He interviewed a lot, but the only offer he got was with San Fran, it was under the condition of keeping Tomsula as DC and leting Fangio go and he turned it down. It was one of the later jobs fielded, and there really wasn't another HC gig open at that point. Like I said, I'm not calling him a bad coach. I just don't understand why he is a hot commodity coming from a system that was basically ran by manning and following it up with a lackluster year on offense for the Bears. I know there can be reasons made for why they were bad this year, but there are a lot more coaches with more proven track record out there. I just don't understand why he is HC qualified I guess.

The one year he took over defensive play calling to cover for bablich being a bad DC, was one of the worst defenses the Bears fielded in a while. I never thought he had any talent was glad to see him go. Then we met Mel Tucker....

I don't understand why anyone would want him at a HC at this point. Last year, the only team that wanted him was San Fran and they went with Tomsula instead. Then he comes to the Bears and leads a sputtering offense based on the run game. I'm not saying he is a bad coach, I just don't understand why he would be a hot commodity. I don't think He will get a HC'ing gig anytime soon.

I don't lknow how you can blame the defense. They gave up only 14 points during regulation. That's pretty darn good against any team. This game is on the offense and the kicker.

How exactly has the line improved this year? It's a product of the conservative offense that the Bears have been using and the production has been poor. They are 20th in points/game and 24th in yards/attempt a game. The Bears are 7th in rushing attempts, but 24th in ypa. The Bears are 21st in in passing attempts/game. When you aren't passing, interceptions and sacks go down. When you are 21st in passing attempts, it's not surprising your sacks go down. I'm not trying to be negative, but stating facts. The stuff that has my hyped on the Bears is based on Vic Fangio and players like seeing Lanford showing up. I think we are going from Manning to Luck at RB at the moment. I am not excited to see Forte go, I think he is underrated even in the Bears community, but I think Langford has potential to be great himself and welcome the new era. I'm excited that Fangio's D is over preforming to my expectations and not due to talent, but due to his genius and knowing he wil be the DC when the talent gets there. The offense has been bad, it's right at the bottom third of the league despite immense talent on the offense.

Bring your best. I'm a lock into the playoffs because I am top in ponts(despite losing Bell and Foster,) . Make it as interesting as you can.

Dag nabbit, he would come back right as he is going to play me. He had a pretty good week this past week too.

Some subjects we wont agree on, but the Bears went from me not carrying if i watch them this year to me buying 2 sweatshirts and hats off nfl.com today. They are fun to watch and we will disagree on stuff from time to time but we are all her ebecause we want to see the best for the team and have a passion for them.

To start with 2, the offense has been poor this year compared to the talent. Yes there has been injuries, but players have stepped up in their absence. Jeffery's ability is obviously missed, but the others you listed not so much. The Bears haven't exactly been lighting it up point wise when he is healthy. The points scored are pretty identical when he has played and when he hasn't. The other players that have been injured have been replaced by comparable play by back ups ie. Forte by Langford(I actually think langford has been an improvement) and Leno to Bushrod. There are 6 former pro bowlers on offense, and you can see the stats from what I posted above they haven't preformed wel. In comparison, the D has no names on it and preformed way higher than expected. That is why I am saying that the offense hasn't been living up to talent. On Cutler, the Bears have had to be super conservative to control his turn overs. He's completing around 44% of his passes past 10 yards. To me that says that Gase is keeping it short, to most likely one read, and conservative to play with in the constraints of the turn over machine that he has. Cutler has 130 throws that are less than 10 yards, and 35 for more than 10 yards. 12 of which are over 20 yards.

I appreciate the time you take to do this, i enjoy reading through it

Pace walked into the perfect storm when it comes to coaching. Fox was released late in the process, as were Gase and Fangio after they were screwed by san fran at the same time. Pace needs to get some true playmakers until i buy into him. Right now I am just seeing amazing coaching by fangio, Fox doing a great job of what he does during the week, and Gase knowing his limitations with Cutler at QB. The offense has sucked giving the talent on offense but the D have over achieved a lot considering the talent. Gase has been able to find just the right way to squeeze out just enough offense to win the games they have won. The Bears are 24th in points per game on offense and 17th in yards to this point with the 8th most penalty yards. Fangio is a freaking genius. I never thought that good of a coach could have this much of an impact.

They used to talk about him as top 5 but he dropped to top 10. He's been off a while.
-
Langford!! He's my guy!!
-
I love forts he is my second favorite older bear behind peanut. But every time i see langford play I think he has so much potential. He's me second favorite new bear behind long Quick edit: when I talk of older bear, I mean during this transition and since Angelo to now
-
Langford still looks like the real deal to me. I hope he has a legit chance in the future.

I would put the first jeffery drop on D. Hands were in his eyes. Second is on cutler as he under threw it by a mile. The int was a bad throw on cutler. The fumble was 60 40 cutler over the line. He saw what was happening and couldn't secure it per his history with fumbles.
-
His hands was in front of alshons eyes on the first one. He couldn't see it. The second one cutler under threw it a lot worse and Jeffrey had to slow down a lot to allow better coverage.
-
It was your qb not Jeffrey. The defense was good combined with bad throws on both drops and the fumble and pick six was him.
-
because he is a third wide receiver at best, and the bears traded away marshall, and overpaid royal so they have to try to keep him healthy
-
Don't let a bears game get you down this year. If anything, we learned that Fangio is the real deal so far. For the Bears to be ranked so high on D with little talent there, speaks loads for just how good he is. I hope the bears make it clear to him that he is Fox's heir apparent, so that he never leaves the team. There is only so much you can do with the talent the Bears have and they are over achieving on D so far.

Sorry poor flash backs from 2005, I was wondering if they were going to get Bennett. Michael Hoomanawanui is who they trade for.
-
You can delete this, they got a TE from new england.
-
This is total speculation on my part, and i just read this while looking at fantasy football on yahoo. I'm not sure what other TE's are on the trading block or in FA, that would warrant restructuring Bree's contract. Is it possible they are close to a trade for Bennett? We know Pace's Ties to the Saints.

I'm not worried about free agents just yet. It's far away and many I wanted last year, like mccourty, stayed with their team. I was really hoping for secondary help. I am more worried about the big dog from the Saints being able to draft. I haven't seen it yet. Yes, I know it is too early, but I saw the team he left now and haven't seen much from his draft or additions yet. I'm big on Langford but that may be liking his style of running and has only been in limited time. Even emery had a Kyle long and Jeffery, which is sadly better than Agnelo with his Briggs, Peanut, forte over many more years. The rebuild should have started in Emery's first year but they tried to plug in FA's and it just didn't work. Not defending Emery, he was crap too, but hard to screw up a team in two years, we should have up tp 12 years old more veteran talent drafted from him.
