These guys are just people, like you and me, let them live there lives and as long as they don't break the law WTFC.

Or how bout the last time we won the Super Bowl our leading scorer also wore #6. Just bring out your old Butler jersey, remove the B and stitch on a C and your ready to head down to Miami.

RD2-49 Louis Delmas FS - With the 1st and 2nd level WR's off the board, the Bears select the top rated FS. RD3-99 Mohammed Massaquoi WR - Bears had him targeted in RD2- Massaquoi is a quick big target the Bears are looking for. RD4-119 Zack Follett SLB - Bears need an upgrade over Roach/Hunter, Zack is a hard hitter, superb instincts, pass rushing mutha that JA is drooling over. RD5-140 Matt Shaughnessy DE - Hard worker that needs some fine tuning and body refinement. Attn:RodM/RustyJ RD5-154 Jason Watkins OT - Developmental player to groom behind Pace, Shaffer, and Williams. Another RT/LT prospect. RD6-190 Brandon Tate WR - Bears take a shot on a playmaker that can also do double duty as a returner. RD7-246 Ray Feinga OG - Big mauler OG that will fit in a power run game, needs some work w/ Dusty to get in better shape RD7-251 Morgan Trent CB - Big physical corner with big game experience WR and FS are the two biggest needs to be addressed this offseason. Delmas is a can't miss at #49 and only Nicks/Britt/Robiskie can change JA's mind here. JA goes early on D addressing FS, SLB, and a DE Marinelli can work with. On offense, WR was the biggest concern and the Bears grab two hoping to strike gold. Two offensive linemen are also picked and they will need to be groomed for a couple of years before they are ready.

I also think WR is the main target, but if Nicks/Robiskie are gone, we may look to move down to regain a pick. Move down 10-15 spots and regain a late 3rd to early 4th RD pick. There are some big football experts saying that the Ravens may even take Delmas, not much of a reach IMO.

draftcountdown has some good scouting reports, they seem to breakdown skill sets better. Walterfooball also has profile reports, but there really not as good.

He's slowly climbing up on all the mock drafts, the more people look into him, the higher he would go. I liked the piece they did on him on the NFL channels Path to the Draft. If Robiskie is off the board, I would'nt trade down very many spots if we're looking to draft him. I think if anything, we take him and try to move up to take Inglasias or Mossiaupo sp?

The Atlanta Falcons have urgent needs at DT, CB, OLB, and TE and want to continue to build the team around the franchise Matt Ryan. So with the 24th pick of the NFL draft, the Atlanta Falcons select..........Brandon Pettigrew TE from Oklahoma St. The Prophet is up next with the 25th pick belonging to the Miami Dolphins.

No problems, just giving some ribbing along with Madlith. The Eagles are starting to become depleted in the secondary along with many other positions, but the secondary was the hardest hit. So with there pick 21st pick they select the UofI CB - Vonte Davis. Jason and the Minny Queens are now on the clock!

Orlando Pace is like a 7 time all-pro. I'm fine moving our 1st RD pick to the right side and letting him learn from one of the greatest to play that position. After this move, I myself wish we would have now selected Brandon Albert (KC) who can also play guard, but I'm not upset over the C-Dub pick.

Is Detroit going to skip there pick? I thought they were going to do that with there #1 pick so they don't have to pay the top $$$. I had posted what it would take to move up earlier, here's a recap broken down as round & pick and what there value is: Its a possiblity, but we would be trading every tradeable pick to move up about 15 slots, that may give us: RD2-35, 3-99, 7-246, 7-251. Another player to possibly consider is Darrell Jackson Darrell Jackson 5-11 210 age 30 He was hurt most of 2005, came back to help Seattle in 2006 make it to the Superbowl, set record for most 1st Quarter Rec., was traded after the 2006 season to SF. Didn't produce at SF and released. Signed on at Denver!!!, but sat behind Marshall, Royal, and Stokely on depth chart. I'm not sure if he is suffering from an injury or just dropped off, but he used to be a stud at Sea. Maybe worth looking into.

Thats what I kind of expect also, I feel that JA will have a WR signed before the draft that way he can go in different directions. WR's still available Torry Holt, Plaxeco Burress, Matt Jones, Marvin Harrison, Ronald Curry, DJ Hackett, Drew Bennett, Jerry Porter, or Darrell Jackson. I do not forsee anymore trading of draft picks for players for a while now, so we can forget Moore WR for NO and also trading for Bolden. I can't see ARZ trading a team they may have to face to make it to the Superbowl. I hated passing up so many WR's, but with just as big of ?'s at the S position, I felt finding a young Mike Brown would be just as important.

The Saints top needs are OLB and DB. They can also look to add a RB, C, and ROT. Even though they added FS Darren Sharper, the Saints still draft: Malcom Jenkins FS Ohio St. They highly considered Oher for RT and Cushing for OLB, but felt Jenkins would make the biggest impact. Jerry Angelo and the Bears are really excited knowing they now have a QB that can get them back to the Super Bowl. With this new energy swarming, the players are also feeding off of it. It is now up to Jerry to add the remaining pieces to complete this task and keep young talent waiting in the wings to fill in for retirement/FA releases. Brian Robiskie WR Ohio State - At 6-3 208 and sub 4.5 speed, Robiskie is NFL ready with his route running ability and hands. He knows how to sit in the zone when a window opens and has a high football IQ. Has leadership ability and NFL bloodlines. Has been compared to Amani Toomer, and is notch below Hakeem Nicks as to a WR with similiar skill sets. B.) Duke Robinson OG Oklahoma - At 6-5 329 Robinson is a road grader that may also be able to play RT if needed. With a franchise QB behind center and a future star RB, Robinson is like an insurance policy. He has some work cut out for him to be a great NFL player, but his size/strength are probowl ready. With a crowded herd of Guards at Bears camp, they may look at Oline later in the draft. C.) Paul Kruger DE Utah - At 6-4 263 Kruger has a frame that can get bigger. Not much experiene for his age of 24, but has a lot of potential. Has a non stop motor, quick/agile, with decent strength. Mature, team leader that has a good work ethic. D.) Rashad Johnson FS Alabama - 5-11 203. Johnson is similiar to Mike Brown as they both have high football IQ's. They are both excellant leaders. Neither are known as being top notch athletes and use good angles and reads to make up for that. Johnson is known as a ball hawk that is always at the right spot at the right time, definately a playmaker. With there second pick in RD3 Pick 99, the Chicago Bears target the following players: A.) Brandon Williams DE Texas Tech - 6-2 261 - doesn't have top speed, but great explosiion off line w/ agility B.) Phillip Hunt DE Houston - 6-2 260 - Has great speed off edge but level of competition wasn't great C.) Mitch King DE Iowa - 6-1 280 Productive, great athlete w/ speed, nasty demeaner - too short/slow for end and small for DT D.) Sherrod Martin FS Troy - 6-1 198 good tackler, physical w/ speed/agility. didn't face top competition. E.) Fenuki Toupou OT Oregon- 6-5 318 size/bulk/long arms, physical/aggressive. good in run game, nasty demeaner. Oh well, cross him off the list. Man, how hard can it be to behave for 10 yrs of you life. I'm sure it's got to be hard with all the down time, but can you imagine only putting in 10 years if your lucky and be able to walk away with enough money to live like a king and take care of your kids kids for the rest of there lifes. R Williams is a player that interests me, he was a highly touted prospect that hasn't flourished. Maybe it had something to do w/ JAX. But when it comes to a complimentory WR to fit our other WR's, I think Williams can bring that Larry Fitzgerald type. Adding Williams should be cheap and it can give CHI more options in the draft. ------------------------------------------------ 2004 DRAFT PROFILE: Reggie Williams 6-4 212 40 time - 4.48--4.62 at proday Positives: Reggie Williams has good speed for his size, great natural ability, and excellent hands. He is very physical, has good strength, and rarely loses out on a jump ball. In terms of player toughness, he is arguably as good as any other receiver in college football. He has great strength and often manhandles corners that try to jam him at the line of scrimmage. He has a great work ethic and has a history of coming through in big games.Williams also takes pride in being a great blocker, something that is not real common in the college ranks. He is confident almost to a fault, and as a sophomore, he turned in the best receiving season in Washington Huskies' history. Negatives: There's nothing wrong with Reggie Williams' physical skills. He has adequate speed, but is not what you would call a real burner. But there are questions about his character. His is so confident, he sometimes comes off as arrogant at times and has had issues with teammates because of it. A Recent Scouting Report Assets Big, tall receiver with sure hands. A top red zone threat. Will make catches in traffic and move the chains. Has made vast improvements as a route runner in the past two seasons. Flaws A late bloomer who took forever to "get it". Still runs some lazy routes or misreads his coverage. Isn't a true burner and doesn't make the most of his ability to outjump defenders for deep balls. When I heard Cutler make this comment, It got me thinking about what Lovie says all the time. "It take 4 phases of the game to be successfull" "offense, defense, special teams, and the 4th phase the fans" What about coaching Lovie??? Oh thats right, you don't coach during the game, you just look confused and tongue tied watching the jumbo screen during games. Hopefully now that he will be coorinating the D, coaching will become the 5th Phase.

Another thing you have to look at is that Orton was in his FA year. The Bears were either going to have to resign him b/c they don't have anybody else ready (maybe Haine) or find another stop gap if they lost Orton. Orton was never going to be a QB that can win games alone, he could keep us from losing, but he has never had the talent to take over a game. His limititations as a pro were the same limitations as a college QB. He's a great #2 - stop gap #1 IMO. So, that left the Bears in a decision on how to handle the QB position. Do they resign Orton half way through the season, knowing his limitiations and knowing this will hold the Bears back in finding a top tier QB or make an effort at a chance that is never-ever available. The decision made was the right one, Lets look at this way: RD1-18 - Cutler - we get a franchise QB which none of us would complain about - we lost out on Nicks/Britton RD1-? 2010 - This would've had to go for QB if Orton didn't get job done again and we let him walk or sign a lowball deal. So draft day 1 sucks for Bears fans, but you know espn will talk about this both years. RD3-84 for there RD5-140 (4th pick 5th RD)- we swap these picks and move down 56 slots, since we have another 3rd RD pick, the blow hurts less. ------------------------------------ Now we have a direction to build upon. Cutler/Forte/Olsen/Hester. All tied up until 2012 and we haven't seen Bennett who I think will emerge kind of like Royal did. We still have about 20 million in cap space to maybe add another WR which I would prefer a tall WR in the mold of (turds) Plaxico Burress, Reggie Williams, or Matt Jones that can get up and catch those jump balls.
