  1. Late first weekend Bears karma with Leonard Floyd sacking Rodgers on the 3rd play and he twists his ankle and out for the rest of the game.
  2. I need to see some film reviews of a lot of the young players before deciding where to go. As far as Fields, he didn't impress but the worst thing for me is that it felt like I was watching Trubisky again where the brighter the lights got the worse he played. I just didn't see the leadership I expected from him at all. That included late in the game when we should have been running plays with urgency. It doesn't matter if this is one out of hand or not, the offense must learn how to execute in that scenario. A good leader knows he might need that in the next game and preps them for it in this game.
  3. I know how shitty my team played I just didn't expect you to be the one kicking sand in my face when I'm down. Does Jesus play on the Dline? If so, we need him. I also know it's week 1 and that is always a wild ride in the NFL. Despite my disappointment I know I saw far more talent on the field than this time last year. Can these coaches pull it together?
  4. I expect the idiots in Green Bay to do this crap but coming from a Bears fan to put it here is despicable.
  5. Yep, gotta know the difference between good offense and bad defense. Eddie Jackson looked like a rookie today. There were a few positives: Darnell Wright had quite a few bad plays but I think he improved as the game went along. He had a really nice blitz pickup on the Mooney TD play. Still bullish on his future. Roschon will be RB1. His power in the lower body is impressive. Really overall we have 3 good RBs which is a good place to be. Tyrique Stevenson. I went into this game expecting the rookie to make a few big mistakes or penalties and he just played well overall. If the safeties Brisker and Jackson understood their jobs we'd be better. Gordon also looked good. Tremaine Edmunds is going to be very good for us. Some of the ugly: Whitehair isn't that good at LG anymore. His best days are clearly in the rear view mirror. I hope he goes to center and Patrick to the bench when Jenkins returns because that's still an upgrade. Or Feeney wins the center job outright. Justin Jones isn't a starting DT in the NFL. He might be the best starter for us right now but the young DTs will take his place over the course of the season. Other than the 1 play they highlighted from Pickens both rookie DTs are working on their learning curve. I do need to see some of the film though because we had quite a few plays where we blew up their Oline. Dline will be a focus again this offseason. Safeties were not good, especially Eddie Jackson. Coaches were out-coached and it started by giving GB a short field. LeFleur getting Jones 1:1 in man coverage against Edwards is how you do it. With all the 3rd and long plays we forced them into then just gave up the middle of the field on easy passes. If there is one coach who needs to be on the hottest seat it is Alan Williams. Anyone still concerned Luke Getsy will be hired away from us after this season? You can easily break this game down into 1 comparison: Best pass rush won it.
  6. My first half summary: Too many bad coaching decisions are why we are losing. No need to get cute on the 3rd and 1, 4th and short especially with an Oline that hasn't had much time playing together. Does anyone really think Lucas Patrick is the power blocker you want to sneak behind? Too many penalties lack of discipline. OTOH I love the way everyone rallied around Fields so I'll gladly take that one. This young team and new offense needs that. Too many blown coverages. With so many DBs, LBs missing time the last few weeks it really shows. We're in the game just need to settle down and get back to basics.
  7. I know we got DJ Moore for a reason let's go downfield and if not take the checkdown, which we've done very successfully. No need to get cute on WR screens especially when they are up tight on the LOS.
  8. Tonyan got injured watching college football?
  9. Herbert is at his best between the 20s. Roschon is the type of back with good vision, quick feet, hands for outlet routes, and most of all power in the redzone. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him have more TDs than Herbert.
  10. In the NFL you really can't expect to head into week 1 any better than this. I include Jenkins being on IR and that's just for 4-6 wks.
  11. I don't see it listed anywhere. I would expect it to be here if anywhere but it's not on NFL.com either. https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/
  12. Roschon is wearing #23 now. He's got a lot to live up to with that number. https://www.chicagobears.com/team/players-roster/
  13. Chiefs are not in a rebuilding phase like we were last year when we had to deal with subpar talent. The great move would have been cutting him before he lost you a game. Or say maybe not putting him on the field as often as they did? There’s no way a good organization can get through training camp and preseason without knowing his issues.
  14. Oddly my take away after watching that game is that we're in a better spot than I expected and our roster is going to be competitive. Detroit didn't impress me at all. Their zone coverage was sloppy and there was almost no help for Hutchinson in pass rush. Hutchinson himself didn't look much improved from what he was in college, although he's stronger and better with the long arm. I just didn't see the variety in rush tactics you'd expect from the 2nd pick in the draft in . I'd gladly take him on our roster and we'd be better with him but he looks like a guy who will take advantage of below average OTs and be much less successful with above average OTs. Regardless, my biggest takeaway is that Hutchinson would look even better if he had help. There were a lot of good draft options for pass rush help, why wouldn't Detroit have use their 1st Rd draft picks to add to their front instead of grabbing a small RB or off-ball LB? That would have helped their coverage too. Detroit's offense only put up 14pts. Their Oline looked ok but struggled to open running lanes for most of the game. Goff looked comfortable running things but as always if you can get him moving around he'll miss some throws. It's week 1 so things clean up rapidly once the season starts, we'll see if that applies to Detroit. One last thing: Watching KC missing two elite talents shows just how balanced the rest of their roster is compared to the NFL, even with the best QB in the NFL.
  15. Other than Hutchinson, who seems to be working off just one pass rush move, the rest of Detroit's team looks average to bad. Both first round picks are backup players.
  16. Whatever it is, his body language shows it's very emotional for him and he's torn about leaving the team/practice.
  17. https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2023/09/07/packers-wr-romeo-doubs-returns-to-practice-thursday-wr-christian-watson-still-out/
  18. I'll guess it's someone less prominent as their defense focuses on the obvious big names and stopping the run. Give me Robert Tonyan for 6pts.
  19. Don’t care. We have equivalent issues at Oline and safety (to a lesser extent) but I’m hopeful Brisker can play. Based on the article they could be missing all 3 top WR. Still don’t care. https://packerswire.usatoday.com/2023/09/06/half-of-packers-wrs-dealing-with-hamstring-injuries-to-open-week-1-practice/
  20. If Love was that good don’t you think they’d have kept Adams last year and let Rodgers walk? Their team would be in much better shape than they are now. Young starting QB plus legit WR1.
  21. I think Adam has brought this up but in the first couple minutes of this video listen to where many of the players who started games last year for the Bears are today. As I listened to that I realized that I literally have no clue about our defense. We all talk about the Oline but I kinda know what that is because there are many of the same faces there as last year plus Nate Davis and the rookie Darnell Wright. Wright at least got enough snaps preseason for me to have a good enough idea that he'll be fine. He's already an upgrade over the version of Larry Borom that started wk 1 last year at RT. Likewise Braxton Jones is also improved over the wk 17 version we last saw, we just don't know how much. Lucas Patrick, even if I don't like him, is still an upgrade over Mustipher. Overall I have some idea what they will look like. The WRs and RBs I have a good idea what to expect with Claypool being the wildcard. TEs we saw what they can do. Fields was stringing together a lot of good practices with some bad mixed in but overall there was a sense that we have a passing game this preseason. We saw good glimpses of the running game here and there. We put up points in a lot of games last year so I feel I know the floor for the offense and it should move upward from that. The defense on the other hand? I don't think I ever saw Edmunds and Edwards at LB in the preseason. The safeties were banged up and we saw very little of Jackson w/ Brisker. Jaylon Johnson missed a lot of time. On the Dline we got a good glimpse of starters Jones and Billings plus the 2 rookie DTs. At DE we saw nothing from starters Walker and Ngakoue. DomRob had a good preseason, Rasheem Green much less so. The D was so bad last year that combined with all the preseason injuries it is literally out of the frame when trying to sort out what we have this year. What does this look like when the pieces are finally together on the field at the same time? So many of the players we relied on are either not on a roster, or buried on a depth chart. Overall I have no clue what this defense brings to the table. I don't see how the Packers can know either. What or who do they try to exploit in coverage? Do we need 20pts to win, 25pts, or 30pts? I think the offense is definitely good for 20pts, and 25pts doesn't seem too unreasonable.
