Redskins @ Bears, 8/18/12, Preseason game 2
Boston Boxer replied to balta1701-A's topic in Bearstalk
really nice drive! nice quick throws negating the pass rush. We finally have some WRs!!!!! -
I think we go 9-7. I dont like the OLine and i think the D is not as good as it's been in the past. I say 10-6 if we can consistantly pressure the QB and Urlacher plays most of the year.

I wonder if Hester has any skills left at CB. If i recall, he was a CB/WR in college. Marshall, Alshon, and Bennett are a pretty good starting WR group

that is also the key to building a team for the long haul. It's nice to make it to the Super bowl one year, but it's even better to be in the playoffs and a threat to make it to the super bowl every year. You always want to draft players that can help now, but it is great to get guys that can build depth as well.

being from Boston and a Patriots fan...i can say that we have some moments that make us go "WTF?". But in the end we trust what BB does because it works. The Patriots tend to draft guys who are team captains on their college team. Guys who are team players and leaders. They take chances on guys who fall in the draft and if they dont pan out, they can just let them go and not care because they got him in the 6th or 7th rounds. Look at Dennard, CB from Nebraska. 14 days ago he was projected 1st-2nd round guy...3 days ago he was in jail for punching a cop. The Pats took him in the 7th round. That is a risk they can afford to take. Low risk high reward. The Pats drafted Tom Brady in the 6th round. He was a hard worker and a leader at Mich. Dumb luck of Bledsoe getting hurt and Brady was forced to play. The rest is history and he is one of the greatest QB of all time. Why, because he is a hard worker. He is always first to show up to workouts. He is always at non mandatory workouts. He leads by example. Those are the players the Bears need to draft. Guys who are smart, hard working football guys. BB does not care what anyone thinks about him or his approach to the draft, FA, news conf etc. And why should he...the Pats are consistenly winning 10-12 games a year. With that said, the Bears are going in the right direction. They have a top QB, top RB, and in my opinion they have a solid WR corp. They have a top 5 defense. What they need to do is build the oline into a solid unit. If you give any QB enough time, he will pick apart any D. Cutler is a top QB and when given time to throw, he is spectacular. solid oline play and dline play would give the Bears many solid years of 10 or mor wins without a doubt. What Emery needs to do is stick to his plan. HIS plan, not anyone else. The Bears are on the right track!

its McClellin, and that is a nice pick
-
very good selection!
-
I say Coples/DE. I dont think Floyd will be anything special in the pros (and i am a Notre Dame fan), and we can get OLine help later
-
we need a "like" button. Could not have said it better myself Pix
-
OLine gives Cutler time to throw = at least NFC championship game. Cutler on his back all game = 8-8 simple as that

Second interview with Emery today, correct?
Boston Boxer replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
stupid statement. you dont know either of them and you dont know why Licht is getting a second interview. How can you come up with that? either guy would be great. -
me too. Marshall is crazy, Johnson is just suspected to be crazy.
-
i would say VJAX and finley would be nice...save the draft picks on the draft
-
i think you guys get caught up on titles. Gronk is a TE, but Hernandez is only a TE in name...he is actually a slot WR. If we had a decent O Coach that knew how to use the talent on the roster, then we would be in business. Hester should be used int he slot, were a LB or safety would have to cover him. No way in hell any LB can stay with Hester. A starting WR corp of Bennett and VJAX on the out side and Hester in the slot would be a great start. Sans at #4 and throw in Knox if he can return. That is solid with a healty Cutler.
-
we should be 1/8 the franchise the Patriots are...so i dont understand the hate. I am fairly bias, but still...the Bears are a mess and the Pats are one win away from the Super Bowl in a rebuilding year. That is pretty special
-
the Miami Heat did it...i know it is a different sport, but i think players can get together and talk about their plans
-
i would flip #5 and #3
-
this organization is stupid as hell and does not care about winning imo. This is the stupidest thing i have heard in a while.

Bearstalk was GREAT! Welcome and we look forward to reading your posts

as thrilled i am to hear Jerry is gone, i think it is a mistake to keep Lovie and the coaches. Hire a GM, and then let them hire/fire who they want. This was the oportunity to get a different coaching staff in here...Cowher, Fisher, Gruden etc are all out there. I think when you clean house, you need to clean house.

top to bottom the dumbest franchise in the NFL. Way to finish strong for absolutely no reason.
-
Happy Holiday's to you all.
-
3rd string QB and 3rd down RB starting against the Packers. It will be ugly. I will watch it anyway because the NBA suck and it is no longer a quality product and not remotely entertaining.

my question is...why do we draft players from college with a injury history only to have them contiue to be injured and spend half the time getting surgery as pros. Certainly there are players out there that are not injury prone that can stay on the field and produce
