The vikings rematch will be a good test. He wasn't playing so well which might have been from a heads hot. I expect pressure again and I hope he handles it better this round. Extra time this week to prep.

At least there are 7 games to get a deeper look. I have been trying to say the same that this is a young team, dealt with a lot of injuries, and until they get a big Win they don't have that confidence. Watch what happens if they go to Detroit and find a way to win. When you start to see some swagger, you know their confidence is growing.

Health and confidence goes a long way. Adding youth takes time to build that confidence. The Bears are rebuilding and the confidence hasn't shown up yet. A big win will do wonders to a young team.

Glad to hear this Pix! Take care of yourself and hope this means good things will come for you and our Bears.

You would think, but we are talking about the Bears. They were the worst offense 2 years ago. Maybe a slight increase the next year, ( one of the best run offenses). This year they are middle of the pack (bottom1/4 passing, top 5 rushing). The passing should be better, but let's see how they finish now that they are healthy
-
Look at the Bears roster since he was drafted. He came into a dumpster that resulted in firing a gm and coach, then Poles gutted the team. This might be year one where Poles has maybe 60-70% of the pieces of a decent team in place but they have dealt with an early load of injuries. It is hard to evaluate but eventually there cannt be any more excuses. The team is almost all healthy so it's go time.

Just some thoughts on NFL QBs Who would have known Stroud would excel and Young struggle. Is it the OC? Stroud has a young OC from San Fran who's been a passing coordinator Carolina has a young OC too, a former RB. As for this years top choices that have put up similiar stats. Caleb Williams height scares me, but Tua, Purdy, and Hurts are all 6-1. Russell Wilson 5-11, Kyler and Bryce Young at 5-10. Drake Maye has size at 6-4, but comes from NC which will frighten many Bear fans. Howell is playing well and also a recent NC alumni. Other QBs at the 6-4 range Trvor Lawrence and Justin Herbert at 6-6, Josh Allen and Daniel Jones at 6-5, Joe Burrow, Anthiny Richardson, and Jordan Love 6-4,

When you draft high, it's because your organization is bad. More QBs fail because of it. Mahomes went into the perfect situation. They were a QB away from becoming a contender. The Bears are building to become that, but still a year or two out. If Fields and the squad finish strong, I will say they have their young talent performing and maybe the coaching is sufficient for now. I think the Bears are in a tough spot and decisions will be career making or breaking

Imo, the foundation is GM, Coach, and then QB. With Poles and Cunningham, I feel pretty good we have that right. Coaching is yet to be determined. Why is that, young talent they are trying to develop. That young talent includes the QBs. We need an in between version of Fields and Bagent. Ramirez said it the best on the score this evening. Bagent makes quick reads because he has too. He is smaller and doesn't have as great of an arm for plays to develop. Fields can throw deep, has speed to run and size to absorb more hits, so he takes more time to let plays develop. When Fields returns, we may see him speed up his clock knowing that has been his biggest downfall. If the Bears decide to go QB and take one of the top two, there will be another year or so of growing pains. If they add another great WR and stud OT and C, the years of waiting could come faster. The decision will be weighed and tough to make.

Fields is under contract all of 2024. If they decide to sign his option, that jumps that year to around 30 million. They should use those 2 year to get it right. If that means they lose Brisker, Gordan or Braxton Jones because of keeping Fields the 5th year, I think it would be worth it.
-
Always bring in competition is my thing right now. If that means your top pick or a later one, it forces the best out of you. I want to see Fields prove it the remaining games but we have to be realistic too. The Bears can get the number one over all and get another kings ransom that can add Detroit like talent for many more years or take a QB that will add more time to the expectations for greatness. Poles has to see this and do what's best. The way I see it is no matter who they take, I do not see Flus as a contending SB coach like Andy Reid, maybe he can be the Dan Campbell but if it comes down to those two this year Rieds experience will be the edge.

Bears DBs and TJ Edward's played well. This was a must win game and the Bears pulled it off. -

Poles nailed that evaluation. Jenkins is one of the best guards in the league. He should get league recognition if he can finish this season. -
Carolina probably said noooo, lol

And to think Mustispher is playing well in Baltimore. Whitehair has a bad right hand, hurt in preseason, I think he tried snapping with his left and it didn't go so well. Maybe that is why they have him playing LG too.

Bagent seems to know how to understand the position better, but Fields is more superior. Hope Fields is ready to go and he understands tempo better. Bagent spent more time understanding and preparing than Fields in my eyes, so I hope he woke up with his time off. I would love for the Bears to use their draft capital to use their draft capital to continue make bank for the future while adding more top 100 talent -
Every says he needs stats like ints, tackles etc, but if they don't throw his way because he is a blanket, what is he to do? He shuts down his side of the field. Oct 24, 2023Bears CB Jaylon Johnson now has the highest coverage grade at the position thru Week 7 (min. 100 snaps) with an 88.1 mark - 43.5% completion rate allowed is 4th - 0.66 yards per coverage snap is t-8th
-
I think that is one reason why JJ wants what he does. He knows 2 years from signing and the defense adding talent, he will eventually be under paid at 13-15 a year. It's a tough balanc for a gm to figure all the costs now and in the future
