  1. I think Marty B will be gone sooner than later. He has said he doesn't wants to play for just one more big payday and he is done.
  2. I couldn't see Cutler mentoring a QB. It doesn't fit his personality or his actions. He had a pulled hamstring that he walked to the back with and didn't come back out with Clausen to help. Romo came back out with a broke clavicle to help Weeden. I can't see him wanting to be a mentor.
  3. Where is the addition? I just see subtraction by subtraction. The team is by far worse at WR this year, and even with a rookie, which none have stepped up like last year, it shouldn't be addition. Marshall is good as he always was.
  4. good thing they got rid of marshall to make the team better....
  5. They will be awful for a few years if not more. I'm far from sold on Pace. As I said earlier, I think the Bears are a great QB away from being competitive. If they throw in a complete secondary and defensive play maker then they can be a top team in the league. The Bears are bad because of bad drafting and decisions going back to Jerry Angelo. This is all the front office and ownership's fault. Pieces are there, some great pieces in Alshon and Long and I think possibly Langford. The other pieces arer mostly filler starters or quality depth until the Bears get good.
  6. It all depends on how well the bears draft at QB. GB isn't a much better team outside of rodgers. They may only 2 or 3 players ahead of the Bears if you exclude him. If they want a team that will win despite the QB it will take a long time. They don't have a single star on D and one of the worst secondaries in the league. I wish the Bears played like this last year so the Bears could have gotten Mariota.
  7. I think it may have been a concussion or something. He was walking fine and not grabbing at his arm or anything. I dont think it was a hammy either.
  8. I don't want to see Clausen for the long term, but it would be refreshing if they went with him and cut Cutler before the year started. I'm just done watching Cutler play, it has taken my enjoyment out of watching the Bears. I am just watching now to watch the D grow, enjoy Forte's last year probably and hopefully Langfor emerge to take his place next year.
  9. Theres the Jared Allen play everyone has been waiting for.
  10. I would rather see Clausen all day everyday than another snap of Cutler. I'm done with him. I don't want to see it due to injury though.
  11. I would guess that this is who he is. He got lucky early last year, and had one big game against san fran.
  12. No just no. I'm not getting into the Cutler debate again, but he didn't complete half his passes, which came heavily in the second half. They only scored a field goal and a garbage TD in the last couple seconds of the game during the second half. There is no reason to blame the rest of the team for Rodgers knowing where and how to step up, and defend a mediocre game by Cutler. He's in the between 20-25 of the league and it is what it is. No reason to tear the rest of the team down to build him up.
  13. I was impressed by the holes that the o-line was opening for Forte. He was really effective in short yardage thanks to that. I think GB is still a SB contender and the bears won't be better than a 5 win team. They had an off day, but put Rodgers on any team, and I think they are a SB contender.
  14. This game puts Cutler's record vs the Packers at 1-12
  15. Surprisingly competitive first half, very poor second half by the Bears.
  16. It's odd to me that Mills was cut after spending so much time with the ones. It doesn't give Long much time to learn the position or the line to "gel". I figured he'd be kept for depth. November 15th should be a fun game, we might get to see Kyle and his brother line up against each other 1 on 1.
  17. I'm not a fan, but I said I wouldn't give them hell about the pick. I just got in a debate over where it is closer to a 5th or 7th. Technically it is worth a 7th now, but I think it will be closer to a 5th when the draft comes around. I have no hopes even in a fifth, so it doesn't bother me. The fact it equals Marshall's value is separate, and I will give them hell for getting rid of marshall for that.
  18. Totally unrelated, but I really wished the Bears would have pursued Mariotta harder when the pick was supposedly "available". I really think he is going to turn out legit once the Titans get a team built around him. All of his reports and play have seemingly been really high. The teams future depends on the QB they choose to replace Cutler with when they do. QB is so important that GB is on top of most rankings. They have a questionable just lost Nelson with Cobb being hurt and a questionable D. In the NFL it is all about one position, and building a championship team around it if you want a chance to win it every year.

    Brady Walks

Supposedly, the Ravens tipped the Colts off about it.

    Bears vs Browns

It was so weak last year that it's hard to be highly optimistic, but they switched to a 3-4. It cuts down the responsibility field of the players, and moved a lot of talent at DE to line backer. I think they are deep, but without a stand out star LB, but that is still an improvement over last year. I am interested to see how it plays out. I can see Jones ending up as a Hillenmeyer type that is holds down his spot, not heralded, but would be missed when he is gone.

    Bears vs Browns

Bostic just doesn't have a mind for football imho. I really could only watch a little bit, but Langford continues to give me some hope he can be special when the Bears lose Forte after this year. Talent wise, Forte is my favorite Bear so that is saying a lot. It's hard to gauge, when he was running against a D that David Fales looked good against. He could maybe be our CJ Andersen, someone not "special" like Forte, but pretty darn good.

    Brady Walks

I think they have to appeal. It neuters the NFL and Goodall if they keep getting overturned in court.
  23. I wrote a big reply, but who wants to read all that. To sum it up, I think the Bears need 13 starters. It could be possibly more, possibly less. I can elaborate more if you want. The following needs are either based on holes now or holes after this year due to age or leaving players. 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 TE, 3 OL, 3 DL/LB, 2 CB, 2S I'm not saying the Bears need to fill all of those positions to get out of the bottom 10, I just don't think they will be able to fill enough in the off season. I could see the team being more competitive again in maybe the 2017 or 2018 season. The number 11th pick was 7-9 this year.
  24. Yea, I understand trade value. However, The Bears are a rebuilding team and when 2017 comes around the team will be short likely a very high 6th round pick that they could use. You're right, the trade value is a 7th, but the pick will likely be a top 10 pick in the 6th.
